We went here on a Saturday night and there a was a mix-up between the manager and the server, resulting in us not getting waited on for about 15-20 minutes after we sat down. However, we found the manager and notified him that we hadn't been waited on and the problem was immediately fixed and the server and manager went above and beyond to make sure we had a great dinner! The food was delicious! Our kid's meal and some beverages were comped for our troubles and they even brought out ice cream for our kids. Overall great place to go!

My wife and I, while touring St. Louis, wanted to experience the local Italian fare. We were glad we chose Lombardo's. The restaurant is contemporary in design with booths and tables nicely appointed and the waitstaff engaging and efficient. We had the feeling we were in for a nice evening just taking in the ambiance. Over wine, we both had the house salad - mixed greens, red onions, cheeses, artichokes, and tomato with a great bread service. For appetizer we shared their classic toasted ravioli - tasty and large. Our entrees were linguine Lombardo - sausage, onions, peppers in wine sauce, and fettuccine chicken Alfredo. We were most satisfied with our choices and completed the meal over cappuccino. Great food and a nice welcoming atmosphere.

We will definitely be back! Excellent food and impressive management staff. Our main course took longer than expected to arrive at our table but our waitstaff, management and the owner with great class came to apologize and made sure we were taken care of. In all my travels and fine dining restaurants visited across the nation, I have never had a restaurant staff & owner handle two delayed entrees with as much class as Lombardo’s Trattoria. For that reason, we will most definitely be returning customers. Appetizer: escargot (good), house salad (excellent). Main entree: Veal Saltimbocca (superb! Best I’ve ever had) Lombardo’s Linguine (a solid good choice.)

What an amazing experience! Our first time to this fabulous restaurant, but it will not be our last. Our server, Ty, was attentive. The food as well as the ambience were fantastic. We each got different entrees and we were all very pleased. I had the steak and it was so tender I could cut it with a fork (had a black peppercorn gravy, that was very tasty). The tiramisu was the best I’ve ever had (and I have been to Italy several times). Great evening!

Hate to say, the linguini sea food dish was absolutely tasteless, overcooked pasta and very little seafood in it! I had the garlic and olive oil sauce. Could not even taste the oil or garlic. A disgrace to a simple Italian dish. Then the waiter did not inform us that they could not do separate checks for each couple in the beginning and when dinner was done he says it, leaving us scrambling to separate our share. Not everyone had cash and so it was a very unpleasant experience! Do not recommend this place and surely we are never going there again

I am nearly speechless about this experience. The atmosphere matches all these amazing reviews, but apart from that I am STUNNED that this is ranked the #15 restaurant in STL. I was wary (should have trusted my intuition) since it’s connected to a hotel, but reviews on this site have never steered me wrong. Until today. Food was meh. Like it was food and it was edible and not rotten and the ingredients matched the menu description. But the flavors were weak, the food was warm but not hot and - I wish I was kidding - from seating to bill we were there for twenty minutes. They brought us bread and immediately the appetizer appeared. The toasted ravioli were again…fine? Like probably if Trader Joe’s had toasted ravioli you could make in your oven it would be the same. Our main course was the veal. The meat itself was not seasoned, the breading was not crisp. If it was not microwaved and splashed with a microwaved sauce I would be stunned. The pasta alongside the veal was probably boiled fresh…that’s a low bar but seemed like a win. Honestly this is a low grade Olive Garden or a classy fazoli’s. I guess STL is not a foodie destination and that’s fine, but there has to be at least 15 restaurants better than this one? You can’t have a relaxed, romantic meal in 20 minutes. Maybe they were irritated we only had water to drink? I feel like I just got pranked.

I took my 7-year-old son with me to Lombardo's Trattoria for my birthday dinner. We have stayed at the Drury Inn Union Station hotel many times when visiting St Louis, and this time we chose to check out Lombardo's, which is located in the lower level of the hotel. The location is great. It is right across the street from Union Station, and just a couple minutes to the St Louis Zoo, Art Museum, Science Center, and many other great attractions. Being in the lower level of a historic building, I was expecting Lombardo's to be dark, but it was surprisingly inviting. Along with an abundance of mirrors to make the space seem bigger and brighter, the staff was warm and inviting. Our server was attentive and friendly. She had a new employee training with her, who was also a pleasure to talk to. They were responsive to our every need. In addition to the exceptional service, the food was outstanding. They served two types of bread; a traditional crusty Italian bread, and a focaccia bread. The focaccia bread was outstanding. For the main dish I ordered the rigatoni trattoria, and I was not disappointed. My son ordered rigatoni marinara with meatballs (special order). The portions were large and the sauce on both dishes were extremely flavorful. The Italian sausage in my dish was spicy, and the mix of cream sauce and marinara sauce perfectly complimented it. The meatballs on my son's dish were huge and wonderfully moist and flavorful. For dessert, I had the carrot cake, and my son had spumoni. His spumoni was good, but my carrot cake was the best carrot cake I have ever had. The carrot cake was delicious, and the layers of cream cheese frosting were not overly sweet. We were there on a Tuesday night, and the place only had a handful of guests. I can not say enough good things about Lombardo's, the food, or the staff there. I highly recommend them to anybody who is going to St Louis and staying near Forest Park. I will definitely be dining at Lombardo's every time I come to St Louis. I'm sure there are other excellent Italian restaurants on The Hill, but when you have found perfection you don't need to look anywhere else!

Very good Italian food; best for a romantic, intimate, quiet atmosphere - although we were there on a weeknight in March - so nearly had the place to ourselves. So, for us, service was great. Food is on the "fancier side", and expect to pay for the premium. Not exceedingly high, but above average. For example, we had a portabello mushroom appetizer (was about $13). There were 3 of of us and we tried a chicken dish and a couple of seafood dishes. Better than you'd get at a typical Italian restaurant. Servings were large and filling. Good desserts, excellent cannoli.

Lombardo happens to be my last name, so I had to check it out. The food was delicious, and I was not hungry for the rest of the evening afterwards. The waitstaff was very friendly, and we met the owner, who was also pleased to have us at his restaurant. Highly recommended if you are in St. Louis and want great Italian food.

We held a rehearsal dinner for our son's wedding. Throughout the entire planning process Tony Lombardo was as helpful, accommodating and informative he could possibly be. It was our first (and only) event like this but Tony's assistance was invaluable. We had last minute cancellations and Tony was totally flexible in adjusting the orders. The service was fantastic as was the food and drink. We highly recommend Lombardo's for banquets or just a great dinner for a few people.

I had made a reservation & discovered that this lovely restaurant was within walking distance of our hotel. Sweet! We shared a Caesar salad which was very good. Our meals (Veal Saltimboca & Rigatoni Trattoria) were excellent as well. The wine list had good price points & we had ordered a Cabernet @ $38 to accompany our meal. Share the delicious chocolate cake - IF you have room. It was heavenly!

We had dinner with another couple at Lombardo's and were so glad they had suggested it. We were staying at a nearby hotel so it was a very short walk. We all started out with the fried ravioli - wow, they were delicious and not heavy at all. The guys both had pasta with seafood dishes, the other gal had the fish special and got a huge piece of fish and I had the veal saltimbocca which came with a spinach pasta. It did have a little too much cheese in it but that didn't stop me from enjoying every last piece. The service was very good as was the atmosphere of the restaurant. The manager stopped by our table to check on us, despite it being very busy at the restaurant. If we every visit St Louis again, we'd definitely go back!

Our first experience will guarantee future visits. A relaxed but excellent Italian restaurant with a menu of expected choices blended with creative and fun options. Great wine and cocktail choices. Our meal was expertly prepared, delicious and the courses were perfectly timed. Our server Derrick was attentive and helpful with the menu options and wine selections. An excellent discovery for our short trip to St. Louis. We will be back.

Had dinner here with 11 others. Served family style. Flash fried spinach was a treat, calamari strips were very good, particularly dipped in the marinara sauce, and the fried ravioli was very good too. My seafood linguine was excellent, full of different kinds of seafood which tasted fresh, and my wife had the Chicken Parmesan which was a nice portion and tasty. Caesar salad was just OK. Whip cream oriental dessert on a chocolate crumb base was tasty. Good coffee Very attentive and friendly service. A definite plus. Had several Italian meals while in St. Louis and this was clearly the best.

We were staying at Drury Inn Union Station for a nice weekend getaway. We wanted some place close to eat after traveling all day. This was perfect place, in the lower level of the Drury. We had about the meat filled toasted ravioli and it lived up to the hype. Really really good! For the main course, we had Linguini Lombardo and Rigatoni Seafood.....both good rich comfort food with so much flavor. Will definitely eat here again next time we stay in this area!
