We had thought it might be quiet on a Tuesday evening but we were glad we booked in the end as it was full! A lovely building, part of an old mill which has had a fairly recent make-over, I believe. The hostess was charming...and helpful and coped well with the numbers in the restaurant! Our meal was very pleasant - my mushroom starter was very tasty.More

The garden is set next to a mill with beautiful views across the country. The food was all very delicious and the set menu was good value. The owner and waiter were very attentive and even organised for us to get a lift back to...our hotel from some local residents which was very kind and beyond our expectations.More

We had hoped to eat in Orbec but the restaurant was full ( Sunday lunch time 12.30) and the charming waitress suggested this restaurant in a small village about 4 km. away as there are no other restaurants open for Sunday lunch in Orbec. We...had an excellent lunch here. Pretty restaurant, excellent food reasonably priced with friendly helpful staff. We arrived just before 1pm and got the last table. Within 10 minutes of our arriving another 4 were turned away. When our main arrived I mentioned to our waitress that we had to leave by 2.30p.m. to catch a boat from Le Havre - she could not have been more helpful. Our mains were whisked away and our cheese arrived together with the bill within 10 minutes. The waitress also suggested the next time, if we have a time limit, to mention it as we order the food and they will make sure to prioritise if necessary. Next time we are in the area we will definitely return to this restaurant and allow ourselves more time to enjoy the very tasty lunch.More

It was madam Annick Dubois from Le Manoir de L'engagiste who advised us Le Moulin du Fossard. We did not doubted her advise and made a reservation directly. The food and the service met our expectations. We had a very good diner and a nice...time at Le Moulin. Also the kids enjoyed it!More

This is only the second time we have eaten here...and again we have promised ourselves that we will eat here more often! The food was outstanding; fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. We chose the 26€ menu, had a aperitif and a carafé of wine for...two of us for under 70€. The menu here changes regularly and it is great to be able to see it on-line. This meant we could really study it at our leisure, at home, and not be hurried into choosing. We will be returning.....More

The menus are changed every 3 weeks approximately and are always interesting. Good value for lunch on weekdays for the2courses ,more expensive at the weekends. Will need to eat again in the evening if you lunch there.

Absolutely outstanding position for the venue situated within an old watermill. The staff were excellent and explained well the menu, the service and the food was the best I have had in any restaurant EVER

We have tried to get into this restaurant a number of times, as a walk in, only to find it has been fully booked. This gave us a clue to how good it was! This time we booked and chose a quieter day. We were...not disappointed. The décor of this converted mill is stylish and elegant. The waitress spoke excellent english, when needed, and was very friendly. The food was fantastic! We ate with friends and the four of us enjoyed every bit of the well presented, beautifully cooked food..... the rabbit was so tender and it fell of the bone, the fish was excellent and the sauces so tasty. The menu changing every month, and being posted on the website, is a bonus and will certainly keep us coming back. My husband and I had the 25€ menu; 3 courses (desert or cheese is offered) and a carafe of really good red wine, plus an aperitif for 65€. This is definitely on our list of local good restaurants and we will definitely be visiting again!More

This restaurant is a couple of miles outside of Orbec (on the Lisieux road) a very pretty little town with many quaint streets and interesting buildings, If you have been visiting in the afternoon the Moulin du Fossard is an ideal place to go for...dinner, as we did. The setting is very pleasant. The old mill has been sympathetically restored with the old workings on view as you sit at the tables (unless you choose to dine on the outside terrace overlooking fields). the food was very good, and the service friendly and helpful. Would have liked to return but time didn't allow.More
