Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.

I am very happy with the sushi and rolls here. I have been picking up food after work and it’s always good and consistent. Clean.

My family and I ordered In while staying in the area. Pricetag was perfect, food was delicious and plentiful. Delivery was quicker than expected. Very pleased and will definitely order from there again while visiting in the area.

Perfect choice starting at exacting noon. Able to get seated immediately. Hot green tea. We both had favorable and attractive lunch entrees that came with soup and salad.

I brought three teenage boys to Kura Thai and Sushi this past Saturday around 2:30. The restaurant was empty when we arrived, so we received plenty of attention. Because two members of our party have gluten sensitivities, the server steered us clear of the menu items that contain gluten. Note that many of their rolls are made with imitation crab and there is soy sauce in the salad dressing, most of the entree sauces and the rice dishes. We were told that all sauces were made fresh each morning and it was not possible to make a dish without the soy sauce. They did not have tamari, but did have aminos for us to use. Because the sushi boat for two came with two salads and two soups and there is soy sauce in the dressing, we were brought four soups, which was nice because the other orders did not come with soup or salad. The soup was tasty, but was not hot.
The boat was absolutely beautifully arranged. The chicken in the chicken Pineapple Fried Rice was not good. The flavor and texture were awful. No one at the table cared for it. We let the waitress know that we thought the chicken was bad and she went to tell the chef. She returned with a few freshly "steamed" slices of chicken to prove to us that the chicken was freshly cut that morning.
I had ordered the Naruto roll and the tofu and vegetable green curry. The roll was very good, though the cucumber wrap seemed quite tough. The curry was filled with tofu and lots of fresh veggies. But one of them did not sit well, I had the runs later that evening. No one else did, so it wasn't from the soup or the Spicy Girl Roll.

Excellent choice of sushi rolls. Some of the rolls were unusual and combinations of flavors. Would definitely go back on my next visit to town.

Not bad. Had sashimi lunch combo 10-15-18.
The fish was OK. Service was OK, as well.
It's good for a quick lunch stop and the only thing I had was the sashimi lunch combo. The restaurant was nice and clean, but it was a bit dark.
My server was very nice.
Not the greatest sushi, but not the worst sushi. It worked for a quick lunch.

First off, I am not an authority on Asian cuisine, that being said we ate that this restaurant because the majority of the family wished to try something different while on vacation. The restaurant is small which is not a problem for us as we were seated at 5:30 PM. We ordered shrimp gyoza, shumai, chicken yaki udon, sushi b and lotus roll. Almost everyone enjoyed their dish...except for me, let me explain. The presentation and artistry of my plate was beautiful, the sushi was excellent, however, the additional "rice rolled" pieces were tasteless which was a disappointment.

Read a fair number of online reviews which were mostly positive, so I took the negatives with a grain of salt and decided to see for myself. My son hasn't had sushi for a while and was craving it a bit, so there was a little pressure.
Parking on the street out front was a cinch, but you probably won't be impressed by the facade. The downtown Vineland area seems to be undergoing a bit of a refresh, so you may look at the front and have some doubts, but don't let the lack of a flashy entrance put you off.
When I enter a sushi restaurant for the first time I let my nose tell me what's happening. There were no overbearing scents or odors, which is always a good thing. The floors and tables were all clean and everything in sight was in good repair, save a string of rope lights under the bar that could really just go away.
The staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing.
We ordered a large assortment of sushi and everything was fresh and tasty. I've been eating sushi for over 30 years and can generally detect something that's off - nothing was being covered up here and all the textures were spot-on. (fish, eel, rolls, rice, vegetables, nori, roe, everything.)
The pickled ginger was on the "better" end of my spectrum of experiences, which is always a good thing.
We were seated near the front of the restaurant, and I witnessed a steady stream of locals coming in to pick up orders, as well as several others being seated for dine-in. (We're visiting family in the area, so I take this traffic as a positive indicator of ongoing consistency.)
We'd like to go back to try the Thai offerings, because it's always nice to know your options.
Sushi is generally expensive by definition. Their prices were in-line with what I expect for a "regular" sushi restaurant - so the value is "average" because I got exactly what I expected for my money. Portions were aligned with the pricing. Cheap sushi usually means tiny portions or marginal quality. Their portions and quality are both good.

One of our regular, unpretentious places to eat. Service is laid back; but we go to have a dining experience. Fresh sushi/sashimi with a nice presentation. Would recommend the Spicy Kani salad, shumi, and dumplings. Nice fluffy/crunchy breading on the shrimp tempura; not so much on the vegetable tempura. BYOB; they will heat up your saki. Best Japanese in Vineland. Husband likes the spicy Thai seafood soup.

This is the second time an old friend and I have been here... the first was over 4 years ago and now again today... Still delicious Thai pineapple fried rice with cashews, raisins, egg and rice of course... perfect combination to get you to try something different!! We shared the rice plate and a sushi roll special off of the daily special board at the door, The Angry Bird... tempura shrimp with spicy crab meat on top with a spicy mayo and tobiko... exploded with flavor!! A new favorite!! The restaurant is in a non-descript strip mall next to a frozen yogurt shoppe, you have to find it!! You can sit in Japanese style seating on a raised floor or at the sushi bar or at a nice table... can I recommend bottled water, the tap water was a little off tasting... nothing to do with the food!!

What is the a Japanese, Thai or Chinese restaurant. Their menu has items from all three separate and very difference cuisines. except they all have rice as a base ingredient.. Why not add in a burrito, it has rice. In any case, it doesn't matter because they are only average in any of them and serve to satisfy the masses rather than specialize and really be outstanding. Their Mango and Sticky Rice was terrible... adding sprinkles is completely ridiculous.

We stopped by Kura after a wonderful Saturday afternoon concert by the Bay Atlantic Symphony at the Landis Theater. It turned out to be a great choice.
Kura is a small storefront restaurant (though with a banquet room in the back), and could use a makeover. But it's a quaint, friendly, family-run place, and we were made to feel welcome.
The quality is somewhere between our usual "everyday" sushi places (like Jay Asian in Cherry Hill and Wasabi in Turnersville) and our favorite "special occasion" places (like Mikado in Cherry Hill and Fuji in Haddonfield). This makes Kura a great value, since the prices are much closer to the former than the latter. But Kura features a more extensive menu than most "everyday" places, making it a prime candidate for return visits.
And return I'm sure we will. The Hawaii roll was amazing, among the best I've ever had anywhere, and my wife loved the Valentine roll. But what really got my attention was a little, inexpensive roll I had never seen before: peanut and avocado. I could eat one of these every day . . . wow! If you like peanuts you *must* try this. The rest of the sushi was about what you'd expect in any decent place; but when you factor in some of the more interesting/original menu options and the price point you get an above average value.
I would not hesitate to recommend Kura to anyone who enjoys sushi and a casual dining experience. BYOB.

Kura Thai and sushi is the #1 place I go for sushi in Vineland. It is also BYOB. The Firemans roll is excellent.
