Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

New Year disappointment. Booked family dinner for New Years Eve. Ordered prime rib. Fatty, stronger and ate about 20% of it. Wife’s fish overcooked. Nothing on the plate was very appetizing. Service was just ok. Bar not that busy but took forever to get a...decent drink. I would take a hard pass. Just a big blah. Nothing clicking here whatsoever. I’m not returning.More

We had been at this restaurant in the past and had a fabulous meal so we decided to stop again. Sadly we had a bad experience Cold food bad service. No wonder we didn’t have a wait to sit. Hopefully they can up their game...to be a good resteraunt again.More

Possibly the worst service I have ever had! We were ignored for 15 minutes after being seated. Our waiter turned his back to us as he waited on the table next to us when we tried to get his attention. When we finally did get...to place our order we had to ask 3 times to get water. Waiter continued to dote on the table next to us and did not check back on us again. We had to search out another waiter to get a steak knife after we were served. The restaurant was only 50% occupied so it wasn’t that they were too busy.More

The fish was mushy and was not fresh the ribeye was one third fat one third gristle and the remainder was shoe leather We spent 165.00 for two with drinks dessert and tip included so it was not an inexpensive meal. It was one of...the worst steaks I have ever had and it was 47.00, thin and tough is the best way to describe it.More

Super experience. Wait staff was top notch and the menu was excellent. Plus full bar and nice wine list. We had lunch so prices were reasonable. Dinner menu looked a little pricey. Grilled chicken sandwich and chicken tenders were great. We had sweet potato fries...with them and the were delicious. Also tried the fried deviled eggs. New twist on an old favorite of ours. Pretty good!!More

Visited Livingston for a wedding. A really cute town. We had a lovely meal here. Trout was delicious and we enjoyed the smoked trout dip. Also one member had the steak which was amazing. Great service.

The food was not worth what you pay. Outrageous prices for mediocre food. Only reason I gave 2 stars was the service. They were friendly and checked back often. We will not be returning.

Appetizers to salad course was fine but entrees delivered before three bites of salad. Literally 3-4 minutes. When challenged as to the inappropriate timing I was told they could take them back. Asking if they would be remade the response was no they just would...be kept warm under heat lamps. Not appropriate for any of our entrees especially a rare $57 Rib Eye. A request was made to take the salads that were never finished off the bill. I was told there was nothing wrong with them and that there was no one in the restaurant that could approve the request. Warning -- order each course separately! With over 40 years of hotel, resort and restaurant operating and ownership experience this situation could have been easily avoided and would have kept us as future patrons.More

We had reservations and upon arrival were pointedly ignored by the hostess. Eventually we were seated, though it took quite a while. The server came and we ordered drinks, and my Mountain Mule was easily the worst I have ever had in history. We ordered...dinner and my date's steak was inedible. Tough, really tough, chainsaw material tough. The walleye I ordered was as dry as the Mojave desert in July, and completely tasteless. This entire restaurant is an overhyped expensive nothing. Or server was nice enough, but for the price that I paid for dinner and one drink apiece, having a nice server isn't much compensation. This place is NOT a Montana experience. Or, maybe it is, but it's a bad experience. It's pretty disappointing to go somewhere that has so much potential, and find out that it doesn't live up to even a fraction of it. The upscale menu and the high prices, coupled with horrible food, drove us right out of being regular customers. Since the steak was so bad, I took it home in a to-go box and we had a memorial service for the poor steer that sacrificed it's life for being ravaged at the hands of the kitchen staff, then gave it a decent burial in the back yard. Weather permitting, there will be a vigil at the site at a date to be determined. I would hug a porcupine before I ever even gave thought to going to this place again. Ever.More

We dined here for a late lunch. The service was lacking in that we listened to the server go on about wolves with one group of diners and then talking about his pancreas with other diners, all while waiting about 10 minutes for our drinks....The prime rib steak sandwich was like leftover roast beef served on white bread and the chicken sandwich did not come with coleslaw as advertised. We are locals and will never go back.More

LB&G was an all around excellent experience!! From the historical and inviting dark wood bar to the large windowed dinning area it was a totally comfortable experience The menu offered a variety of options from protein and fish to pastas and salads . The food...itself was carefully prepared outstanding. The staff was attentive and personable throughout both of our dinning opportunities. A must stop for anyone spending time in Livingston!!More

Wanted to like this place but not so much.... after the slow terrible service and the dinner with one of the ingredients left off. My husband ordered the Ahi Yakisoba, $28. It was a tuna dish that was very average and to make matters worse,...the menu states "topped with Asian Slaw" but it wasn't topped with anything! When we asked the waitress that came by, she said she would check with the chef, but she never returned with an answer or the slaw!! Our waitress said she was new so we tried to give her a break but the whole experience left us, literally, with a bad taste in our mouth. I ordered the Caprese salad. Tomatoes were tasteless, the mozzarella cheese was hard and cold and the balsamic dressing ... well you guessed it ... flavorless. We also ordered a desert ... big mistake .. it took 20 more minutes of being ignored with no desert in sight, so we just got up and headed out, grabbing our ticket, paying for this bad experience and left!More

A popular spot. We had Pasta Bolognese and St. Louis Ribs. Food was tasty and well portioned. I made the mistake of switching from Four Roses Single Barrel to Woodford Reserve bourbon. There was a weird taste to the second cocktail, I sent it back...for another, not much better. Could have been soapy glasses, moldy large ice cube or the bottle was bad. I ended up having severe intestinal distress starting at 11:20pm.More

Great place. We stopped in on a Thursday just after 11:00am. We had the place to ourselves for a while. Two in our party had the bison burgers and they were excellent. The french fries were excellent as well. The other member of our party...had the ribs, again excellent. The service was attentive and friendly. I highly recommend the place for a filling lunch.More

Stopped in for a quick, early dinner and fell in love with this place. Old brick building with 100+ year old gorgeous bar. Had the tuna yakisoba ( excllent) and the beef Caesar (very good). Great service, food was super flavorful. Wish we had room...for their desserts. They sound amazing. Great menu selection overall. Not open for lunch, just dinner.More
