If you want to go to a restaurant that gives humongous portions, and they suggest that you share with others (with no sharing fee), Harold's Deli is the place to go. So, a $35 sandwich is enough to feed four people, so it's really a bargain. Plus, their bread and pickle bar has something for every pickle lover. Rather than me tell you every great thing that they have on the menu, it's actually worth checking out their menu to see the huge selection they offer. They have breakfast, sandwiches, entrees, chicken soup with matzo balls the size of a melon, crispy fries, knishes, and desserts that will knock off the socks of any sugar addict! One slice of cake will probably feed six to eight people, no joke. Go with a group, and order some different things so you can all share.

I wish we could have dined in. The menu looks amazing. We decided on the large pastrami sandwich. We later found out it comes with 10 slices of bread for a reason. Having said that, the pastrami tasted amazing. Although it is off the beaten path it is well worth the trip for takeout or outside seating. Staff is very friendly, plenty of parking and prices are fair based on the portion size. A real winner and must go back to.

I had heard about Harold's for years and finally made it for lunch. Went on a Sunday right at lunch hour and was wondering if there would be a long wait but were pleased to find no wait, although place was probably 80% full. Sandwiches were $30.95 which had me wondering. Regular sandwiches come in two sizes, Large and Extra Large. We ordered a large Hot Pastrami. Then stepped up to their Pickle Bar which was fabulous, probably 10 different types of pickles which you may help yourself to as much as you want. There is also fresh bread on the bar which is important. The sandwich came which was the largest I had ever seen (and remember I ordered the smaller choice). Probably 16-20oz of meat. We disassembled this monster and got some of the bread from the Pickle Bar. My Wife and I made two huge half sandwiches which was our lunch. There was at least 8oz of Pastrami left which we took home and had for dinner. So with drinks the bill was $38 before tip, this for two lunches and dinner. That $30 sandwich went a long way!!! Food and service was great, Place was unique. We will be back!!!

Harold’s New York Deli is huge in every way: gigantic deli sandwiches, the largest pickle bar in the world, and big flavors with prices to match. Not a place to go by yourself unless you want to violate the cardinal rule of “never eating anything larger than your head.” The menu is extensive, with a seemingly endless variety of deli sandwiches including all of the classics: pastrami, turkey, chopped liver, club sandwiches, all of which feed up to four people and are priced about $30. All smoked fish and great matzo ball soup including a large bowl with a matzo the size of a grapefruit. Each meal includes the vast pickle bar, with many different types of pickles, coleslaw, and breads of all kinds. As a solo dinner, I chose the grilled cheese sandwich, which was a bargain at $15 including the pickle bar. Highly recommend the chocolate cake as well. Plan on taking leftovers home! Located around the corner from the Sheraton Edison and near the New Jersey Expo Center. Owned by the former owner of the famous Carnegie and Katz’s Deli In New York. Fantastic place for a large group of people to share the massive portions.

The owner of Harold's Deli, was previously the manager of Carnegie and Katz Deli in New York City and very well famous for their sandwiches. Serving here are of astronomical proportions and will not disappoint you in flavor and freshness. I can't fathom the idea of a person eating a whole sandwich, they are humongous. They have been on many TV Food Programs, including Man vs Food. Come with family or friends and share this foodie experience👍👍👍

Fast take out and great choice of sandwiches. Called in order and was waiting for me when I got there. Since it was mid morning I asked for the meat to be wrapped separately from the bread. Small sandwich was enough to make 2 with all the fixings, mustard, slaw and 3 different kinds of pickles.

Overpriced overrated bland tasting food. If you like land food this is the place. Outdated place to eat. The meats they serve have no flavor. Brisket was a 1 on scale of 10. Onions ordered were a 1 on scale of 10. I saw a pancake for 35 dollars that could feed an army waste on a 5 year old. It is time to reinvent yourself harolds or they will be out of business in couple years. Never going back. Nothing but pickle bar to recomend

I heard many great reviews regarding Harold's quality and size of their sandwiches, especially the pastrami. I was so disappointed when my wife and I ordered a "Junior" size pastrami and virginia ham sandwiches. Though it quanilty was good, the size of the sandwiches wasn't worth the twenty dollars I spent for each one. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind spending the money if the sandwiches was worth it! Maybe because it was about closing time, the casher looked rushed, staff wanting to go home, who knows. It spoiled the experience.

Stopped into Harold’s on the way back from AC, which is a ‘hang over-lost all our money’ ritual. It was our first time doing take out and I wouldn’t rush back to do the same again. We ordered extra rye bread, as it’s the best around. Unfortunately, they no longer carry the hearty, delicious rye of old. They’ve replaced it with a rye that tastes more like white bread and is porous like wheat. No more dense, flavorful rye on the menu. Oh, and the ‘to-go’ fountain soda is served in a 2 lb deli container without a hole. Not sure how you’re supposed to drink ‘on the go’ and avoid spilling it on yourself without a straw. PS...a 2lb container does NOT fit in a car cup holder :(

Started with matzo ball soup. The matzo was so light and tasty and the broth was delicious. The waiter even brought a container of extra broth. Waiter was very attentive and food came out of kitchen quickly. The pastrami was so lean and it melted in your mouth. Even the fries were cooked to perfection. Never disappointed with food or service. BTW - there are restrooms!

I ordered a platter of meats to bring home for a dinner party. I inquired about the number of knishes to order for my party, and staff that answered the phone were fabulously helpful. They were also helpful in offering assistance with loading my car. The corned beef and pastrami (and knishes) were a big hit! Lots of leftover meat and bread to freeze for later.

What a great place to eat. They have everything Jewish done NYC style and it is delicious. Hugh portions, fast and efficient friendly service. My wife and I each ordered a sandwich, one pastrami and one corned beef. They are so big they provide 6 extra slices of rye bread to make additional sandwiches. Yes, there is enough meat for at least 1 more sandwich each. The sandwich includes unlimited pickles , cole slaw and salad. Each drink is a full 24 ounces big. Having said all that, the price is not outragous. If you are anywhere near Harold's it is a must visit.

Pick Up - St. Patrick's Day I have been going to Harold's for so many years but haven't (myself) in about 2 years. 1 Corned Beef Sandwich, 1 order of Onion Rings and 2 Dr. Browns for $60. The price of the sandwich is ridiculous. $35 is outlandish. People pay it because there are no longer any Jewish Deli's around that are worth anything. I feel taken for that price but it takes care of the craving 1-2 times per year. Would probably go more often but I just can't see spending that for a sandwich when I can go eat a porterhouse steak for close to the same price.

Everything here is huge. I tried pastrami for the first time here and it was a pleasant surprise. I got the junior sandwich and it lasted 2 meals. The matzo ball soup is amazing here and you must order it when you come. The matzo ball was the size of a large grapefruit. We also ordered a pancake, it was on a pizza tray and it hung over the edge, it was ridiculously big. The health salad and coleslaw was delicious here as well. The kasha here was great as well and I would recommend it. There is nothing that I know of that is bad here. On the way out we saw all the desserts, they were probably 1-2 feet tall. When you are near here, you should absolutely come.

We ate here over 2 years ago and just went back last night. I was in the mood for pastrami. Honestly, it’s good but not great. It’s certainly not Second Avenue Deli in the city. They win hands down for melt in your mouth hot pastrami. Harold’s certainly piles it on as you’d expect for a large sandwich $44.95. Quantity does not necessarily mean quality. The pastrami was on the fatty side and barely room temperature. A let down for sure especially at the double digit prices of most items. Matzo ball soup $34.95 really? it is probably a kettle The pickle bar is very good with a large selection of great fresh pickles. One more comment. The large sandwich is served with extra bread as the two of us ate only half the sandwich but the bread could be better, it was fresh but the quality was packaged and lessened the experience of biting into the sandwich. It will be a year or two if we return or in other words if we don’t feel like going into the city.
