For our date night, my husband and i decided to try this restaurant during restaurant week. They did not disappoint. The place has a very friendly flair to it and everyone was very friendly and helpful. As we walked in we can smell the steak cooking, as I was taking in the view, we were ushered to our table. The lights were made to look like giant lanterns, and our seats were a nice sofa with throw pillows.
Then our waiter, André, came over. So dynamic and knew the menu like the back of his hand. He made some great recommendations and was attentive all night long. He was the only one out of the trio of names that we didn't have to look for. We needed water and had to ask for it. The only flaw we can find.
For starter we tried the Park Belly from the regular menu. So delicious. From the week's menu we got our Caesar salad, the Heritage Pork osso bucci, the Flat Iron Steak... everything was very delicious....then for dessert we got the Lemon Penne Cotta and the Florless Chocolate Torte. The crumbs on the Penne Cotta was so good that I had to ask for more and they gladly obliged. Like I always say when they make my top 10 list: to die for!!! Definitely will go back!!

I've been to this restaurant before and couldn't say enough about the menu. Told my friends to go and eat there. So my girlfriend wanted to celebrate her 50th birthday and I recommended that we go there.
This time around the atmosphere was the same but the menu that I sold them on was very different but still the menu looked appetizing. I ordered the She-Crab soup and it was very salty so was my cream of kale. The crab legs were overprices for their size. There were 8 in our party and half said their food was salty. The manager, Mike, came around to see how we were doing and thanked us for letting him know. I also told him that the reason we were here celebrating our friend's birthday was for the old menu and he should consider bringing some of the items like the pork belly back. Everything else went fine but salty food is not only unhealthy but kills your taste buds for the other food items.

Driving from Portsmouth, NH, to R.I. and in the need of a steak dinner brought us here yesterday. We were not disappointed from start to finished. Calvin and Taylor were informative, friendly, professional and made sure all was fine. The meal was wonderful! Our steaks were cooked exactly as we ordered, the simple green salad’s croutons (i believe) were corn bread and the soup was topped with crab pieces in the middle! We highly recommend going!

Made the mistake of booking a night at a nearby Marriott that closed its restaurant and bar during covid and never reopened. We stumbled into the Black and Blue nearby and were initially told they had no tables, at all, but we could get drinks or eat at the bar. While ordering drinks, a very friendly local couple spoke with us and offered their chairs since they were leaving. Then, another friendly patron offered his chair so all four of us could be seated and ordered dinner. We were served by Calvin from behind the bar who was also friendly and attentive despite the fact that they were slammed. Restaurant and bar both packed. Good menu with excellent food, however don't order the Bistro Filet which was tough and chewy for one in our party. The spicy calamari was excellent. Other filets also very good. We were tired from travel but felt very lucky to have found this friendly establishment.

I decided to try this restaurant at restaurant week. It took about an hour for our meals to arrive. We did get a basked of bread while we waited. I got the petite Oscar, which was OK. My steak was underdone, and it's a small piece of steak, so the server got a tiny plate and took my steak away. It was odd since I got it back a little while later on the same tiny plate. If this happened at Capital Grille, they would have at least brought me new, hot sides to eat with my steak. They didn't check on me again until my meal was finished. I did like the mashed potatoes and asparagus, and the salad was a good size. My daughter got the salmon, which she liked. She was hoping to change out the brussel sprouts for another vegetable, but that wasn't allowed. The atmosphere was lovely, and there was plenty of parking in back.

I rarely write reviews but I just recently had my birthday dinner at this restaurant and everything was super!!. From the setting given the pandemic. The hosts and the servers were wonderful. We ordered calamari for appetizers( best I’ve had and I’ve tried so many restaurants). For the main meal I had the half rack of lamb chop. It was the best I’ve had. The rest of the group went with the different steak cuts and everyone was pleased with their meals. The sides are good sizes can be shared. Will go back there and really really recommend.

On a recent trip to Burlington, we were drawn to this restaurant by the Dine Out Boston menu. I had the filet with crab Louis and my son had the steak frites. Both came with salad and desert. The rest of the group ordered from the regular menu (salmon and crab legs). Everyone was pleased with their dinner choices. All sides and appetizers are extra. For instance a side of mac and cheese (enough for the table) was $13. The dish was different in that it was made with orzo pasta. The restaurant is lovely and the practice all the required covid measures. The only down side is the cost ($300 for the 5 of us for dinner). Definitely a good choice for a splurge.

I dined at Black & Blue with a group of 30 in town for business meetings. The atmosphere, service, and food were excellent. We had choices of filet, scallops, and airline chicken with an ample selection of appetizers, salad, and dessert also served. Everyone was very satisfied with their choices. The only complaint was that there was so much food we couldn't finish it all! Would recommend for group dinners.

Three of us went to Black & Blue Steak and Crab while in area for business. The lobster bisque was stated to be absolutely delicious by one colleague, - much better than the one he had the previous night at a different restaurant. I had the NY strip. Lightly seasoned, it was fantastic, still sizzling on its hot plate. We ordered the asparagus and green beans as sides. They were fresh and delicious. Colleagues ordered the filet and NY strip as well. Both loved their meals as well. Service was friendly and responsive. Definitely will go back.

Busy place, nice decor, food and drinks were on par with price point. However, I waited too long to settle our tab at the bar before dinner (stood there for about 10 minutes without so much as a nod from any of the bartenders), we sat for about 20 minutes at the table without any check in from anyone serving, and the whole meal took about four hours. Server was friendly and had a fun personality, but he was either overloaded with tables (my guess), or not properly trained. There is something amiss with staffing/training/ and etc.

Service was good. Caesar salad had too much dressing. Lobster and crab dip was yummy but very rich, I guess that’s what to expect however with a seafood dip. The pita chips were good. The Halibut was over cooked and dry. Carrots undercooked. Creme brûlée was good. Wouldn’t go again anytime soon.

Came here for a business dinner. We were seated in a private room which allowed for conversation and a more intimate experience.
The service was impeccable. We had two waiters who took care of us and it was perfect. The food was amazing from the appetizers and the mains to the dessert.
Of course the pricing is expensive but this is a great place for a special occasion or an important business dinner. Highly recommended!

From an upscale steak and seafood place I was expecting a little more than what I got. The chopped salad was good and easily fed three. The "Maryland-style" she-crab soup was OK. Since she-crab soup is more common in Virginia and the Carolinas, I asked the waiter what was Maryland style about the soup, he had no idea. An unordered extra side item arrived with our dinners, we tried to tell the server but he didn't seem to understand. The waiter guessed it must have been intended for another table. Oh well. Of the food we ordered, I wasn't a fan of the hash brown potatoes, Steaks were good, fish was good, overall a good meal, just a little underwhelming.

My wife and I got together with some good friends over dinner and decided to try Black and Blue. The dining experience was fantastic. We went during prime time on a Saturday night (had reservations) and they seated us immediately, including taking into account special table accommodations we asked for when we reserved. The staff (and in particular our waiter) was truly outstanding. My wife has certain dietary restrictions and the restaurant went as far as to create a list with each item on the menu that she could eat! The food was also outstanding. We all ended up ordering steak which was prepared to perfection. And even though it was Saturday evening and crowded, they did not rush us out the door after we finished eating.
The only negative I can come up is that this is a high-end restaurant and dishes were priced accordingly. However, in summary I can say this is one of the few times at a high-end restaurant where I felt like we definitely got what we paid for. Highly recommended and can't wait to go back!

This is the second and final time I plan to visit this restaurant. Simply put they overcook the food. The service is excellent, however the quality of the food leaves much to be desired. I can't comment on thier steaks beacuse I don't eat red meat. We ordered two fish dishes (salmon and the halbut special) and a mushroom pasta dish. Prior to ordering I informed our server that on the last visit the fish was overcooked so as to help ensure it wouldn't be the case on this visit. Well they managed to overcook both fish dishes yet again! We also ordered a 'She Crap Soup'. Couldn't find a piece of she or crab in the soup for $14. Again, I can't comment on the steaks. The place was quite busy so can only speculate folks come here for the drinks, atmosphere, and possibly the steaks. Do yourself a favor and skip this place as I'm certain there are far better options available.
