Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

After reading the reviews on this site we were looking forward to dining here. Service was good and ambiance was nice. The food was very average. Brussels sprout appetizer was almost raw. I should have sent it back but didn't. The steak frites was luke...warm but it had good taste. The waiter said I could substitute green beans for truffle fries. He didn't tell me ab out the upcharge. My wife had a Caesar salad and meatloaf. Plenty of food and good taste. But the thing that sent me over the edge was when I saw I was charged $29 for an old fashion. I ordered Eagle Rare and knew there would be an upgrade over their typical $11 old fashion. No muddling so the up charge couldn't have been from the labor. Not my kind of place. Bozeman has better.More

My son and I had spent the day driving around the area and got back into town a little after dark on a Saturday evening. We wondered into Copper and immediately relaxed with the warm feel of the place. Pickles were great as was the...rest of the meal. A definite recommend.More

We had a great experience at Copper. It was the Friday night of MSU graduation but we went early. Quincy was our server and I would give her a 10! She was attentive, helped us figure out a whiskey to try and had good menu...suggestions. She was really fun and we had a great time. The fried pickles were fun, the Mac and cheese were good and the walleye sandwich terrific. We had such a great time. It will become a favorite haunt.More

It had been a long day of work and I wanted to get something light and easy for dinner. After perusing Copper’s online menu, I settled on the bruschetta with added prosciutto and called in a to go order. But the time I arrived, my...order was ready, I paid and headed back to my hotel. The bruschetta was perfect. The bread was nicely toasted but not too hard. The tomatoes were fresh and juicy. The goat cheese added a nice little funk and the balsamic reduction gave a bit of sweetness. And the prosciutto was completely crispy. They were five little heavenly bites and were the right amount of food for me.More

The place has got a cool vibe. It's all cozy, dim lighting, nice ambiance—it's the kind of spot you'd want to hang out with friends or take a date. The food was ... okay. Not mind-blowing, but not terrible either. I mean, the food was...decent, but it didn't make me go "Wow!" The wait to get our food was very long though. We came in hungry, but had to deal with a half-hour wait before our main course arrived. That was no fun. Other than that, it was a good place to eat.More

This is a great restaurant in the heart of Bozeman! The vibe is definitely MT with a rustic atmosphere and inviting bar area. We were seated in a booth in the dining area. Our server was kind and very attentive without being intrusive. The food...was fabulous! My husband had ribeye steak and I had trout. Both were well prepared and delicious! The coffee was great and fresh! After our meal our server gave us excellent suggestions on what to see in the area while here on vacation! It was a lovely evening and experience! Don’t miss it when in Bozeman!More

It’s easy to miss Copper, because you enter by way of a door at street level that bears the name of the street-level business. Once inside, you descend stairs to enter this subterranean eatery. It’s worth the effort to find it—in both its vibe and...menu. It’s vibe is laid back, informal, and friendly—seeming to attract more local residents than tourists such my wife and me. Its menu is extensive In libations and modest—but not spare—in its edibles. It’s easy to build a meal from apps and sides, which is what my wife and I did. The entree offerings are less numerous and very traditional; eg, trout, meatloaf and such. We sat at the bar, correctly guessing there’d be brisk chatter between staff and guests—most of the latter being regulars from the neighborhood, which benefited we visitors in being directed to an ice cream establishment on a hot summer day Finally, Copper prices are mid-range, unlike its more expensive above ground Main Street neighbors—meaning a family can dine without busting the budget.More

We went on a Thursday night and we should have made reservations. Service from the bartender was great. The drinks were well made. The appetizers were enough for two people and tasted great. We were a little sticker shocked on the prices for entrees.

A very busy place for dinner and drinks. We walked in without a reservation on a weekend and got lucky to have a couple of seats at the bar. The service was good, and the staff was helpful with recommendations for both drinks and the...dinner menu. Overall, the food was good, and the atmosphere was lively.More

Ate here with a large group on business. I had an 8-ounce filet with mashed potatoes and it was very good. Service was quick for a busy night and considering the size of our group. Also had a flight of Montana whiskeys and they were...all quite good. Huckleberry ice cream to finish. All good, all pretty quick, and nice service from our waitress. Worth a visit. Pricey, but that's Bozeman in July,More

Woefully understaffed with the assurance that everyone would show up at 5. Seemed surprised and grouchy that people were showing up and asking for a booth while being corralled into the bar area. Food was bland. Steak was cold. My wife’s shrimp and grits were...great and hot. My guess is they plated the steaks then cooked everything else. Should have bounced when I noticed the restroom was straightened but not clean. Would have given them 3 stars but the bill was over $200 and that raises the expectations.More
