Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I’ve been dining at Plonk since its opening 20-some years ago and consistently giving it 5 stars in nearly every category. But this time is different. Specifically, the service was inattentive and nonchalant. And the menu is not as extensive in drinks, small plates, and...entrees. Okay, that takes care of the gripes. And they’re not going to keep me away, because it hits all the right notes in its liveliness, mid-high pricing, and—most of all—creative offerings that blend ingredients in ways you likely would never have experienced. So yes, make Plonk part of your Bozeman visit.More

This is THE upscale place for a very cool upscale wine bar experience. The wine list and wine cellar are spectacular! The bar is elegant Cowboy ambiance with nice beer options. Food all looked great but we only had the Ploughman meat and cheese board....It was a few bites of 3 cheese options and a few meats morsels. A but small for two, but honestly just the right size for a pre dinner or late night snack. Outside patio was very nice. Jadyn, our server, was attentive and friendly! Definitely wi be back ! Plonk was a fabulous discovery in Bozeman. They had a selection of Australian wine, which is very rare in the NW. The food was excellent selected from a super tasty menu. With a street full of restaurants we returned to this one twice in our...4 night stay . . .More

We stopped by on our walk back to the motel for a drink. We ended up staying for a few more as the vibe of the place was relaxed and friendly and we wanted to hang around. The drinks we ordered were tasty and well...made. I had the Last Word and my wife had the Old Fashioned. Several people in the bar were friendly and started up conversations about various topics which were all pleasant and enjoyable. The place was recommended by a friend who used to live in Bozeman and visits regularly. The experience did not disappoint.More

This is a cute little place! We stopped here because we heard about their back patio but unfortunately that wasn’t open for the season yet. We had drinks and desserts and it was all fantastic. I absolutely love my coconut lime Rickey! The sweet potato...tart and strawberries and ricotta were great as well! Great service.More

Drinks, eats and arrive were great until it came time to pay. We were a small group of five, and they Required we pay entire tab with one credit card which was extremely awkward and inconvenient for the one forced to pay. Spoke to manager...who refused to accommodate any splitting up of tab or multiple credit cards. Been going to Plonk for years since it opened, never experienced this before. Used to be the place to go as a group but will have to reconsider now. Real bummer.More

We were looking for later night eats after the rodeo @ MSU. This restaurant nailed it. Great cocktails, lamb chop special was fantastic as was the cheese & meat platter. We finished it off with a dark chocolate cheesecake that we split which was perfection....Great service, fun bar vibe. Happy to take our son out for a nice meal.More

My daughter and I appreciate interesting cocktails and food and are not new to fine dining. The menu selections we tried blew us away and we can’t wait to come back. Ever heard of hot mustard ice cream? Well it’s a thing and was scrumptious...on my thick pork chop. Also our server was not only delightful but also very knowledgeable. This place is super.More

I attempted to have dinner at Plonk. The wine list, both by the glass and the bottle, was extensive. Especially the bottle list. A pretty incredible selection. The food menu sounded interesting. I ordered the salmon. What I received was a 4-5 ounce piece of...salmon that was cold. Either it had been previously cooked and sat under a warming lamp or it had been cooked but sat too long waiting for it to be delivered. Even had it been served warm or hot, the portion size was ridiculously small for a main course dinner. The waiter never apologized or offered anything. He did, without asking, remove the salmon from the bill. I wouldn't return for food.More

We came here two nights in a row for after dinner drinks. The wine and cocktail lists are outstanding, as was the service. The first night we were there, they were so busy....I've never seen a server hustle that hard with a smile on her...face the whole time. I had the gin and juice followed by the coconut Rickie, and both were amazing. I can't recall what drinks my fiance had, but he enjoyed them too. Night #2 we came back for wine, of which our selections were also very good. I can't speak for the food, but absolutely recommend the beverages. The space is alsoassice and very cool.More

Our server was absolutely wonderfully and terribly overworked! She was actually too busy to catch her name, but she was blonde, pink satin dress and pretty eye makeup. All tables were full and in the hour that we were there for drinks she was the...only one in the entire place (indoors & outdoors) that we saw serving. She was actually running a few times. It was very clear that more staff is needed. We know and understand that there have been staffing issues as many places, however there a comes a point where maybe management and/or ownership should step in and assist if it's that bad. The good workers are overworked and get burnt out, eventually leave and the cycle continues. Our drinks were delicious, as always, and we always recommend Plonk to friends and family that are visiting. A few things need to change though. Please work on this.More

Limited gluten free options. But the main issue was bad or lazy attitude. One of our party never got his meal. When we pointed this out we got excuses. The waiter was too busy, the kitchen was too busy. We got a real ‘bummer dude’...vibe. We waited 30 minutes it never came we asked for the check the waiter said “oh I guess I’ll have to take it home.” No one apologized, asked how they could make it up to us. There are plenty of good places to eat in Missoula, this isn’t one of themMore

Utterly delicious steak and wine and hip look and feel to this popular Main Street place, but let down by some (we think) isolated rowdy diners and really slow service from the kitchen. The waitress gave us some complimentary bread and olive oil which kept.the...wolves from the doors. We would return but go earlier and avoid the back which wasn't as bright and as the front of the restaurant.More
