The restaurant is located in a charming old building which serves also as an hotel. One can also have dinner outside. There's a la carte and a three course meal for just € 20! Wines are also reasonably priced. We started with a saumon terrine...and a salad with foie gras and smoked duck (€ 3 extra). Followed by a very tasty springroll with duck and wild rice. We ended this wonderful meal with pavlova and a cheese platter.More

I rarely write a review but tonight I am compelled by my own conscience. I had previously hear a commentary on this restaurant which made me want to visit. On the occasion of my birthday I thought I'd be in for a treat. We were...given a cool but adequate welcome by the two gentlemen who administered our table. I use administered thoughtfully!! The menu was provided, we had to ask for a different menu for our son as although he has a good repertoire of foods, none were child friendly. I started of with the seafood starter which was advertised with basil. The chef I think opened a bag of frozen seafood mix, added in a few vegetables and served the slop in a cassoulet. The sauce had some flavour, but the unappetising grey boiled seafood certainly did not correspond with the menu description. Next I chose the lamb with the lentil. The lentils were fresh, light and with lovely flavour. I asked for my lamb very saignant and it arrived at least Medium but I actually didn't know what meat I was eating, flavourless, overcooked and no seasoning or love. I think the chef spent more time on the dish, inventing various designs to write in balsamic glaze on the plates. The staff were easily forgettable, the service not exciting and had no care, or investment in the needs of the diners. It was very adequate. I don't know what's happened in the past few months as I had heard a great review of this endroit its has obviously gone down the sewer. I was so dissappointed and the final cherry on my cheese plate was someone's hair, thankfully I had at that point eaten my demi Rocamadour, Auvergne and Entredoux. I live in a local village and am always looking for good local restaurants, sadly there is something not worth much with this Victor Hugo, pass on by ..More

A friend kindly took my wife and I out for a birthday evening meal after our friend had eaten there for lunch and found it to be of good value and quality. Sadly this was far from the case only a few days latter. The...food was very poor quality bad cooked and our host remarked the following day that her meal was "inedible". Unfortunately we are not the kind of people to complain and definitely not inclined on this occasion as it was a "treat' and had no desire to upset our host. However, complain we should have done, my wife found a strand of wire in her rice! We will never go to this establishment again.More

Found this after about 8 phone calls. Very pleasant surroundings. We went for the top menu and we were not disappointed. Staff however could have been more attentive. While not busy they were functional rather than making us feel at home. That said, Recommended and...will visit againMore

This restaurant was highly recommended. We sat in a back court yard, ours backs to the street filled with moving cars. Very unpleasant. Food was adequat. The other terrace, facing the river, although not filled, was never proposed to us.

Very hot day. We sat in the shade in the rear courtyard but they had some tables on the other side of the hotel which were out of the sun completely. An excellent meal (salmon tartare and assiette lotoise) complemented by two cafés gourmands -...coffees with three small desserts. Just right in both quantity and variety. Certainly worth walking to the other end of the square.More

Very friendly staff and very helpful as we had a very young baby. We sat outside as it was a very hot day but everything about the restaurant was good. Well worth going and we all enjoyed our different courses. Classy food.

Visited for dinner on a quiet mid-week evening. Surprised to be shown to a table at the far end in a draught by the open bar door. Plenty of other tables so this spoilt our enjoyment somewhat. Before the food arrived we requested a move...as it was quite cold. Instead they closed the door which was then opened a few minutes later again! Really enjoyed the food. Lovely fresh ingredients served attractively. We will be back so hope for a better table next time!More

There are a lot of little restaurants in the region but this one is for sure one of my favourite! When you arrive in front of the venue you will be charmed for sure. It looks really cute from outside. Inside there is 3 different...atmospheres. First the bar that look like a basic cafe. Then right behind you got a nice restaurant area. Wood on the ceiling.. very nice. And after this there is another restaurant area but the vibe feels more modern. I was in the middle section which was great. Quiet and a lot of room between the tables. Food and service was great and also a very nice selection of wine. 100% a restaurant I recommend in the region as it is pretty hard to find a restaurant with this level of service in the area. And of course the food was great!More
