Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Incredible food with breathtaking mountain views! Our table ordered several appetizers to share, soup, entrees and desserts- every dish was delicious. The duck was especially remarkable. Inventive cocktail list and well curated wine list. Thank you for the friendly and professional service, Patty!

As we stayed in one of the ranch houses, we had many meals here, breakfast, lunch, dinner and bar visits. Very impressed with the consistency of the food and the service. In tune with the spirit and location of a Montana lodge.

Once in a while it's fun to enjoy the fine food and great service an expensive restaurant provides. Sadly, we received neither at Sage. Our waitress didn't know much about the entrees (a little shocking, as there are only half a dozen of them), and...opted to make up incorrect answers to our questions rather than find out. She also failed to check in on us after the meals were served, not visiting our table again until the plates were cleared and hoping we'd order dessert. And she brought our appetizer before our drinks, which is a big restaurant no-no. Two of the dishes were over-salted in the kitchen, making them borderline inedible. But with no staff anywhere in sight, we grudgingly ate them. The portions were meager, which is bad anytime, but especially at $40-$50 per entree. Half a duck breast and two lamb chops are not proper serving sizes. I can't say the atmosphere was a winner either. While it's obvious they spent a lot of money building the place, it was done without any imagination, and a pathetic attempt at landscaping.More

Breakfast was good and worth it. Dinner was a bit disappointing. Go to The Grill for dinner instead.

I live in Bozeman and wanted to try Sage Lodge. We decided to try the brunch. They advertised a carving station, omelette station, eggs Benedict etc. The lamb at the carving station was cold and medium well done. The ham was cold. All the buffet...items were full and had obviously been sitting there for hours. I tried the eggs Benedict and could not even cut it. The arugula was old and wilted, and the mesculin option was not quite as bad. My take home is Stay Away- let the tourists waste their money. BTW follow your nose is excellent. LodgeMore

We were really looking forward to Easter Brunch in the Fireside Room. We were extremely disappointed. For the price, the brunch was really not good. The salad greens were so wilted they were inedible. The English Muffin for my Eggs Benedict was so hard I...could not cut it with my knife. The service did not make up for the disappointment in food quality. The server took my plate and utensils after my first course, promising to return with new utensils. That never happened. Coffee refills were hard to come by and the choice for something sweet to end the meal was extremely limited. I would NOT recommend going to brunch here—not worth it!More

Very reasonably priced and a beautiful view of the mountains and pond. We even watched a young man propose at the pond while we were seated outside.

We stayed at Sage Lodge for three nights and ate at Fireside for multiple meals, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and take-out. I just loved the overall upbeat vibe of this place. Amazing view, indoor/outdoor seating options. The menu isn't extensive, but still had something for everyone...in my family of 4 (2 teenagers). Everything I ordered here was good, some great! The service was good and the waitstaff were mostly friendly and engaging. All around great experiences and I highly recommend.More

Beautiful place. Went for brunch. Toast was burned black and hard. When asked for a replacement piece it was white and simply warmed, not toasted at all. My 24 dollar burger was very small and less then 1/4 pound. I asked for med/well and it...came burned black. Even tasted charcoal. Dont mind paying for a good meal but expect it at these prices. Our first trip as a local an really hope it was a fluke. We will try one more time but really hoping they step up their game. Good help is hard to find so we will give them a pass on this one. Both meals were expensive and very small. I hope they correct this so we can recommend next time.More
