Our favorite Italian food! Other than Italy nothing here compares. Grab a bottle of wine and enjoy. Sure there are quieter, fancier restaurants and even the Filho's in Acton which has wine list and servers but we prefer this original location.
After many, many years we asked if you could get a site order of meatballs. You can and they are divine & now my husband thinks we need those everytime. Linguine de la cucina our favorite (it's peppery so maybe not everyones choice) & it doesn't even have meat! But honestly most everything is delicious but personally I don't like the chicken piccata but probably just a matter of my preference for a particular recipe.
Due to Covid we try to go when it's less busy or we eat outside or pick up take out.
Don't forget dessert! Amaretto Cream cake is my favorite.

It was a very quaint byob restaurant where you need to order at the counter and they deliver the food to the table. Bread and oil and seasoning to start was delicious and some had sandwiches and some had entrees- everyone was happy with their meal. Red sauce is very nice and a bit on the sweet side.

Takeout: Had several kinds of food like the bruschetta, sandwiches and pasta dishes. Didn’t have drinks or alcohol or deserts but they looked great! Food was great but pricey. Only complaint was bruschetta was cold and a smidge undercooked and they forgot to add the salad dressing. Otherwise we will go back!

I ordered 5 sandwiches, one was a special order - holding a sauce the sandwich came with, nothing elaborate. It took an hour and a half for them to make the sandwiches that we pre-ordered . At least a dozen people who arrived after me had their orders ready to go. After several inquiries and assurances from the cashier they were finally shamed into getting my order ready. The waitstaff person yelled at me in the parking lot when I tried to enter the restaurant from the parking lot. Just unbelievable how incompetent these people were that day. And after all that the sandwiches were only average. I'll never go back, this place is over rated.

This was the first time that we have ordered take-out from Filho’s in over a year. This used to be one of our favorite restaurants and we were excited to return but tonight was such a disappointment. First the restaurant was extremely crowded and there was no social distancing at the pick-up. It was very stressful. Then when we got home we found that there was an entree missing from our order. despite confirming the dishes verbally at pick-up. Finally, the food was not up to the usual standard; the Chicken Parm (which two people had to share because we were down a dish) was over cooked and dry and the marinara sauce tasted like tomato sauce out of a can. The Shrimp Gamberi also was chewy, bland and again, very dry. We won’t be going back in a hurry.

Ordered chicken Marsala. What I got can only be described as woefully overcooked shoe leather in vinegar. It was so sour that it made me feel ill after two bites. Not sour like lemony sour like picatta, beyond unpleasantly sour to the point it was burning my tongue. I’ve eaten the same dish here before and not encountered this…it was obviously made incorrectly and lord knows what was in it. The server whisked it away with a terse “we’ll take that off for you”. No apology, no offer to replace it with something else, just whipped it away. I’m assuming this is because by this point, everyone else was nearly done with their dinner. Considering we went out to give me a break from cooking, I’m not amused.

Odd place and no one is there is particularly helpful which is surprising. Regulars seem to know what's going on which may be why they don't care if the staff is cold as frost. The food is entirely acceptable - although nothing you can't make yourself as a decent home cook - but so ridiculously over-priced you know they can only hold people up like this in Groton. Any normal town would laugh. Been here twice and disappointed twice. The little charm it had has grown prosciutto thin.

This is a casual place with fresh food, a menu to please varying appetites and desires, and friendly service. We sat at an outdoor table with a parasol and went inside to order food and pay. It’s BYOB, but there’s a package store next door and the restaurant supplies glasses and set-up.

Just down street from Lawrence Academy, happened upon this place around 1:00 in the middle of the week. It was quite busy, which often is a good sign.
You order at the counter and they deliver order to table. There were 4 specials on the blackboard that day and opted for the panino, which consisted of a chicken breast, prosciutto, red peppers, mozzarella, and a special house sauce, all barely contained within the roll. Absolutely delicious.
It’s relatively small place, but has about 12 tables, 4 of which were 2 person tables. Was quiet enough to have conversation with those at adjoining tables. You could tell everyone in the place was enjoying the food and having a good time.
Lastly, staff was very helpful and patient with me, being a first time customer. It won’t be the last time I can assure you.

I have been coming to Filho's for many years. Lunch and dinner. I love it because the food is really great and the service is always very pleasant. I recommended it to my daughter's family to try after a play in Groton. They raved about the meal and she and her husband can be a little snobby because they are both gourmet cooks...enough said.

Visiting family in Groton and no one felt like making lunch, so....order from Filho's! Sandwiches were great as was a mozzarella ball salid. We didn't order and drinks or extras so we can't comment, but overall very very good 4.5 stars.

Fantastic food and service
They are dry but have a liquor store 10 feet away and are byob
If you can snag a outdoor table in the warm months get a bottle of wine, the experience is awesome
