Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Despite the fact that the 2015 release 'COWBOYS VS. DINOSAURS' thriller was filmed right there, both near the 'Mint' and actually inside it (in several scenes), I was somewhat disappointed to find that none of the left-over Raptorsaurus carcasses were utilised to make burgers for customers at this landmark Livingston establishment. The burgers served at the Mint are conventional beef, but quite tasty, as is most of the food served there. Try to imagine sitting there, downing a cheeseburger with some of Neptune's yummy 'Knotty-Lotty Latte Stout' as a Raptor with steel-sharp claws suddenly smashes in the door and heads for the nearest cute cowgirl, with a hungry look in his eyes! Regrettably, that unique experience was limited to a rather short duration when 'Cowboys vs. Dinosaurs' was shot inside the Mint, back in '15. Definitely worth the visit, however, since you never know what famous, wealthy Hollywood movie star might unexpectedly stroll through that same door! Part of the flavor that Livingston is so noted for! Bon appetit, y'all!

After a day in the mountains this was a wonderful way to kick of the evening. I had the fried chicken salad; the chicken was perfectly done, the ingredients were fresh, and the accompanying cocktails were delicious! Staff were speedy, welcoming, and Covid conscious. This will be my first stop when when I'm back in Livingston.

Food was good but wondering why they give you a 3 taco plate with a few chips and a tiny bit of salsa in a teeny paper cup?? Also, not sure the waitress enjoyed her job. Her back was turned to us as she stood at the bar, and we were never asked if we wanted another drink, or she never asked us if she could get us anything else! Left feeling confused.

Thank you, Susie. That kind of news breaks my heart. We always strive to be attentive, especially when it comes to drinks! I can tell you that Taco Tuesday is a promo night and the chips are more of a bonus, rather than a part of the meal. You can always order another side of the good stuff, if you want more! We will definitely have a word with our servers. Following up with tables is part of great service. They will be reminded. Thanks!
Best,
J

Halloween Saturday night dining was full of Tricks and Treats! The surroundings were festive and complete with El Dia de los Muertos decor and spooky skeletons everywhere. Our order of burgers was delivered with the incorrect choice of two Black and Blues leaving out the correctly ordered Cowboy burger. The salads subbed in place of fries were correct But we never received the Wings ordered. The cheesecake came out correctly. We regularly enjoy the Mint’s food but what a mixed up night. It wasn’t busy at the time of our dinner so no excuse there. The “tricks” of our ordered and delivered food were “treated” and reflected on our purchase bill. Thank You

Oh, Laura. I so clearly missed this review as I always try to respond right away. So sorry to hear about the mishaps. I'll have a chat with the girls and remind them to bring their writing pads with them. In the meantime, I'd love to extend to you a gift card to make up for the experience. Please email jackie@themintbarandgrill.com with your address. We only want to see people leaving happier than when they came in. Glad you liked the decorations though!

After a long drive, we stopped by the Mint for our first dinner in Livingston.
The people and the decor made the place feel familiar.
On top of that, the food was AMAZING.
I couldn't have imagined a better place to get a first impression of this lovely town.

Nice casual restaurant. Plenty of salads for vegetarians. Good sandwiches. We only wish they did not run out of their lobster roll special.

The Mint is a great place to grab a burger and have a beer. My family and I enjoyed it immensely before the annual 4th of July parade (on the 2nd) in Livingston, MT. Even with kids, it was a good place for a bite to eat. The country, Americana, and rocking blues playing in the restaurant was really good.

I highly recommend the hand cut potato fries. I can’t remember exactly how their preparation is executed (they soak in some type of brine or something similar), but whatever process they’ve come up with yields fries that are crispy on the outside while fluffy and flavorful within with a perfect amount of seasoning. They are the an amazing accompaniment to a pint of locally brewed tap ale. I regrettably don’t have a photo to share, but I don’t believe it would do justice to their taste and texture anyway.
To top it off, the servers/bartenders are attentive, professional, and engaging as well.

We just stopped in for a couple of cocktails. The history of the building is awesome as is the penny floor! The bar waitress was very knowledgeable about the history of the bar and was very delightful to talk with.
