Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Going to a restaurant in any downtown on a Saturday night without a reservation is always a gamble. Thankfully, I lucked out because there was a single spot at the bar where they were able to put me. The wine list was very limited, so...I asked about sweet wines and the bartender said they didn’t have any (turns out this wasn’t true, because she offered sweet wines to the people next to me when they ordered dessert). I ordered the agnolotti and it took a while for it to come out, but it was worth it. Each piece of pasta was a heavenly pillow filled with a divine cheese filling. The sauce was interesting, but very light and the pine nuts added a nuttiness to the dish. I would go back for this pasta in a heartbeat. Then when I told the bartender I wanted my check, she seemed to need to do ten other things before she took care of me (including filling water bottles, even though they had six already full ones). The service and wine selection left a little bit of a bad taste in my mouth. But it didn’t make me forget the delicious pasta.More

The thin crust pizza was excellent. The plum pie was out of this world. Our server, Kaleigh, helped us select the perfect wine and was attentive and upbeat. Highly recommended. Warning: it is noisy

After a week of great meals and dining experiences in Montana, including Bozeman, Whitefish and Missoula, we had our only disappointment with Blackbird. From the moment we walked in we got a vibe that we were being tolerated. The hostess did not acknowledge us for...several minutes as she fiddled with an IPad. We were seated at one of those annoying tables where the tables are lined up on a wall with just enough space to walk between the tables. Our server was barely communicative. We ordered drinks, then after they arrived, we ordered the Cauliflower appetizer and two entrees. After a lengthy wait, they brought our entrees. We informed the runner who brought our entrees that we had ordered an appetizer. She left and came back quickly and removed the entrees. She came back a few minutes later to tell us she had brought the entrees to the wrong table. After another lengthy wait, the appetizer arrived. It was delicious. After our entrees arrived (hot plates that looked just like the ones delivered before our appetizer - still delicious), our server took my empty iced tea glass without saying a word. I assumed that she was going to bring a refill. I was wrong. After waiting a while, she came to refill my water. I asked for another iced tea. It arrived shortly. The server never asked how our appetizer or entrees were. At that point, another patron wanted to speak with the party seated next to us and sat down in the space between our tables, as though we were not even there. With the evening pretty much shot, we asked for the check. That came quicker than anything else that night. And of course, I was charged for 2 iced teas (I've never been charged for iced tea refills even at restaurants much nicer than Blackbird). We eat out at a variety of sit down restaurants regularly and I can't recall such unwelcoming and poor service. BTW, I used Resy for the reservation. Maybe they don't really want tourist to eat there.More

The pizza was good, and service was pretty good. The hostess was so incredibly rude, but luckily we didn't have to interact with her again after she seated us.

We had a great meal here! The food was absolutely delicious! My Italian husband was impressed with the antipasto of burrata that we had as well as the pizzas. We tried to find out the history of the restaurant....we asked if the chef or the...owners had connections to Italy, but no one seemed to know.More

This restaurant really made my day! The food was excellent and I felt like in Italy! The burrata was so fresh and good, the bread amazing and the pizza delicious. I suggest this restaurant for all the Italians that stop in Bozeman.

We enjoyed stopping in for dinner on the recommendation of a friend. We booked a table and arrived on time and were seated within a few minutes. The bread is delicious and I'm not a bread eater in general. We also each enjoyed a cocktail...and glass of wine with the meal. The selections are eclectic and are based on achieving a certain ambiance. This is not a run-of-the-mill menu and wine list. If you're adventurous this is an very approachable place to dine. Our dinner consisted of the pate with fig jam as a starter. I had the Bison New York Strip (delicious) and my companion had the Santo pizza. Everything was tasty, came out at the right temperature and was a reasonable portion. We did decide to forgo dessert and opted instead for a drink on the way back to our motel. Overall recommended and suggest a reservation to avoid long waits for a table.More

Went with a friend who was visiting Bozeman on a bustling Friday night. Fabulous food (we each had a pasta dish and shared a beautiful salad that was almost too pretty to eat-containing edible flowers etc.) along with great service. Fun place and truly exceptional...dishes~More

Very good pizza and service. Sitting in the main dining room allows you to watch the kitchen work, but we were seated in a different section. We had pizza from another Bozeman establishment a few days later, and thought it was slightly better.

The food here is okay but the service is abyssmal and the servers forget that their job is to serve. We ate here on a quiet weeknight, yet our table ended having 4 different servers; none pleasant nor their to provide oustanding service. It was...really pathetic and for that reason, I'll remind myself never to return.More

Great place. We ordered a margarita pizza & 3 pasta dishes along with the chicken & risotto. I saw a review lately and the lady said the food was burnt? She needs to realize the pizza's in a wood burning oven, come out looking burnt...but they are not. Anyway, the 3 pasta dishes were all fantastic and would highly recommend. Just a cool spot all the way around.More
