Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Chico has always been highly anticipated and a favorite treat of ours for fine dining for many years. We started off wrestling with attempting to cut the lettuce core left in tact in the Bleu Cheese Wedge Salad. I have enjoyed the Mustard's Pork Chop...countless times but this visit the size seemed reduced, though the Mongolian Sauce remained delicious as ever. My husband's Gorgonzola Filet Mignon arrived not as his ordered Medium Rare including the Gratin of Potatoes he had requested to be omitted and no extra vegetables as the server offered. The Cherry Lime Ginger Cobbler, hot and scrumptious, topped off the meal with a happy ending. Our disappointing out-of-the-norm could be answered due to the hospitality group buyout and change of chef.More

This is literally the best restaurant I have ever eaten at including upscale restaurants in NYC and Washington, DC! The steaks are perfect; the service impeccable, and the prices beyond reasonable. We have always been impressed with this restaurant and will continue to make it...a stop when we vacation in Montana.More

The food was pricey and average. Place was loud, service slow. Had some good wine! Not a good place to dine for vegetarians.

We had a lovely dinner. Wedge salad was great, my prime rib incredibly good, my wife has filet Oscar and she ate every bit. Mud pie for dessert was a great finish to our meal. Lizzie provided excellent service. We really enjoyed ourselves at Chico...once again.More

A very popular restaurant, clearly a “go-to” for a special meal if you are a local. Service was nice and the food good, and a good value compared to other high end restaurants in the area. Nice old Montana vibe, good atmosphere.

Terrible service. Arrogant, rude servers who apparently have been trained to equate arrogance with “high quality.” Not nearly the same as the family-owned business that built their prior great reputation. New owner is woefully inadequate in training staff. He is apparently deluded into thinking arrogant...service means high quality. Sad. Rethinking priorities is beyond their reach.More

After the spa we went to dinner. All 5 of us had a great meal and dessert. The service was very good and the food was prepared well. Try the flaming orange dessert, prime rib, ribeye, pork chops and mushrooms with elk sausage

Came in ready to drop a couple hundred dollars on dinner for two. Was quite happy with leaving, still hungry, after $60 of mostly wine and a little bit of lettuce. Apparently their business model doesn't include the words friendly or cheerful. A weird experience,...for sure.More

Order what you want and don’t look at the price. Every item was exceptional. Very good service. Don’t forget the signature flambé for dessert.

We stayed in a private, luxury cabin at Chico Hot Springs and had a long soak in the mineral water pool, putting us in a great mood for dinner. The historic dining is lovely, but not stuffy. The service is attentive, but informal. Our meal...started a well crafted Cosmopolitan, a simple drink, but the finesse of the bartender makes all the difference. I had a wonderful wedge salad and then an amazing steak, done to perfection. We opted for the flaming orange for dessert. It was the most dramatic presentation I have ever seen with a whoosh and three feet of flames that brown the meringue on top. There was a good selections of wine by the glass or the bottle. We opted for the bottle, since we could take it back to the room. This is a restaurant that can pull off a romantic evening or a family dinner with equal skill.More

Because of high demand, it is sometimes difficult to score a table at the restaurant. We happened to walk in and the staff was able to accomodate my wife and I within 15 minutes of our request. Considering the ongoing plague of understaffing, this was...a welcome surprise. The quality and taste of the mean was unsurpassed. My wife had the halibut, which had been flown in the day before, was tender, tasteful and the kale rissotto was unbelievable. My skirt steak was cooked to order but the pleasant treat were the smoke roasted fingerling potatoes. Staff is always on top of it and don't miss a chance to eat here if you have the opportunity.More

The dining room and staff are pleasant and welcoming and the menu is interesting. My trout almondine was well prepared in one sense--perfectly cooked and crispy on the outside, but it was not seasoned at all. No amount of salt and lemon juice could fix...it. The Earl gray creme brulee was delicious!More

Britany served us - and recommended 2 apps & dinner entrees that showcased the talent back in the kitchen. Every bite was a joy - beyond the ‘ranch style’ dinner fare featuring fresh ingredients from the garden out back. A very nice savory meal, sauces...and accompaniments to the local sourced / perfectly prepared meats. Sadly, they are currently only serving a continental breakfast - so the kitchen staff can’t show off their morning magic. Big enthusiastic thumbs up.More
