Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stopped for lunch on our way to the Covered Wagon ranch after we left Bozeman. I happened to see the billboard on 191 for Stacy’s and it turned out to be a fabulous find! What awesome food! I had the prime rib sandwich and...my husband their burger. If I lived anywhere near Stacys it would be my regular go to place. Between the food, service and old west atmosphere it was definitely 5 star. Kinda neat that it once had a brothel upstairs too!More

We were excited to go here for dinner, live music and dancing based on other reviews. We looked at google maps to confirm it was open and get directions. All checked out ok so we drove over…only to find a sign taped to the door...that the kitchen was only open on XYZ days. It was a bummer not only because we were looking forward to it, but also because we had driven 30 minutes and now needed to find anywhere for dinner which was challenging given the time and location. So call ahead; don’t trust google hours!More

We were staying on Gallatin gateway skiing at Big Sky and ate 2 dinners here. All the meals were good. It’s a busy place even second week in January. Good steaks, drinks and dessert was homemade carrot cake which fed 3 and was amazing. Service...was very good both nights . We will return to eat here when we ski in 2024.More

You know what they say. . . The best thing about Bozeman is that it's just a short drive to Montana. . . . and Stacey's is legit, authentic Montana. If you're expecting fancy - go to Bozeman. No pretentiousness here, just really, really good...food in a cowboy bar. Steaks are easily among the top 3 in SW Montana and portions are generous. Pro Tip - Order the Steak Sandwich. It's really just a steak served with two pieces of toast for less than the price of a full steak. If you're feeling adventurous, try some Rocky Mountain Oysters. Piggy Wings are also delicious. Cheap drinks and stiff pours. Escape the college bar scene and come here on a weekend for live country music and dancing. Also don't miss out on the homemade desserts - worth the calories.More

We were recommended this place by someone in Bozeman, as great food and quintessential Montana vibe. Well, the vibe is truly old school Montana vibe. The food is SO DISAPPOINTING! My husband looking forward to a great steak dinner— his ribeye looked like a Golden...Corral THIN sirloin. I even had to ask and confirm that it was a ribeye. Definitely does not match the price they are asking. Just be aware that you can definitely get a better dinner elsewhere for the price and also probably a wonderful Montana vibe.More

This used to be a great place with good people, good food, good drinks, and cool memorabilia. Now, after being bought by new owners it just has good memorabilia. The food is not what it used to be, the portions are smaller, the prices are...higher, the wait staff are rude and slow, and the old west vibe is gone.More

Although Stacey’s Steak house & Bar are off the beaten path, this is a main stay for locals. A fun place to take visitors for a real MT feel. Loads of old photos and newspaper articles on the walls. Do read the Stacey’s story on...the back of the menu. Well worn wood floors, tables and chairs, the food & service is always good. If you want a really good burger fresh ground local beef or a steak that is tender and juicy, this is the place. I actually had Walleye fish w/ a side of sautéed mushrooms. The entrees come w/ 2 sides soup or salad all included in the price. Very reasonable prices for the quality of food. Everything is made in house. The bar side is easier to get a table in, if you don’t mind the sounds of a jukebox, pool table, laughing or chatter by the regulars. They are known by their first names. The bar is a nicely hand carved very old original bar w/ mirrors inset. Drinks are very cheap by comparison to most restaurants. This is a no frills place to have a meal and watch the regulars interact. We are locals, somewhat regulars but we are entertained by the regulars each time we visit. Noted: best burger mom has had in a long time. Husband had a steak, delicious. If you like French onion soup, order it! Live music on weekends.More

After spending the day on the river white water rafting, we stumbled upon this place for a quick bite to eat. The staff was amazing and very accommodating. We ordered our meal to go, however quickly changed our minds and decided to have a seat...and enjoy the restaurant and bar. The place is full of western charm and country music vibes. We were a little bummed we couldn't stay long enough to listen to a live band/singer. The food was good and the drinks were great. I would definitely recommend Stacey's for anyone traveling through the area.More

We went on a Monday night to try and eat dinner, and all they had available were drinks. They are only open for dinner Thur-Sun. At about 7:00, there were only people mainly at the bar, very loud. Nothing was available to eat—not even popcorn...or snacks, which is probably why people were dunk and loud at the bar. The menu looked good for the nights they are open however. Service was good—the waitress was friendly. The atmosphere was not good. Dusty, no ambience.More

Wasted 100$ on plates of FAT. It was mostly disgusting, and the shreds of meat were tasteless. I don't know how they get away with it. Also, staff did not mask, the place was packed (especially the bar - literally shoulder-to-shoulder), and only one other...patron had a mask on.More

We just got into Bozeman and decided to eat before we headed to Big Sky. Old Faithful Bar and Restaurant had good reviews and looked like a great start to our vacation. When we walked in we came through the bar area. Quite funny when...you walk in and everyone turns to look at you - cause obviously you are lost. The bartender directed us to the restaurant side. (I felt like I was in a scene of Cheers). The restaurant side is small with limited tables, but it was just us and another group. We were seated quickly and our waitress was wonderful you can tell she has been there for a long time. She provided good tips on the menu and good conversation. I opted for the blue cheese burger, my husband had the porkie sandwich. Both were decent portions and came with fries. We even got a chocolate chip cookie as a treat before we left. We will definitely return to Old Faithful.More

What a fun spot! Didn’t appear touristy at all. Saturday night and the place had a good crowd of what mainly appeared to be locals. It was a treat to watch the bartender, Lisa at work. Warm and friendly and extremely efficient she made us...feel very welcomed. Hubs ordered the porterhouse. He’s a whiz with steak at home and rarely eats steak out. He was impressed which is a high compliment for his palate. Mine was the Halibut. Expertly prepared. Definitely worth a go. It was recommended by a local restauranteur. Great little spot!More

Before I left Montana I wanted a big juicy steak. Made the right choice when I choose Stacey’s Old Faithful Steakhouse! We were seated right away and waitress took our order within minutes. Ordered a 14oz New York Strip side of sautéed mushrooms with soup...and salad. I don’t like my steak bloody and ordered it medium well. It was exactly the right temperature and very juicy. Salad was a nice size, served cold and crisp. Buttermilk dressing was homemade and delicious. Onion soup was very good with a lot of melted cheese which I like. Atmosphere was authentic western cowboy, no reproduction here. Prices were reasonable for the amount of food you get.More
