Thé Cabin Bar & Grill is our number one spot for dinner at Big Sky since it is excellent and within walking distance of Shoshone Condos. We dined there three nights during our recent stay at Bid Sky and had wonderful experiences each time. The atmosphere is woody casual Montana but the service is superb and caring, good wine list and delicious food. The sparking rose Cremant is particularly good as was the Bogle Zinfandel. We loved the Cabin salad, the walleye and the little filet mignons. Everything was perfectly cooked and served piping hot. One word of caution: be sure and make reservations since they are invariably full!

Excellent dinner for a special night out. Everyone enjoyed their meals from trout, elk, steak, and pork chops to the chicken tenders for the big kids. The service was very good and the view of the mountain was great. The location is very convenient. Save this one for a special night though because it is a little pricier.

The food and ambiance at Cabin Bar & Grill were great, but what really made our night special was our service. While driving to dinner, our car spun off the road and while thankfully none in our party were hurt, it did take us about 30 minutes to finish digging out and get to dinner. The host was incredibly gracious when I called to explain our delay, and held our reservation for 30+ minutes. We were greeted with a smile and immediately seated despite the delay, and it helped turn a very stressful evening into an enjoyable one. We could not have dreamed of a more accommodating restaurant, or a place that somehow seemed to melt the stress of our group as soon as we were settled into dinner. Not to mention we had delicious drinks, food and desserts! Thanks to the whole staff for taking such great care of us!

Tried to make reservation for a few days, left multiple messages, no one ever answers the phone at the restaurant. Came to see if we can be seated, met rude old man(host or owner) not sure, but he was rude arrogant, said he doesn't need our business and told us to leave . The prices are high. you would think that business owner would appreciate a dinner at least 150-200 for two based on entries $45-55, wine $16+. Would never go to that place again, and would not recommend anyone to go, There are plenty of other friendly places to go around.

We had an incredible experience dining at the cabin! We ate the beef filets and trout! The filets were tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection! Best steaks we have ever had. After dining at multiple locations this was hands down our favorite in Big sky! If you haven’t tried it this place is a must. The service was also super exceptional. Our server knew the menu and could answer any questions we had! So happy we found this gem of a restaurant!

Don’t dine here for lunch if you came to ski, it took an hour and a half for a couple of burgers and chili. Service was terribly slow, ran out of food and drink that was on the menu, server was rude when I asked about my order being wrong and how long it took. I am embarrassed for the big sky community as this is just wrong for a destination resort town.

Hmmm, sorry for your experience. I wonder if it was the day we did 200 lunches. What did we run out of? We have been in the Big Sky Community since 1978. Our restaurant has been on the mountain for close to 20 years, and we had a restaurant in the meadow for18 years before that. Apparently, we're doing something right. If there is something I can do to solve your concern, I would be open to talk to you. Sincerely, The Cabin

Handcrafted cocktails, garden fresh salad and veggies, hardy Montana entrees. Don't miss out on the specialty manhattan, cabin salad, Yellowstone River rainbow trout and sauteed elk tenderloin. If we were staying more than one night, we would have gone back so that we could try even more items on the menu.

We brought a large group to Cabin Bar & Grill and had a wonderful evening. The Elk tenderloin was a favorite as was the full compliments of tasty appetizers. We had no trouble finding and enjoying some fine wines from the impressive wine list.

We enjoyed our dinner at the Cabin Restaurant. It was right next door to the Summit hotel, where we were staying, so we chose it out of convenience. We really liked the atmosphere. It felt very "Montana" with its rustic decor and location right on the side of the slopes. We also liked that the tables were well spaced (this was our first indoor dining experience in a year). We were happy with our meals, too. I had the twin petite filets with mashed potatoes. The meat was properly prepared and I loved the bernaise sauce and the red wine garlic butter that it was topped with. My husband had the quinoa with vegetables. He enjoyed the variety of spices/flavors within the dish. We had very good service, as well. I think that folks who are more adventurous eaters would like this place even more than we did. They specialize in game dishes. But given that I only eat steak and that my husband is a vegetarian, I would say that our 4-star rating is quite strong. We had a favorable experience and would recommend this restaurant

When we checked into the Summit Hotel our bellman said this was the best place in Big Sky to eat. (Thankfully we already had reservations). I had the bison, my daughter the elk and my husband the pheasant and we started with the meatball appetizer. I would recommend all the dishes but especially the pheasant. It was so delicious that we begged for reservations the following night so I could get it too! The second night we again started with the meatball appetizer which had a different sauce but equally as good as the first night. My husband and I had the pheasant, and my daughter the pork chop. Again, everything was fabulous! Could not recommend Cabin Bar and Grill enough. You will not be disappointed! They also had a really great wine list - the best of the places we went to.

Reminded me of everything you’d get at Grandma’s house for dinner. The chili was very good, I got a “loaded” cup. Turkey pot pie was delicious with a thick flavorful gravy inside and a nice flakey crust. Came with a decent side salad. The others liked their Fish & Chips but I don’t care for seasoned fries personally. Service was prompt and friendly. Has a nice little bar area and a great view of the slopes.

This is an upscale rustic restaurant with great food and great service. They specialize in elk, bison and steak. We were referred by the Big Sky resort concierge and were very happy with the service. Can't say enough about the bourbon ice cream with caramel sauce! Save room. Overall good experience.

I was recently in Big Sky for a conference and I ended up eat at this restaurant twice because I had such a wonderful experience the first time. On the first night, I had the “special of the night,” which was a 14 oz bison prime rib. It was flavorful but I discovered that bison have much more fat marbling than cows do. I’m still glad that I had the opportunity to try this dish. The next visit, I started off with the New Zealand green mussels (I highly recommend this dish), and then had the Elk Tenderloin for my main dish. The Elk was incredible and made my top 10 dishes list.

My wife and I have celebrated our anniversary dinner here about 35 of our 45 year’s anniversaries. We were married at Big Sky 45 years ago, and Furst Place, then the Cabin are our go to place. Curly and crew are always great, and our dinner this past weekend was spot on! Great food, great service and a special request desert (I can’t tell you or Curly will not do it for us again) was excellent. We ate out on the deck on a beautiful summer night and we highly recommend this place. Coming skiing? Also the best lunch at Big Sky!
