This is the perfect stop for brunch with friends. We made a reservation and I was slightly disappointed that they put us at a bar table right by the door (it was freezing outside). I was hoping we would be in the back (main dining area) since we made a reservation. Next time I will make a note about that. Food was tasty! Our party had the blueberry pancakes, bacon and avocdado omlet, biscuits and gravy, and Irish skillet. My omlet was delicious! I would get it again. The pancakes were fine, but I would choose something else next time. Something that would be more of their speciality. We didn't sample our friends' food but it looked great and they ate it all. My husband had a bloody mary and loved it. Overall, the atmosphere is cool and they have a nice patio if it's good weather. I would go back!

Visited for dinner on a Wednesday night. Worth the short wait for the courtyard patio on a beautiful evening. I enjoyed the chicken almond salad sandwich (huge portion, fresh light croissant bun). My wife had the small Cobb salad, still a good portion. I had the West Coast IPA which was very good, my wife thought her light blond had a soapy taste though.

We weren’t really hungry, but stopped by to sample the spirits. Our server, Brandi, who was delightful, informed us that Brunch ended in 10 minutes, so we looked at the menu. Well, the Southern Breakfast sounded so good that we ordered one to share. We were not disappointed, it was absolutely delicious. Fun little spot, great cocktails, delicious food, and outstanding service.

Service was great and the atmosphere is fine. Sadly the food was just ok. We went for lunch on a Saturday. We had the cheeseburger and fries along with eggs, biscuits and gravy and grits. The biscuits were hard and the grits had no taste. The beer was good. So maybe go for a drink and skip the food . Lunch with tip was 42.00...way too much for food that's not good.

The place is in a really great location! Historic St Louis architecture is simply stunning! The building itself is also beautiful. The beer was well-balanced and flavorful. I had the Park Avenue Pale Ale. They also have a long list of house infused vodka and tequila for mixing with Bloody Mary. Mix was good too The food was less than amazing. I had the southern breakfast, recommended by our server. The jalapeño cheese grits, were no jalapeño or cheese flavored. They had no flavor, honesty and were a wet texture and were cold - Could have used a pound of butter and more cheese. The biscuit was great, with a crispy exterior and a fluffy inside, a tad sweet, though the gravy fixed that. The andouille sausage must have been boiled or steamed in watEr for days…. It had zero flavor and was also cold and wet somehow. My husband had the Eggs your Way. Much of the same… cold, wet, eggs. Cold house sausage, which was dry and also fairly sweet-flavored. A stout English muffin looked great, but wasn’t quite toasted enough to provide any crunch to the meal. My son had the pancakes, they were a shining jewel. Warm, fluffy, and not chewy at all. Big as the plate and super tasty. Overall, the concept seemed amazing, but the execution was off. Way off.

This brewpub is located in a nice, older neighborhood in St. Louis, in an older building. Outside dining was available but we opted to eat indoors. The beer menu was varied and the beer was good. The food menu was good with appetizers, salads, sandwiches and entrees.

Our first visit to Square One was during the Lafayette Square Garden Tour. The restaurant has a bar (with television) in the first room and a patio to the side. We were quickly seated in a room to the back. Our party enjoyed Fish & Chips and Chicken Tenders. Everything was excellent, especially the French Fires. Our server, Kelly, was attentive and prompt without being intrusive. This will not be our last visit to Square One.

We went early evening on a Saturday and only had a couple of apps. The "special" buffalo chicken mac and cheese balls were tasty and the pretzel sticks were hot and soft. The beer wasn't super and we thought could have been colder. Overall nice place and was welcoming.

What a great restaurant. Truly. The goodness delicious and perfect portions. Not ridiculously over fed. Amazing flavour in everything. We enjoyed the goat cheese spinach and artichoke dip. Grilled turkey melt. Steak and frites and a Cesar salad with salmon. Everything was done perfectly. A very interesting drink menu to compliment. The service was supreme. They care. Highly recommend!

I wished I lived in the neighborhood, because this would be my local hangout. We each tried a different entree and enjoyed them all, both salads and sandwiches. We also had their IPA and Stouts and they, too, were delicious. Since we won't be back anytime soon, we also tried their cocktails and a sample of four of their spirits. Definitely worth the experience...unique and tantalizing. We ended up buying two of the bottles to go. Don't miss this local jewel!

Great Beer, Great Atmosphere. We really enjoyed the IPAs they brew here. They also had fantastic warm goat cheese and spinach dip. Great place to enjoy some beer and next time we will definitely eat here.

The six of us had a very nice time at Square One. Nice casual-cool atmosphere and the food really was delicious! Everyone was talking about their excellent pancakes. Large portion sizes and the pancakes are gigantic so be prepared. Brian was our waiter and he was great! A very enjoyable time.

We were in town visiting friends and they suggested this place for lunch. We had a taste flight of 12 beers and 4 whiskeys. We ordered a pub burger, crab cakes and a Lafayette Square Philly sandwich. All were excellent. Service was spot on and helpful.

We used to live close to square one so we have been many times, but it’s been about five years since we have been. So happy we returned. We had a good dinner, and a flight. We had the French dip with mashed potatoes which was delicious! We enjoyed every beer on the flight as well.

It’s a great street and neighborhood, nice neighborhood-y feel. Inside it’s a bit of a strange layout. Some great seating areas, other look less appealing. But the service and food are all great, lots of drink options.
