Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I picked this restaurant as it was rated the highest in the area so I thought I’d give it a shot. I was eager for a cold beer and some fish & chips. I was shocked when the waitress recommended the pasta and meatballs and was so curious I had to see why the spoke so highly of them.
I enjoyed a nice soup and then the meatballs which were hands down the best Ive had. While I was eating live music began playing topping off a fantastic meal with a local small town ambiance.

The Quiet Man is a staple in our area but I just never made it here til now. Only sorry I waited so long! Very cosy atmosphere was only a little too much in the 4th quarter of an important game. Game not important to me to loud angry fans standing over my table was a draw back. But they left quickly and it wasnt a deal breaker for me.
The service was quick and attentive. Best house salad (to come with meal) and homemade house dressing I've seen in a long time. Thanks for dark leafy greens and radicchio in the salad! Who actually likes iceberg really!?
Loved my lamb chop entree with a surprising apricot chutney. My husband had the pork which was enormous but very amazingly tender. House scalloped potatoes were luscious.
Brought home half of dinner so we could leave room to try one of the myriad of interesting desserts. We had the sauteed banana in whiskey sauce over butter pecan ice cream.
Also, the hot apple cider and whiskey cocktail I started with was amazing!

This may not be a hidden gem but it certainly is the place where the locals go. While traveling on business I had the pleasure of dining here. In fact, the food and service were so good that I decided it was not worth going anywhere else during my week stay.
The braised beef ravioli in a deep red wine-brown sauce with mushrooms and chopped fresh tomatoes was elegant and very satisfying. The Shepheard's Pie was absolutely the best I've ever had at any Irish pub. It was also a good size portion. Quiet Man also makes their own Brown Bread that they serve warm with whipped butter. They also make their own biscotti to go with espresso.
I must also recognize that gals at the bar who were delightful in every way, attentive and anticipating every need, and just pleasant as could be.
There is only street parking on one side of the building so finding a spot can be challenging but don't let that deter you from visiting.

Years ago I went here and HATED the place. After a friend wanted to go there for his birthday, I went along to make everyone happy. The food has always been outstanding, but the service was rude, rushed and outright nasty. Not anymore. The service that night was exceptionally good and the waitress was an older woman with a very nice personality. I would normally give this place a one star review, but honestly, that waitress turned it around. I recommend the steak, bangers and mash aren't bad (I prefer it with onion gravy instead of mustard, but not bad at all), but I would avoid the Guinness. I found the pour to be off. Not creamy like a proper pint, but instead it was thin and too cold. Overall, I can see giving the place five stars as soon as my next visit as long as the service holds up. Great news.

GF and I went in May, 2022, and sat in a booth. While the food is good as always, we were told by our waitress we could no longer split the check (used to be ok; friend thinks the original owner passed and they've changed procedures). That is a turnoff to us (and the way she handled it) and they will eliminate alot of meetup groups from going there if that is now their policy. We won't go back for a long time, sorry.

four of us had lunch at the quiet man. All were pleased with their meals. Started with potato pancakes for appetizer served with sour cream and applesauce. They were hot and delicious. Two of us had the fish sandwich, one had the fish and chips and one had the chicken pot pie. Each of the choices were enjoyed by the group. Must mention the fries that came with the meal were very good. Service was attentive.

Food was yummy. I got fish & chips. Really good fish! My spouse was very happy with his shepherd's pie. Service was lackluster. Asked for lemon wedges for my fish, never arrived. Server only returned once we were done eating and asked if I wanted a drink refill. Too late. Note that there is no kid menu. Paid $12 for a very small side (2 oz. maybe) of penne with butter. Pretty outrageous.

I was born and raised in the Dover area. It has been 27 years since I have been back. I always remember passing the The Quiet Man and always wanting to know what was inside. It is such a cool looking building. 6-9-2022 I finally got to see what it is all about. I am so happy we stopped for dinner. The inside is absolutely beautiful. Definitely has the Irish Pub/Restaurant decor and feel. The staff are wonderful, and very attentive. There was a man playing acoustic guitar and singing classic rock. The menu is extensive including authentic Irish fare. The meals were excellent. I can not go on about how much I love this restaurant/pub!!!! Job well done. Definitely check this place out if you are in Dover NJ !!!!!

Wonderful local lunch, dinner, snack and drinks establishment. Well prepared food and cocktails. Friendliest service in the area. Can be a wait, but well worth it. Been going here for decades and never had a bad time, meal or drink.

A wonderful Irish Pub for lunch or dinner. Excellent food and staff. It was as if the pub was transported from Ireland.

Great local pub with quality food, quality drinks and great service. Be sure to try their French onion soup, potato pancakes, and the Ruben sandwich, all of which are some of my favorites.
Will return many times to come.

The food is always good, it doesn't matter what you order. My personal fave happens to be the crab cake. But, I have never had a bad meal and have eaten at least half of the items on the menu.
