Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The food was very good but the service was poor. We ordered more food than we should have and the cashier made sure we knew it. She didn't mean to insult us but she did. The staff preparing the food were loud and a little too playful. I'm all for an enjoyable work atmosphere but a manager should have addressed their behavior.

Please do not eat at this location. After waiting for over 20 minutes for our food, while we listen to the staff yelling and messing around, another guest came in and ordered and received their food before us. We went up and asked about our food to switch they looked confused. We had to give them our receipt to show them what we ordered, as they said they must have lost the order. We waited again for our food, and then finally asked for a refund after waiting for so long. The manager couldn't give us a refund because he didn't know how. I filled out a complaint and another manager reached out who stated they would give us a refund but because it has been a couple days he didn't know how and had to reach out to corporate. After waiting a week and never hearing back, I called again. They gave me a number for Angela Ramos, with corporate who they said was supposed to call me and never did. I finally got ahold of her after leaving a message and then calling back. She was incredibly rude and said since I lived out of town there was nothing they could do. She would not refund me card, mail me a check or a gift card. They could care less because I didn't live there. It was probably better that I didn't eat the food anyways, as the restaurant wasn't that clean.

Initially started eating at this Taco John's back when it was on Park St. in Livingston [1995 for me].
I haven't ever had any issues at either location except that once there was cheese on something I'd requested no cheese - they made it right without giving me any attitude.
In season the drive-through can be a bit crowded.
The food is flavorful and portions are decent size so as far as fast food goes it's good.

Just average or less fast food. Tacos were ok, nachos blah. Not many people eating in yet it seemed quite a wait for the food.

I don't normally eat at fast food joints. However, every once in awhile, it's going to happen. The restaurant was clean inside and the food was pretty good

Don't have any Taco Johns back in PA so after seeing a few I stopped in. Got the Street Tacos as a large combo. Large ended up being too big for me. Tacos were good, but hash browns were super salty. Staff is very friendly and polite and offers to clear trays as they make rounds cleaning tables. They also brought my food to me.

This place is clean and located centrally in town. They serve Mexican food with taste and Quality. Their service is fast and very good for a quick lunch during busy sight seeing.

Decent food at a decent price. $13 for three meals. Nice and quick supper before getting back on the road. For those gluten-free, corn tortillas are only used for the hard tacos.

Most of us would agree that we do not expect much when visiting a fast food restaurant. Due to the push across this land for healthier alternatives and the almost apocalyptic pronouncements of the danger of even one fast food meal being akin to smoking a carton of Pall Malls, one almost feels like a social pariah when darkening the doors of a fast food franchise.
Well I for one have had it with all of you granola crunching, self righteous, tree hugging, namby-pamby, subaru drivers. Gobble your tofu treats, live to be too old to bend over and buckle yourself onto your snowboard and shut the # up.
Most entree's at Taco John's don't have the same life extending properties as say your average, over-the-counter dandelion salad . And at Taco John's they don't pretend to grind your guacamole in a bowl hollowed from the lava rock found at the edge an ancient volcanic crater. They just make really decent, fresh, mid-western, "mexican" food. While that may seem to be an underwhelming endorsement, I will call your attention to America's love affair with the WhiteCastle of Mexican food, Taco Bell, and go on record as saying the Taco John's is far superior to every American TexMex rival including TB, (what a fascinatingly appropriate Abbreviation).
The Taco John's of Livingston is a cut above every other Taco John's I have visited. And I have been to a lot of Taco John's. I am a 46 year old man who has spent most of his life in midwestern villages where, for whatever reason, Taco John's were ubiquitous. I have eaten just about every fat-laden, carb-infused menu item at one time or another in locations all across Minnesota, North Dakota, and Montana as well as other states.
With that said, I will say that the Taco John's in Livingston Montana, gets my highest rating for cleanliness, efficiency, friendliness, and the overall professionalism of the staff. In Livingston and the surrounding area, including Bozeman, it is the best run, fast food restaurant by a wide margin. The quality of the food is also superior to every other fast food restaurant in our fair city, including the lackluster fare served at a regionally "famous", seasonally challenged, local burger joint. What gives people? For true in and out urges, hit the Livingston Taco John's. You won't leave feeling like you've been duped.

They were open on New Year's Day, even though they had a sign which said they would be closed. The two or three employees who were on site were working had, and provided a good timely meal.

As is the case with nearly all ethnic chain restaurants, this "West-Mex" Taco John's eatery is very Americanized. The food is prepared fresh upon ordering, and is tasty. The service was fast and efficient. The lady greeted us as we walked in. She knew the words to say to make a patron feel welcome, but she just didn't have the smile in her voice to make it sound or feel genuine. We've eaten here on a number of occasions, and will undoubtly return.
