They have the best Carbonara in town. The portions are very generous. The lasagna is good too tastes and looks like vodka marinara vs regular ted sauce. Good cocktails.

My wife and I went to dinner with our son and girlfriend. We ordered 4 different meals and each enjoyed them. DJ played great 60-70s dance music. We will visit again.
Terrible. Only one server during the day. Brought food out, left sitting for 10-15 minutes before serving. Cold, sent back. Only thing good was salad. One lady didn’t get hers, they left in oven and it was burned. Never cleaned off table, we had to...do it so we could open gifts. We will never go again. Weren’t many people thereMore
Drove up from Arkansas to have early holiday lunch with special friends. Worth every mile. Definitely recommend the spinach salad. Friend wanted shrimp off the menu and her order was happily done. Only one 'front' room staff, but he handled all customers efficiently and with...a smile. He never hurried us leaving us plenty of time to catch up -- first in-person for this group since covid. Appreciated. Note: at least for this visit, the road construction made entry via Target parking lot a bit easier.More
----- Concise Review - Still great, after all these years! ----- Longer Review We have visited Candicci’s since they moved to Ballwin so many years ago and have never had a bad meal / have only ever had great meals. We have so many favorites:...- the house-made bread and dipping oil and wonderful spices - Tutto Mare and Langusto Supremo - Crabby Nicholas - fish topped with cheese, wonderful sauce, crabmeat and lemon butter - Beef Modiga This night we had another family dinner... one that moved from edge-of-hunger to filled bellies driving smiles and fun. We enjoyed: - Arancini - balls of risotto + cheese - House-made toasted ravioli’s - the best anywhere - Shared salads - our favorite - Langusto Supremo, gluten-free (GF), for my wonderful wife - Veal Parmigiana - Pasta Carbonara - Uno Pizza Jeff, our server, was friendly as the rest of the staff, and made us welcome. They also had live music that night and he was a good guitarist + singer. Thank you, Candicci! ----- ----- Previous Reviews 3/15/2017 Another great dinner... take-out this time! We spent longer than expected having fun skiing at Hidden Valley and got into the van for the drive home either already hungry or about to get that way. So our daughter smartly thought that we should call Candicci's and gave food waiting. We had snacked a bit at Hidden Valley, so we ordered a bit lighter than usual, and it turned out that we ordered just right... only three toasted ravs remained when were done (all three ready for Monday lunch). We had a great dinner of some of our favorite Candicci's standbys: - house salad with their great dressing - the great, fresh bread and butter - two orders of toasted raviolis - one full order of fettuccini alfredo We all had just enough to fill our bellies for a good night's sleep well earned on the slopes, and with smiles on our faces (and the hunger was long gone). Thanks, Candicci's! Thanks for the great birthday dinner, my love! My wife had a great idea for my birthday dinner - Candicci's! It was time for some good eating. As usual, we all enjoyed the awesome bread and dipping sauce, and butter.... and also Candicci's great house salads. Our son and daughter also enjoyed an order of winge. For the main course, we all enjoyed: - daughter: veal angelina - son: salmon with pasta and red sauce - wife: Langusto Supremo - me: Linguini Tutto Mare... All were great, as we have come to expect... consistently great food and atmosphere and family fun when we have dinner at Candicci's. And the waitress was especially helpful this evening, too. Had lunch today. Food and service was excellent as always! Everyone wore masks and tables were spaced atleast 6 ft apart. Great experience!
Ate here for lunch. Very good lunch menu with numerous options. Service was GREAT. Food was average. House salad was good. Carbonara was a large portion, and chicken was good. Sauce was overly thick and bland.
Two weeks ago ordered pasta, toasted ravoli, salad and cheese sticks. It was excellant. The cheese stick was probably best I ever had over sized looked hand made. Next week we orderd everything but not the pasta. It was horrible. Cheese sticks look like they...were frozen fried and toasted ravoli was under cooked. Tried to contact them via email to be fair before I posted. I have no response.More
We did curb side take out due to Covid 19. Even making appropriate allowances, the food was absolutely horrible. The chicken marsala simply did not taste good, the pasta that came with it was awful and the salad was nothing to extoll. My pizza was...supposed to be N.Y. style which is thin and crispy and usually at least edible in most places. Here it was extremely puffy and thick everywhere which is no style I am familiar with. But, whatever it was, it wasn't the N.Y. style advertised. And it tasted terrible meaning the crust. Even worse, the toppings tasted terrible too and even seemed uncooked even though the dough bottom was nicely browned. Even my wife who is not as picky couldn't eat a bite of it. It was one of the worst pizzas I can recall since we moved to St. Louis. We both feel fast food or Olive Garden would have been a way cheaper and a way better tasting choice. Our favorite 2 places before this pandemic ruined everything were Mia Sorella for both entrees and pizza and East Coast pizza for pizza. Both of them apparently are closed indefinitely so for now I have personally given up on the idea of good Italian food in St. Louis. This was one of the worst meals we can recall. Frozen food at home is what we should have done in hindsight. It was obviously too much to expect a nice meal for take out, at least from this place. If what we got is typical, I cannot conceive how this place got 4 stars. It goes without saying we will not be returning ever. Personally, this experience has soured me on take out from anywhere except fast food until this Covid 19 thing is resolved.More
We've eaten in Candicci's before, even in their old location years ago in Clayton. Easter Sunday with the social distancing, without the family, looked bleak. Then I saw an article in the St Louis Magazine email about carry-out nice dinners for Easter. We ordered the...dinner for 4 (for really only the 2 of us). It was so nice, didn't have to cook on Easter or Monday. We had their delicious house salad, toasted ravioli, beef roast slices, sliced Honeybaked ham, good sized containers of mixed veggies and mac & cheese, huge warm rolls, and lemon meringue pie.. It was very tasty and a bargain for $75 on a holiday. During this time of sheltering in place and the restaurants not allowed to serve inside their building, I'd highly recommend ordering from a local restaurant like Candicci's to help keep them in business so we can enjoy their food when we emerge from this weirdest of times.More
Great local Italian food! Started off with amazing bread and olive oil. We had house salads, pasta of course (seafood ravioli was great), and nice atmosphere. Not loud. We were in the area and glad we stopped.
My husband and I recently had dinner here for the 1st time, we would not have chose to eat here except the management was generously hosting an event to assist the family of my husbands recently injured co worker :( The place was very busy,...which was a great thing for the event. We ordered our drinks and were also given some nice warm bread with a great dipping oil. Our appetizer was the shrimp gorgonzola - AMAZING just wish we had more bread to soak up the cheesy sauce. Our salads were the house salads w/their own dressing - GREAT again, just wish it was bigger (well at the time we did lol) when it came time for our meals, we were pretty full already so we opted to get them to go - again GREAT just wish the servings were bigger. We will be back, but probably just for drinks and apps or might even try a pizza next time :)More
Italian restaurants are about the sauce. Their sauce was not to our liking. I had lasagne which was one of the worst I have ever had and I love lasagna. My husband had the specialty Malone pasta bowl. It also was not very goo. We...just didn’t like the red sauce used to make the dishes.More
This was our second visit to Candicci’s in about a year. The first time we were very disappointed, but we thought we would give it another try. We had lasagna and the house salad. The house salad was pretty good, however the lasagna was terrible....It had absolutely no taste. The frozen Stouffer‘s lasagna is better than this. Needless to say we will not be back to Candicci‘s.More
There were 17 in our group and Candicci's handled us easily. This is a fine Italian Restaurant with traditional Italian meals that are all excellent and plentiful. You don't leave Candicci's feeling hungry. You need a rest after such a fine meal. Great food. Great...Service. Great Atmosphere. Owner stopped by to see how we were doing and whether we were enjoying our meals. Definitely we were doing fine!More
