About
Welcome to Mike's Italian Kitchen! Chef Michael Buckley and his wife Sarah first opened the doors on August 8, 1995 as Michael Timothy's Urban Bistro. Very quickly they became a success due to attention to detail and working hard to fine tune every part of the guest experience; from the food and wine to the atmosphere and service. The concept change to Mike's Italian Kitchen in 2023 brought back Italian homestyle cuisine to Main Street.

My husband and I went to MT's Local Kitchen & Wine Bar for our first wedding anniversary, we booked online and it asked if the dinner was for a special occasion and we noted that it was our anniversary. We were greeted with a "Happy Anniversary" by the hostesses, along with our waiter, and then had a card from the restaurant waiting for us at our table! It was such a sweet gesture and we were pleasantly surprised. Our dessert also had a little chocolate candy that said "Happy Anniversary" on it! So sweet. The gentleman next to us had his 3 young daughters with him for dinner and they were so nice and well behaved then paid for our dinner to boot! He snuck out before we could thank him for his kindness, but our server Sam (who was very nice and attentive) told us he was a regular and that they would thank him! We had such a wonderful experience here, the food was absolutely delicious and the restaurant was lovely! We will definitely be coming back to enjoy another dinner date at MT's!

This was a wonderful experience with our friends. Our server was knowledgeable and awesome, the atmosphere was lively and warm and the food was really excellent. I had the Shrimp & Grits appetizer as my meal and I was quite happy with it. The smoked tomato and tabasco pan sauce was tangy and full of flavor. The grits were super creamy and blended wonderfully with the sauce. And the shrimp were tender and perfectly cooked. I can't say enough good things about it. My husband loved his Braised Pot Roast as well and our friends shared a special pizza that they were very happy with as well. Also, the food came out piping hot.

MT's Local Kitchen provides excellent fine cuisine in a small storefront in downtown Nashua. We had a variety of dishes as part of a birthday party; the duck & mushroom risotto, steak, and salmon were all good. The waiter was also knowledgeable about the menu, and arrange for the dessert (a nice blueberry crisp) to be topped with a birthday candle & card. A nice way to spend the evening.

Michael Buckley continues to offer fantastic dining experiences. I was sad when I heard MT's was closing, as that has been my #1 choice in Nashua since he opened it (and Michael Timothy's before that). The atmosphere, service, food, drinks absolutely wonderful, and are the same high standard as always. You just have to try the Meatballs with Cheesy, Garlic Bread appetizer. Perfection. You get 3 very large meatballs, which was perfect for myself, husband and son to share. I got lasagne, one of the best I've ever had, husband got pork w/pasta, and my son had veal parm. All of us loved our meals. My husband got ice cream for dessert, and my son, Tiramisu. Both were delicious. I am planning on returning often; however, be aware that reservations are only available for parties of 6 or more, one thing I am very disappointed about. On a concert night at the new Nashua Center for the Arts across the street, it's nearly impossible to get a table at an hour convenient to the start of the show.

We were a large group of five couples getting together for dinner that was set up by a mutual friend overseas. My wife and I have dined here before, but it had been some time since our last visit.
I can’t speak for the rest of the table just my wife and I. We split an app and small salad which were very good. My wife had the duck and risotto and the entire plate was just lukewarm when served. I had a surf n turf special. An 8 ounce filet and 3 shrimp. I ordered the beef medium rare and it was medium, but that was fine with me. Potatoes were fantastic but broccolini was almost cold. And I expected the shrimp in a surf n turf to be at least shrimp cocktail size, these were small at best. Desert was good as were the drinks throughout the evening.
Rachael Jackson the GM was great. Very friendly when we arrived and checking on us several times. Our server Stephen and other staff were also excellent. They did a wonderful job with our large group.
Hopefully the next time we visit the entrée’s will be a bit more spot on.

We had a great dinner with excellent service. The Tuna special had a lot of flavor and the other dinners were enjoyable as well. We ate at 5pm so an early dinner which meant many people came in after us. That's where my only complaint lies with a front door that slams with a noise and shakes the chair you sitting in if next to the wall where the entry door is located. It needs to be fixed!!!

One of the reasons my husband and I like MT's so much is that there are enticing specials that provide new dining options. The food is always very good and the service is top notch. Cocktails are well made also.

Excellent food, nice atmosphere. This is one of my favorite restaurants in this group that includes Surf and Buckley’s steaks. They never disappoint. It a little more pricy than some places but the food is exceptional. The service is great. The drinks are wonderful.

My wife & I were looking for a quiet, relaxing night out for dinner. We decided to head to MT's Kitchen Wine & Bar. We had not been here for several years and had heard excellent reviews about the food and ambiance so gave them a try.
Arrived at 5:00 for our reserved table and walked right in. We elected to sit in the bar area and got a nice table near the bar. Our waiter Rip, arrived within seconds of us sitting down. He took our drink orders after he helped my wife decide what martini to order after she described what she was looking for. He was back in minutes. My wife's Nutty Irishman martini was perfect. She loved it. Ordered a second which is unusual for her.
For a starter we ordered warm spinach & artichoke dip. It was delicious. For entrees I ordered the sirloin steak frites and my wife ordered shrimp and smoked tomato carbonara. My steak frites were delicious. My wife liked her carbonara but was not crazy about the smoked version. Although she thought it tasted better after having leftovers two nights later at home.
We both felt the quaintness of the dining area was perfect. It was quiet too. We didn't have to yell at one another to hear. The bar itself is very nice. Great place for a drink & pizza. The rest of the dining area choices are nice as well.
Rip, our waiter, was great. Attentive, but not overly so. He was very helpful with dining & drinking decisions.
We'll definitely be back. In the warmer months they have patio sitting which is something to look forward to.

This was our first time here after the rebrand. Overall the inside seems to be much of the same as it was before. The food is good and they give pretty large sized portions. We had the Lasagna and the Sausage sandwich on garlic bread. Both were good and filling. The flavor was nice and from a food perspective I would recommend the restaurant. It is on the pricier side, think more like wine bar pricing. For 3 people with 4 drinks total and an app with tip came in around $160. The service was friendly but slow, it was difficult to get a second drink. Overall it is pleasant and nothing that is bad about the restaurant. I think for our experience and the price it is an average location.

I went there last night for my birthday celebration. It was good, not as special as in the past under the old restaurant. There were no specials, wait staff could not answer questions about the menu, much different than before. I had the sea bass it was excellent my husband had the lasagna. The red sauce had entirely too much oregano was reminiscent of Ragu jar, disappointing. You should have left the old brand which was original alone. Not sure why afternoon hours were eliminated sometime ago it was always busy on the weekend.

First time dining here. The Restaurant is a little small and there is a bar on the other side. People were very friendly, And a very nice couple actually hung are coats for us, cause it was so crowded at that point. Are server Raquel was great and very nice with excellent service. The meals were fantastic and drinks made perfect. The price is a little on the high side for food and mixed drinks, But worth it.

Updating my review as this is now "Mike's Italian Kitchen", a rebrand from MT's local. We enjoyed MT's for years with consistently good food and service and finally made it in to try the new format.
We had excellent service and enjoyed our meal. Cocktail service was as good as ever, and the restaurant still provides a delicious bread service and nice oil dipping sauce at no charge, Kudos!
We started with the meatball in cast iron for an appetizer and found these delicious. Three nice sized meatballs that had good flavor and texture in a tasty marinara sauce.
The seabass fish special was very good, accompanied with mafalde pasta with pesto, perhaps too much pasta on the plate! We thought the lasagna was also quite delicious. I had the pasta bolognese, which was supposed to be served with parpadelle, but instead was served with Mafalde pasta. While the pasta was tasty, I don't think that style of pasta is best for bolognese. As far as the bolognese, it was good, but not great. The primary flavor was sausage, which was not the meat flavor I expected. Portions are huge and enough for 2-3 people to share.
For dessert we had one of their "tall cakes", a real treat and enough for 3-4 people to share.
Overall a very nice dinner, but I will miss the format of MT's. Most important to know is that they no longer take reservations, and it seems popular. That will really limit the times we will visit and we certainly can't plan to bring friends and family not knowing we will have a table. I know others don't mind waiting an hour or more for a table, but that's just not my thing. I hope management reconsiders the no reservation policy. It is the same reason that we hardly visit Surf in Nashua, the sister restaurant across the street.

MTs is one my favorite restaurants that exists, it's always one that our family goes to for special occasions. Staff is always nice, foog is always amazing, and atmosphere is always chill. Really the only negative I would give is it's a bit pricey.

Excellent evening out at our favorite restaurant in Southern NH. (Sadly, the venue is changing Mid-May and will become "Mike's Italian Kitchen" and I'm sure it is going to be the best Italian restaurant in the area.) I'll never bet against Mike, he surpasses all my expectations when it comes to fresh, fabulous food and creativity. Our dinner of Tuscan Sirloin (a sign of the new times coming?) served on a bed of arugula and polenta was amazing! I adore the Field Salad and I hope that will remain on the menu going forward. We finished with Creme Brulee and cappuccinos. It was a great evening.
