We spent quite a bit of time checking out other options in the area for dinner. There were a lot lot of the standard chain offerings, and then some pretty drab strip mall places. One other place had a long waiting queue (must be good...also). Glad we ended up at this spot. Friendly bartenders and wait staff. Good, wide ranging menu. Not real happy with my selection (pizza), but that was on me. Steaks looked incredible. Listening to the locals it sounds like the seasoning is legendary. We'll definitely check this place out again.More

Popular spot for lunch and dinner so you may have a little wait time but it’s worth it. They have a full bar are and daily specials and a varied menu so you should find something to enjoy. The Tucker Burger is my favorite,1/2 pound is...perfectly seasoned and prepared beef served with soft cheddar cheese , onions and pickles and a side of crispy salty fries.More

My granddaughter asked for a steak to celebrate her Junior Class Ring celebration. We chose Tucker's, a place where I've many times. Worst service experience of my life. During the process of ordering drinks, our waitress seemed to be unhappy and irritated. When I asked...a busboy who was passing by for extra napkins the waitress "snapped" at me and said that she had already taken care of that. She then presented 2 napkins for a table of five. When she returned with our drinks, she served them in a manner that she was obviously not happy to be serving us. I inquired what was the issue and she stated she did not like me asking the busboy for napkins, as she had already addressed it. Her tone and demeanor were rude and sarcastic. I told her that she was being rude to us, at which point she slammed her fist down on our table and demanded we leave the restaurant. I've never in my life seen such behavior from a server in my life. I'm in my 60's and have traveled extensively. She is the winner of hostile and rude in my lifetime. If I were reading this post, I would say that this guy's probably and A hole and we didn't get the whole story. The manager moved "us" to the other side of the restaurant where a different waitress and bus team where working. The experience from that point forward was absolutely normal. But, the evening had already been destroyed for a 17 year old girl, her mother, father and grandparents. We will always remember being thrown out of a restaurant, by a waitress who hated her job. You did really hear the whole story. The manager took $18.00 off my bill in response. I gave the waitress who stood in that amount on top of her 20% tip. We went out for a celebration and found a waitress looking for a confrontation. Just thought an experience this bad needed to be passed on to others. It is now in the hands of their management.More

Tucker's Place has been in business for over 40 years. They started out serving pizza. (I'll have to try their pizza someday.) On Tuesdays, they have an all-day prime rib special. You can choose from either a 16 or 24 oz serving. For me the...16 oz was plenty. It was prepared to perfection. They serve the prime rib with sour cream, a horseradish sauce, and au jus. I dipped each slice first in the au jus and then in the horseradish sauce. Diners like to have options! The dinner started with coffee. The coffee was fresh but the server's assistant, spilled the coffee in the saucer. When the salad and bread came, I used my bread plate for my new saucer. Problem solved! The garden salad is topped with cheese that reminds me of what is called St. Louis cheese that began with Imo's but no other restaurants can use the brand name Imo's uses for the cheese because it's copyrighted. Tucker's offers a wide variety of dressing for the salad. I chose the house dressing which is a lemon pepper vinaigrette. It was a great choice! Tucker's Place also has a full-service bar and desserts. I couldn't even finish my prime rib and got that to go. Two things they could improve on--the decor is ok but it's dark in there even during the daylight hours. I recommend making it brighter somehow. The other is it's better not to overfill a coffee cup. That way it won't spill in the saucer and risk staining your patron's clothing. The decor ranges from cracker barrel like old photos and antiques to a hunting lodge vibe. Let's just say it's an interesting mix. My favorite are the old game boards they've hung on the wall. My advice is to experience Tucker's for yourself. Great food and service. I will definitely be back!More

We brought our 20 year old grandson here to celebrate his birthday. He's a big-time steak lover so of course we brought him to Tucker's. All three of us had the fillet, medium rare. They were all cooked to perfection. The others really liked Tucker's...special seasoning, but I'm not a big fan. Service from Germel was excellent. This is one of the best places for steaks in St. Louis and you can't beat the price!!!More

I sat at the bar as a solo and it was nice to see the place filled with locals, you know you found a good spot. I had the filet with the loaded potato and the filet was honestly one of the best I have...ever had, and I eat a lot of steak. There was a light glaze on the filet that really set it off. The temperature was perfect and it was very tender.More

Great restaurant. The food came out hot and they stayed on top of the drinks. My husband’s steak was a little undercooked but he said it was delicious. They brought me a baked potato instead of a sweet potato and quickly corrected it. I actually...LOVED their salad with their house dressing. It was very good. Their rolls are large but tasty. I had the grilled shrimp which were large and tasty. The waiter was very kind and upbeat and checked on us a couple times. It was an excellent suggestion by our hotel staff and we pass that recommendation on to you.More

We had lunch at Tuckers for our first visit and had a great meal. The restaurant has tons of character and the service was good. We started with salads and delicious bread and our entrees, Norwegian Salmon and marinated chicken breast were fabulous. The Salmon...is the best I’ve had in a long time. The price was reasonable as well. We were told by friends in the area that this was the best restaurant and we certainly were not disappointed!More

I have eaten at Tuckers in Soulard and it was fairly priced and good food but I have to say-we ate there in December and they were packed! I had the salmon for the first time and it was cooked perfectly and seasoned with herbs...and butter. My salad was crisp, the potato cooked fresh and the service was great! I cannot wait until next week to eat there again! We might have to eat there more than once so I can have my salmon and get my filet fix also!More

Had wanted to eat at Tuckers for a long time. Has the 16 oz filet. Steak has a different taste but definitely good. The “loaded” baked potato was robust. A lot of potato and very flavorful. Salad was good. Atmosphere great. Server was over worked...but he was wonderful. They seemed short staffed.More

Tuckers has always had good, not great, steaks. They were still tasty however and they have a great loaded baked potato. During the pandemic they became the go-to when our family wanted a steak. Then in May you couldn’t get carry out steaks on the...weekend. Now, despite what their Facebook and website states, you can’t get carry out steaks period. Really disappointed that coming out of pandemic they can’t figure out how to keep carry out. There are lots of good steak places in the south county area that still do take out steaks, so although we like them, so long Tuckers. Your short sighted practices have lost our business.More

I visited with a group of colleagues from work. We had good steaks, cheerful service and large portions. Only complaint is that the steaks were covered with a rather sticky, sweet glaze which overwhelmed the beef.

We placed our name on the list at approximately 7:30 PM on a Sunday night. Because of Covid restriction the hostess will not let your wait inside the restaurant, and the hostess will assertively explain this to you. Therefore your vehicle is probably the most...comfortable place. Mask our required until you get to your table. However I saw many customer walking out of the restaurant without them. The restaurant main fare is it's steaks. They have the main cuts ( fillet, ribeye, porterhouse). The steaks are severed with a sizable baked potato and a salad. The salad is a simple lettuce mix, an onion ring, a grape tomato and slice of a boiled egg. They have most of the dressing (Ranch, Italian, Blue Cheese) but they are missing Caesar. So don't bother to ask. Many other reviews talked about a "great service", however we had a 10 minute wait for our waitress. She seemed to want to just have us to give her our entire order, instead of the usual ordering of the entrée once drinks have been served. The waitress did check back once with us and offered us dessert which we declined. The steaks are of ample size. However if you prefer well done, there is a warning on the menu which states "Not responsible for well done steak." I ordered a ribeye and my dinner partner ordered a pizza with ham and pineapple. My medium steak was closer to rare but still flavorful. The pizza was thin crust and has a light sauce on it. There is a sandwich menu as well. This contains the general choice of buffalo chicken, philly cheese, etc. As for drinks the Tucker has a full bar and the general domestic beers. The restrooms are located to the right side of the bar and can accommodate three customers. They were clean and in good order. Overall the restaurant's food and service places itself which many of the other chain steakhouses.More
