Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We love Chico Hot Springs. It’s always very clean and the staff is very nice. We did have a problem with controlling the heaters. When we walked in the rom it was way too warm. We had a nice fellow come and adjust but it...didn’t seem to help much. After we were there a few days it seemed to regulate and we also had the windows open. We do love the restaurant and the poolside cafe really great food. And it’s a wonderful place for our little dog she loves Chic and the horses.More

Oh my gosh. What a great experience. The Dining Room is just off the lodge lobby. Service is very friendly and professional. This is a special-occasion restaurant - there was a wedding party when we dined - with prices to match, but the food is...excellent. Seeing the portions around us we ordered only entrees. I wish we'd had more people with us to try some other items because everything looked amazing. The wedge salads were huge and looked so good, as did the shrimp appetizer, mushroom appetizer - everything looked really tasty. I enjoyed the Earl Grey cocktail, which was perfectly balanced and fresh, with sage. There's also a huge wine list. My daughter loved her prime rib, which came with broccoli rabe and garlic mashed potatoes. It was really, really delicious. I had the flat iron steak with chimichurri sauce. It was sooo good. A large serving of tender, flavorful meat. The broccoli rabe it came with was also good, but the fingerling potatoes were out of this world. Tender, salty, flavorful. We shared the seasonal cobbler, which was also very good. I can't wait to return!More

Wonderful hotel located at the Chico Hot Springs. Rooms range from Conestoga wagons "glamping" tents to fancy historic rooms decorated with antiques in the main house. All rooms included access to the hot springs, as well as the gorgeous grounds around the area. The hotel...is quite remote, but I found the food available at both the high end restaurant as well as the sports bar type saloon to be very good and quite reasonable. Can't recommend it enough--certainly a great place to unwind after Yellowstone or Skiing!More

We came back both evenings, and ordered the Trout, which was perfectly prepared.! The weather was quite cold outside, but this dining...room was cozy, the serviice was wonderful and the chef prepared our food in a perfect way! Thanks for a lovely time!More

This is a fantastic place for date night or a special occasion. The good is out of this world good! On the pricey side but we'll worth the cost. Quiet and romantic. I highly recommend.

Did not stay at the inn but did a going away dinner. We have had family dinners at our local stays throughout the USA and this by far rates one of the best. We planned our day around dinner but were traffic delayed for our...reservation, gave them a call as soon as we got signal and they still took us on a very busy night. We all ate different varieties of their steak menu and each was done to perfection. I didn't need a knife to cut mine. The hostess and waitress were outstanding. Topped it off with several desserts and left feeling like our family trip was perfect.More

Horseback riding. Everyone in the barn is wonderful to work...with an make it great fun. The staff at Chico was very helpful and friendly. Plus the hot springs pools are wonderful to soak in after a long day. They are within 40 minutes of YNP.More

Normally I only write a review after a great or terrible experience. Tonight was neither. Four of us celebrated a special event in an iconic landmark. Never been there before and due to no signage had difficulty finding the main dining room. We started in...the well marked Saloon after finding no parking anywhere close. Got directed to the dining room and arrived at 7:17 for a 7 pm reservation. The head waited told me on arrival they only hold reservations for 15 minutes before they give the table up. I asked if he had given our table to another and he said, no. My mind immediately went to...why did he start out celebratory night with an unnecessary negative? Did he gain anything? No, he simply put us off. Once seated a lovely young man from Guatemala attempted to serve drinks and wine. He was clueless. We ordered meat dishes and while the meat quality and cooking temperature was excellent, the buckets of salt and cream sauces added were totally overpowering. None of us could finish the mains. The best offering was a diverse and well priced wine list. Had a great Southing Pinot from Sea Smoke for under $100. For such a great venue, these folks should step back, train their folks and match the food and service to the quality of their surroundings. And make guests feel welcome and appreciated. Been there, done that. Not again.More

Chico Springs is about an hour away from Bozeman, MT. Half of the way is on Interstate (parts at 80 mph) and the remainder on state highways (at 70 mph.) Chico is in Pray, MT and close to Emigrant. The original building, where the reception...is located, has small rooms, some of which do not have connected bathrooms. Other buildings are more recent and have larger rooms with bathrooms. A building in the middle of the complex is the convention center. A big attraction are the hot springs pools. They are accessible through the hotel lobby and the bar. Changing areas are available, but many people come dressed in their swimsuits and put towels (available from the hotel) on the benches around the pools. Drinks are available for the pool area from the bar and a pass-through window. The resort has a fine dining option--it was pretty booked when we reserved. Book early or you may find some menu options are sold-out. Be sure to try the chocolate-mint straws as you leave past the hostess station. Other restaurant options are the bar and a grill near the pools. Coffee and cold water is available in the reception area. The resort has a gift store and recreation options--horses, white water rafting, fishing, some of which are offered by other businesses. We found the reception staff to be very helpful and friendly. The dining room staff was generally attentive and pleasant. The room cleaning staff missed some items--in-room coffee maker not cleaned, shampoo not available, no bath mat on some days.More

My wife and i spent 3 nights here and had decided to spring for te caboose since it was out anniversary trip. THe caboose was decorated really well except that there were only 2 hard dinning room chairs to sit it, that is unless you...used the bed. I think they coudl have put a small sofa in place of the 2 chairs and made it much more comfortable. The bathroom was really nice expect that the door only had a very sheer curtain on it so when you were using the toilet the person in the next room could see you. I think they should put a more opaque curtain up for privacy. I also think they need to add a curtain to the front door because the car lights from your neighbor woudl light up the whole caboose and I am sure they could see right into the caboose. There was also what appeared to be mold in the shower and I asked the front desk to take care of it but after 3 days it was still there. I am not 100% sure it was mold but when you have a solid white shower and there is a 6" area of black you assume its mold. Not sure what else would cause a black streak in a white shower. The best part of the resort is the hot spring pools. We spent several hours each day in them and it made my aches and pains feel soooo much better. I woudl stay here again but not in the caboose.More

If you want fancy, the dining room is where it is at. This is the bar and grill that serves the pool and saloon area. We are out here frequently as locals and our band has played numerous gigs in the saloon or at event...held at Chico. They have a new menu item which is a Butte, Montana native dish called the pasty. We eat them regularly at home. They are doing a great job with theirs and I highly recommend trying one. Kind of a handheld pot pie. Great stuff. Especially by the pool on a sunny day or after too many beverages late at night. The BBQ bison flatbreat was very good too. Have had most of their menu and while it is not fine dining, it will fill the gap! Pool was 101F and hot tub was 111F so it was indeed Chico HOT Springs! Spent the day on our 26th wedding anniversary.More
