An unexpected mid-week treat. Hospitality from the moment we walked in until we walked out the door. A friendly atmosphere to enjoy conversations with family and friends without fighting to be heard. Burrata appetizer was fresh and tasty and the chicken and sausage entree was both delicious and comforting. A big shout out to our waitress, Lauren, who gave awesome suggestions and consistently checked in. A new favorite place after a long day at work.

Review of Piu Bella. -located at 79-16 21st Ave
Nice casual dining experience tonight at this Italian-style family restaurant tucked away near LGA. They are a little out of the way and hard to find if you don't know the area. 1f you are not local the street #s get confusing above Ditmars and 49th. So you would think this restaurant is for locals cooked by locals only? Most NYers would have a hard time finding this place if they didn't live in the area. The nearest bus is the Q69, but since part of Ditmars are closed off the trip out here is convoluted and confusing. Fortunately, I had walked Ditmars Blvd many times and this was no problem.
I was in two moods what to eat tonight and since pizza is a lightning rod currently in Astoria news coverage, it was time to see how they measured up (based on a lot of IG posts I had read about them) versus more well-known names in Astoria
Inside the establishment, there is a split between takeout/ quick bites and casual dining areas.
I decided to eat in and see what the overall experience was like. I was not asked to show my vaccine id upfront but displayed it in the dining area. Nothing else was asked.
I ordered the Romana pizza which at 18" was a huge personal pie full of cheese, mozzarella, prosciutto, and tomatoes. At $17 this was very good value for money and affirmed my selection from the menu. The pizza was freshly cooked and with a small free side order, was delicious. I knew I had made the right choice. Whgiler large for a personal pie, it was not too filling.
Piu Bella scores well on ambiance with pictures of Italian heritage and memories from the homeland hung in the main dining area. There were several parties going on so the owner who briefly came by my table was running around all the time. The noise level is below average so you can't hear very much. The tables are nicely spaced and there is plenty of space to walk.
Overall, a very good experience. RATING: FOUR STARS!!

We had dinner last night at Piu Bella!! Service Food and ambience was excellent... A must try if you are in the area!!!!

My family and I came here for dinner tonight and everything was excellent. The food was fresh and flavorful and the service was amazing! You can tell how passionate they are and they treated us like family. Definitely a place we will keep coming back to.
