My wife and I stopped in for lunch and a break from the road while traveling in the area. The Ridge is quite large inside and neatly decorated. They have various food specials and happy hours offers available daily. We decided to share any order...of nachos while enjoying our drinks. The nachos were good, but nothing outstanding. The menu is your typical bar/tavern offering and the prices are reasonable. My drink was very good and they do have a large enough selection of liquor to make most drinks. There are about 8 beers on tap. The service was great throughout our lunch break. This bar is in downtown area of Chadron and very close to the college. Based on the decor, including the mechanical donkey, I'm sure this is a popular hangout for the younger crowd.More

We were going through Chadron on the way home from Mount Rushmore and wanted to do a sit down for lunch. We had walked into the #1 stop in town but left with just a cookie as the menu did not seem that diverse. The...only other place open was the Ridge. It was clean, masks were not required which was okay by us. Ordered drinks and received them quickly. Ordered lunch and that is where it took forever. The place was busy. However, it still should not have taken that long. The cheeseburger was average, nothing special. The onion rings were to die for! That’s where the higher rating is coming from. I could have just ordered those. Did not get offered to refill our drinks. Waited awhile for the bill. The girl was sweet but I think she was overwhelmed with all of the other customers. Probably will stick to McDonalds or Taco Johns next time.More

We went to the #2 bar and grill and although fine was nothing special. The Ridge, on the other hand, had delicious home made food. Hand cut and battered inion rings, hand pressed beef burgers, good side salad, and hand cut and battered chicken tenders...not...overly breaded and large, all white breast meat, tenders. None of that pre-packaged frozen stuff the other bar used. The wait staff were friendly and provided great customer service. The Ridges is also the only restaurant open on Sunday night. If ever in the area again..we will go back. (For the food, service and price—not the decor😊)More

If you like your steak rare, this is not the place. The waitress took our order and I asked for ribeye cooked rare and also added that I really do like it rare...sear on both sides and then plate it. A man brought out my...steak and said “ribeye rare” as he placed it in front of me then left. My husband looked at it and said “that’s not rare” I really am not that person to send things back but, it was cooked medium. I did not take one bite and asked the waitress about it. She took it back then came back and said “he said that’s as rare as I’m going to cook it! I’m too busy” she said she asked him “do you want me to tell them that?” And he told her “yes”. (there were 2 other couples in the restaurant) my husband liked his hamburger. While shopping in town, I told a few local people about my experience and they all said “oh, I know who you are talking about...he is just that way” and then they told me their own negative experiences dealing with him.More

I was traveling across the country and stopped in Chadron because apparently I had ancestors that lived around here. In any case, I read the previous reviews and saw that somebody said it had the best ribeye they ever had. It is Nebraska, so the...meat should be good. Nice selection of beer - was the middle of May on a weeknight and was pretty empty. GS Warriors were on the TV. I ordered the ribeye and asked for some vegetables instead of potatoes and they found some green beans to go with the Ribeye. Oh,and it was the best Ribeye I have ever had. I should have asked how they prepared it but didn't. Everybody was friendly and if for some reason I am ever in Chadron again, I am stopping here.More

Our motel, the Best Western, recommended this sports bar. We were looking for a place to eat plus watch our football game. It did not disappoint! We shared a homemade chicken fried steak with hashbrowns and gravy plus a huge side salad. Add a couple...cold beers and we had a great time. Would go back!More
