Took mom out for (very) early Mother’s Day dinner, as we now live far away. Asked for a table near the entry as she isn’t too mobile and got a great booth. Service was excellent as usual. This is our Go To celebration restaurant due to easy parking, great food, and excellent service. Server offered us an extra appetizer for the occasion AND there was a mini cheesecake dessert on the house as well! We shared a few salads, the crab cake appetizer, and the spicy shrimp app. All told it came to barely $100. Even their entrees are fairly priced compared to the competition.

Excellent service makes a difference.

We were in the Boston area dropping our daughter off for her first year in college. We love Ruth's Chris and thought we would swing in for a celebration. We've always loved the steaks here, but our waiter, Scott, recommended we try the bone-in cuts. What a difference! Best steaks we've ever had, and Scott really made the night with his attentive service.

Great Steak House with Exceptional Cocktails

The restaurant is really one of the best Ruth's Chris Steak Houses I have dined at in years. The drinks are perfectly prepared in every way. Shrimp cocktails are huge, and the best is Ruth's Chopped Salad. Also, all steaks are delicious along with the loaded baked potato. Service was excellent, and Ethan was a superb bartender in every way. I highly recommend this restaurant and would return.

Never Again

All around terrible experience. TLDR: poor service, gross steak, 2 hours for a dinner for two. Our server was a nice guy, but was rarely available as he was assigned a huge table in the next room. It was a very long wait for our meals (though the appetizer came almost immediately). I didn’t receive the salad from my pre fixe meal until I said I’d never received it after our steaks arrived. Our server was shocked and apologized, but he should have known this and didn’t because he hadn’t been by at all since dropping off our drinks. I also never received the dessert that was part of my pre fixe meal. We had to ask the manager for our check when he stopped by our table since our waiter had been MIA for 30-40 minutes. Cleanliness/food safety: The hostess brought our appetizer out and her incredibly long blue fingernails were on top of the top late touching our food. The busboy dropped my dressing on the floor then asked if he could still pack it and then touched my food with his hands (accidentally) when putting it in a to go box. Gross - how is either of these okay? To top it all off, the food was mediocre at best. My filet was over cooked and dry, my husbands NY strip was over cooked and super tough. The food was of a quality I’d expect from an Outback Steakhouse, and I get much higher quality steaks from the butcher for far less. The appetizer (stuffed mushrooms) was okay, but felt reminiscent of frozen food. Ambiance was disappointing, it did not feel like a nice (and expensive!) night out. We absolutely won’t be back as we left feeling ripped off - $189 for a dinner for two that was of poor quality with bad service and no ambiance.

Fast Food At Inflated Prices

Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse in Waltham is fast food at inflated prices. The entrees arrived while we were still working on appetizers. We were a party of six with 6:45 PM dinner reservations and were seated promptly, but they evidently wanted us out the door by 8:30 PM, and frankly, for the $750 we spent there, I thought we were entitled to a more relaxing dining experience that didn’t remind us of Applebee’s.

I have been a regular customer at the Ruth Chris Waltham, including durng the pandemic where tried to do regular take-outs. They seem to have the same issues with the personel shortage. I could reserve a table for 4 and a table for 6. Once we arrived to the restaurant I asked them to adjoin the 2 tabkes to make it a table for 10 (that was the size of our party). We were told it was not possible. We would probably have had a tab for $1.000. We ended up at Bertucci's across the street.

Very good but very pricy

Took mom out for Mother's Day last night. Tables are well spaced, staff is all masked. Wife and mom each had the crabcake appetizer for their dinners (2 for $22, dinner portion is 3 for $35??) and they shared a Chopped salad and the mushrooms. I had the lamb chops ($52) and the gratinee potatoes. I know it's Mother's Day and there were lots of families there, but there were multiple families with small and constantly screaming children that took away from a bit of the grandness of a Steak House. Food was good and filling, no room for dessert. Some tables got roses for the ladies for Mother's Day. Some did not. :(

We had the worst service and also the food was not what it used to be. We sat in the bar area. It took forever to get served and the bartender was our waiter. he had no clue what he was doing. it was our anniversary and they did nothing for that. My husband was eating and he came over and took his plate while he was eating. We ordered expresso and we got one sip out of it. He charged us $48 for 2 glasses of house wine. Never offered us bread, water or anything. We used to go here for our anniversary never again.....It was just plain aweful and $350 later for crap!

Exceeded high expectations

Early Sunday dinner was perfect. Safe and clean restaurant, excellent service by Janelia, and meal well prepared. Shrimp cocktail was crisp and very large, petite filet was tender, delicious and medium rare as requested, creamed spinach and asparagus great. Bread pudding desert very tasty ... and adult beverages made to perfection. Ruth’s Chris has never disappointed.

You know the drill. Great service, great food, expensive prices, nice space, it was exactly as we hoped it would be. Shared the crab cake app, 2 delicious crabcakes with very little filler. I had the lambchops, big and juicy, she had the tuna, but plain (not crusted) and it was big and tasty. We also shared the "Fire Roasted Corn" which was tasty, but didn't seem to be "Fire roasted", just corn, nicely cooked, in a light broth with some mildly spicy additions. Only issue was having to ask for water glasses to be filled. With prices like this and service generally SO good, and the glasses on the edge of the table in easy sight, we shouldn't have to ask for more water. Was it a full 1 drop in the rating? Almost, but everything else went so well we'll keep this as a 5. But really, it was about a 4.6 I wish menus were posted online with prices. We would have gone anyway, but it would have helped with the budgeting

I was not happy with my experience at this location .Service was not good took too long for the service to take order. Most of our food came out of the kitchen cold or warm. Lobster mac & cheese not a good choice tasted like processed cheese at high price. Atmosphere was okay, however, I went for the food this was a special occasion for me. Least thing I like paying too much for a mediocre. Experienced another location it was FANTASTIC.

I can't wait to go back

Everything was amazing! The food, the service, and the atmosphere were all on point. Denise was a fantastic server with great recommendations. Definitely request her when you make a reservation. Management stopped by our table to check in and make sure we were enjoying everything. The steaks were incredible. I got a flat tire pulling into the parking lot, so Joe and Zach both went above and beyond to change my tire. I had the best experience possible. If you don't go to this location for your next night out, you're really missing out.

The food is THAT good

That you overlook the lack of atmosphere and the sometimes slow service. I had the Restaurant week strip, a truly excellent steak, cooked perfectly. She had the chopped salad and the crab cake appetizer as an entree, I am not sure there is a better crab cake for sale in the Boston area. No filler, almost all lump meat. Would be nice if the Restaurant Week menu had a choice of desserts, but it is what it is. Not much garlic in the “garlic mashed potato” side.

Everything was fine. I love Ruth’s Chris a nd have been to 15-20 throughout the country. Tonight was the first time I ‘be. Been back for a few years. Sorry but I was disappointed….while everything was “fine” but nothing was spectacular….Dining at Ruth’s used to be a spectacular experience in every way, service, presentation, menu, and food! Tonight it was only pedestrian! I hope that it is becoming just another restaurant!?!

A special night out

Very professional waiter, excellent quiet restaurant, very comfortable seating and excellent quality food. The valet parking was also excellent and on time. The pricing was quite high and meals were à la cart. However overall a wonderful experience . will use this restaurant for special occasions
