Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I write this review in large part to inform others of my recent experience in using online ordering and social distancing at this restaurant. Of course, the food quality is also important, so I’ll start there.
The food at Rich and Charlies was great, as always. I had the BLT pasta and my companion had chicken spedini. The salad was very good, as usual, as was the side pasta. Oddly, bread was apparently tossed directly into the plastic take out bag – no separate bag or wrapping. That’s not a problem for me but might put off some.
I had problems with the online ordering. There was no obvious way to make a special request (re: sauce). Also, I submitted the order once, adding a tip. It didn’t “take.” I submitted a second time and left off the tip. When I got to the restaurant and informed them about the special request, they said, “Next time, just call.” (Yes, for sure. Order by phone!) The worst thing was, I asked if the tip had been added to my bill, and the employee showed me the bill and said no, so I left a cash tip. The next day, I noted the tip had been ordered, thus I double-tipped!
As for social distancing at Rich and Charlies, when I entered the lobby, there were about five employees standing in the reception area. None wore gloves or masks or seemed to be maintaining a distance. (To be fair, this was the first weekend of social distancing rules.

Overall, a good choice for lunch. Like other places, the prices have gone up. Expect to spend about $25.00 per person even if you are ordering off the luncheon menu. NOTE: This amount includes 20 percent tip. If you are on a budget, you can save a few dollars by just ordering water with your meal.
It took about 5 minutes before a server acknowledged me and is possible the host that seated me did not alert the server that she had a customer. And you can't see all the tables from the kitchen because of the wall that separates the kitchen from the dining area. My suggestion here is better communication between the host and servers.
Once I was acknowledged, service was fast and efficient. My server was very professional. I ordered the Chicken Marsala with Mostaccioli and the house salad as my sides. I actually thought the sides tasted better than the main course. The chicken was tasty, but I thought it could use more of wine mushroom sauce than it had. It didn't seem to have much if any breading on the chicken. The bread was crusty and warm.
I will definitely return. My advice is if you are in a big rush this isn't the best choice. If you only have a 1/2 hour lunch break, I recommend ordering online, in advance, even if you are dining in. They will not be open on Easter Sunday.

Three adult family members had an early dinner at the Crestwood Rich & Charlie's. Table service was excellent, friendly & patient as we discussed our orders. All dishes were very tasty in reasonable portions (Mostaccioli w/ Meatballs and 2 Taste of Italy Specials). Still, the entree/specials prices were on the high side compared to competitors we've visited around the area in the recent past. But this is a favorite restaurant for one person in our party (who lives nearby), so I'm sure we'll be returning.

My favorite local italian place. They give very large pasta portions for the money. Cheaper and larger portions than many other local italian places.love their cajun chicken pasta and their cavatelli. They have very good garlic alfredo sauce. This is also a good place for st.louis style pizza. Honestly i think better than imos.they have very good salads and good toasted ravs. Also very good canneloni. Cant say i have ever tried spaghetti here or most red sauce pastas. Mainly because i can make those at home cheaply.

Ordered carry out. When I went to pick it up I was greeted by several friendly hosts /servers. My order was accurate and ready as promised. I ordered the Chicken Modiga, Italian Fried cheese and a kids pizza. Everything was wonderful. Ingredients were fresh and hot and the portion was perfect. I worked at the So co location for several years over 25 years ago and everything was just as I recalled. We will definitely be back. This is a great locally owned Italian restaurant. Hill quality food in Crestwood!

This restaurant is famous for great food and outstanding service and our experience confirmed it. I had the seafood cannelloni and it was delicious and there was plenty to eat. Wife had the Shrimp Tuscany which was also delicious. Salads are great! Our evening was even more special because of our server, Angela I. She was outstanding. She provided excellent service and was so friendly.

I never eat at Pasta house anymore since eating at Rich and Charlies. The two brothers (twins) are the Best waiters to be found anywhere.
We always get the Chicen Emil they have this down to a science. I have never found any restraunt that even compares with that dish. Salad is great. The bread with sesame is very good. I try not to eat the whole meal but always end up finishing it Also a thumbs up to the guy that clears the tables. Please tip well. This is my famlies go to place when we can eat out. We felt the safety measures are being followed.

Have heard about this place for years. Finally got to go. The famous salad I’d everything as advertised. Food is good. Good old Italian. Will be going back.

While we were in St. Louis on vacation, I wanted us to visit restaurants that we can't find back home. The twins chose Rich and Charlie's, because my son wanted Italian food (even though my daughter thought it looked a lot like Olive Garden).
You have to give them credit, in that their waitstaff is extremely friendly and helpful, especially when our server found out we were in town on vacation, and gladly suggested a few other eateries for us to try out. He also was very helpful when it came time for us to select items from the menu.
The kids really enjoyed the salad (which I passed on), and the garlic cheese bread was definitely strong in terms of garlic, but not unpleasant. I also liked the warm crusty bread served before the meal.
In terms of the main course, I found my spaghetti and sausage to be lacking in overall flavor (though the pasta held its heat quite well throughout the meal). The kids seemed to like their main courses, though they weren't able to even get through their full portion of the "all you can eat" deal we opted for.
Based on personality alone, I'd be willing to give them another chance. However, I'd hope that they can make some minor adjustments to their menu to give their dishes some additional flavor.

Good quality food and service, but the restaurant seems too "franchise-like" and too touristy- routine and mundane. Ask for daily specials, and stick to Italian menu items. A bit pricey for the quality of food and franchise experience.

We frequently eat at Rich & Charlie's or get carry outs (1-2 times per month). The entrees are usually very good, especially the chicken, pasta, and sandwiches. The servers bring you your food, but are inconsistent in checking on your needs for water, drinks, bread, salad, etc. They seem more interested in getting you back out the door.
I quit ordering beer here long ago because it is warm. I have brought this to management's attention, but after getting mere dirty looks, I just gave up. It's either tea or soda for me. Pity.

Ate dinner here with my daughter. I ordered the blackened chicken and pasta. I got a half order which was plenty big enough. It was a little too spicy for me but still good. The salad had a good taste but was really soggy like it had been sitting to long in the dressing. The cheese bread was also a little soggy and could have used more time under the toaster. The tiramisu was very good. Our waiter was great. All in all just an ok meal. Felt the prices were a bit high for the quality of food.

Our entire family met for dinner and a catered gathering. We had salad, meatballs and marinara, toasted ravioli and three kinds of pizza. It was all delicious. The service was great and we had a private room.

After reading the other reviews, my friends and I decided to try this place out. We arrived about an hour before closing and were sat quickly.
The bread was warm and served with butter which tasted fine. The salad on the otherhand, which were getting such raves on here, was mostly iceberg and onions with too much dressing, so it was limp. I ordered toasted ravioli to start which was ok and chicken spedini with marsala with red pasta as the side. The chicken was a little dry but the marsala helped but the red pasta was bland.
My friends that ordered the blt pasta and the 4 cheese fettucine were more disappointed with their choices than i was with mine.
So not a place I'd revisit if i found myself in st louis again.

We visited this restaurant on 8/7/18 when were staying in St Louis area. We tried two different cannelloni dishes which were delicious. We also enjoyed good service and would return if the opportunity presents.
