I found this place on Roadfood, which never leads me wrong. Small, cheap, but great breakfast and lunch place with a friendly owner. Great value for the price. There’s a small eat-in area, or you can take out. I had a pork roll (also called Taylor ham) sandwich, which is a NJ breakfast meat specialty I recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Last Saturday around oh dark thirty in the morning I was looking for a cup of coffee. The world was asleep but then I came across 'White Rose diner'. They attended to me and I felt like I was in another place. A gem in service and down town feeling. Thanks for saving the day. Your food was delicious, thank you for your great hospitality and great food.

I am so sorry that I do not have a picture of the plate I just ate. I was super hungry. I passed by this place many times and finally had an opportunity to have a bite. The owner was working hard, yet still attentive to the customers. I ordered coffee, eggs over easy, grits with cheese, and corned beef hash. So tasty. That corned beef had a perfect balance of meat potatoes and onions. I gobbled it all up in like 7 minutes.

I've lived in Linden for 9 years and pass this place on a daily bases; it's not dinner at the Waldorf but it beats fast food and serves the purpose, its quick and reasonably priced. Your typical diner food, hamburgers, fries; but I specially stopped in for the fish & grits, it was a hearty portion and didn't even break the bank. It's very small with counter seats, a bit out dated, but every place can't be 5 stars, I would go back and try something else when I'm in the mood for a quick bite to go.

We read about White Rose System on Roadfood.com and decided we had to try it out on our road trip from Boston to Philly. It was definitely worth the extra 2 miles off the highway to eat somewhere other than McDonalds! The food was delicious and the staff was super friendly. We all ordered something different and everything was delish! Highly recommend if you are in the area!

I have visited the White Rose System (sometimes referred to a s Diner) a numbe of times when I was hankering for a good slider. Their burger sliders are about as good as you can get anywhere in Jersey (their chicken sliders are not bad either.) I can't vouch for the other items on their menu, but if you are hungry for a quick lunch, not too pricey, this is the place to stop. (Honestly, it is mostly frequented by locals because it is off the beaten travel track. But if you are a slider afficianado, it is worth the side trip while you are in the area.) The place looks like a throwback to the 50s, with lots or chrome, vinyl, formica, and counter bar stools. Forget the fries and onion rings - they are okay but nothing to write home about.
To be sure, there is not a lot of table accommodation, but it is rarely SRO.
I have found that the quality varies from time to time, but I think that it depends on who is running the grill. When the boss is in, no problem.

If you need a quick lunch and tasty food, this is for you. Owner does the cooking. His sliders were amazing and very inexpensive. He also offers fish and grits - try it. Small diner, limited table service but you can sit at the counter. It's on a main road but street parking is available. Supposedly the sliders are the best in NJ. See if you agree.

This diner has been around for years and it's serving up tasty and delightful food to it's customers. New Jersey is no stranger to good diner food and White Rose System is no stranger to serving it up good and to the best of foodies.

This place has been around forever. I can't believe this place has never been reviewed. Bobby Flay even heard of this place and featured them on his TV show for it's sliders. They have also been written up in the Star Ledger for their pork roll sandwiches.
Anyhow, it's as plain and simple as it gets. If it wasn't for the small flat screen TV hanging over the door to the back room you would think you're back in the 1950's Maybe eight chairs at the counter, and no tables but usually a queue of people, mostly regulars, waiting for takeout.
It's also one of the few places you can get fried fish and grits with your eggs. But, you can be assured that whatever you get, it'll be made fresh, right in front of your eyes. The grille is on the other side of the counter and the owner faces his customers while he prepares your food. He usually has a young assistant helping him but I've never seen the same girl twice.
It is what it is. If you're looking for a typical Jersey "greasy spoon" experience, this place can't be beat. Grreat food, great service and great price..
