Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

After walking around downtown Cumberland, which sadly is cumbersome due to the road construction, I chose to stop here for a late lunch. Not very busy, so I was seated right away. Waitress took my drink order right away and brought me back a nice ICE COLD ice tea. I had the Grill sandwich, 4 oz filet w/melted provolone & sautéed mushrooms. It was hot and cooked to perfection!! Perfect medium. Fries were extra, comes with chips, and they were hot & crispy. Waitress was attentive, but didn’t hover. Would go back again and recommend

Seriously not a bad place to eat. Unless the City of Cumberland can figure out how to get people downtown to their city center places like this will end up out of business. Having said that it was one of only two places open on a Friday night at their city center.
There is outdoor seating but also a nice area inside which is where we sat. A lot of server’s and wait staff to assist so you never go without anything. The waitress was kind enough to answer questions about the area for us as well.
I haven’t had Maryland crab cakes in years so we had theirs. They were good. I assumed they weren’t fried which seemed to keep them fresh. We had red beans and rice as the side which was very tasty. My wife and I agreed that the food was good but for two meals approaching $100 it just seemed a little pricy.
Having said that we would go back, but wouldn’t choose the crab cakes.

For our first night in Cumberland, my wife and I had dinner here. My wife had the burger, while I had the herb grilled chicken sandwich, served with a side of fries. Both sandwiches were good, but nothing special, although I liked my sandwich more than my wife did. I thought the service was fine, and I did like the 'vibe' of the place. Prices were reasonable.

Casual place, but surprisingly the seafood gumbo was perfect! And the jambalaya was really good. However, the bread pudding with bourbon sauce although sounded enticing, was a little too sweet, and gooey.
Overall a great value for the money.
Definitely would recommend

We went to this restaurant based on good reviews so I was surprised that our meals were so bad. I had crab cakes. They were the worst that I have ever eaten. There were no lumps of crab. Instead it was shredded and other ingredients were added to hold it together. But the menu said only crab meat, no fillers, with only added seasoning. This was not the case. The garden salad was made up of head lettuce with no leaf lettuce added.
The outside eating area was nice in the midst of the historic downtown.

Recommended by the excellent Hampton Inn at the edge of Cumberland. $5 taxi ride each way and we’ll worth it. Great and friendly staff, interesting and varied menu. I noticed a “New Orleans” sign at the end of the bar, which looked a little out of place, but after studying the restaurant’s offerings, I saw four of my favorite Cajun main dishes. I couldn’t decide, so asked my waitress to get the chef to choose for me. A wonderful shrimp étouffée arrived promptly, with the shrimp and the rice cooked to absolute perfection. Good choice of wines and a surprisingly low bill!
Would ride out of the way for dinner here!

Nothing fancy here, but it's solid. My wife had a burger, me the Philly cheese steak sandwich. Each accompanied by chips and a slice of tomato. Service was fine, and total bill, including a beer and iced tea, was just above $30. Worth a visit.

We enjoyed dinner at Baltimore Street Grill during our weekend visit to Cumberland.
We dined outside and the tables were well spaced and the servers all wore masks and dinners did as well until beverages were served.
We started with the crab dip and then had the crab cake sandwich and a chicken sandwich with crab meat, bacon and provolone. Yes, crab was a theme! My fiancé and I shared the sandwiches and really enjoyed both! The crab cake had very little filler and the chicken sandwich was great.
Would certainly return if I were back in the area.

I have driven through Cumberland a number of times and never thought to stop, but the timing was such that we would be passing through around dinner time so we tried to find a place to eat. Really happy we did because we found this place. Known for their crab cakes and they did not disappoint. For those not familiar with crab cakes when they arrive you might feel a little underwhelmed because they look small. But you are getting essentially only crab, not a ton of filler like you might somewhere else. It was really delicious. I have to also mention the gumbo - it was thick, full of seafood and delicious as well. My only regret is that I was not more hungry, because I was eyeing the Tournedos entree but it was going to be way too much food.

After living in Louisiana for 4 years, I became a fan of Cajun food. When I saw Cajun food on the menu, it was tempting. I was initially skeptic about the authenticity of Cajun food at Baltimore Street Grill. Gumbo was delicious. Reminded me of Gumbo I used to have in Baton Rouge. Catfish Po-boy felt authentic, too. Portion was generous for the price. I highly recommend this place and we plan to come by again.

Ate and drank here with friends after bicycling for 8 hours. Meat lovers pizza was great. 30 beers on tap. Bourbon st pasta was rated high by two people. Taco bowl and bread pudding are highly rated. Jalapeño poppers and chicken tender appetizers were devoured. Place was packed inside and outside at 7pm on a Monday night. We would have had 1 more round of drinks if the service was a bit faster. Would visit again.

I dined here for lunch and dinner recently while in Cumberland. The service was super nice and attentive, the prices were very reasonable, and the food was tasty.
The eclectic décor and local vibe made me feel right at home. If I had any dig on the place is that the didn't have any local/Western MD craft beers available (I really like to support the local craft brewers).
Definitely worth a visit!

We keep coming back because The Baltimore St. Grill always has delicious food. Our latest visit was an early dinner. We decided to have sandwiches rather than a complete meal. The Mrs. had the Club sandwich and I had the Bayou burger. With the addition of a basket of fries this was actually a complete meal.
They are friendly people, good food and drinks, what more could you want?

We came for Air B&B in the area and stopped for dinner. I got the Jambalaya and it was good- not terribly authentic. I think it has more tomato sauce than I’ve ever had and less spicy but solidly good. My boyfriend got the crab cakes and he said they were okay but not great. The real surprise came with Dessert. My boyfriend took one bite of his bread pudding and exclaimed “Holy sh$&!”. I took a bite and nearly said the same. It was, by far, the single best bread pudding I’ve ever had- like miles above. It is so good it shouldn’t even be called bread pudding.
The area is very pleasant. The restaurant is in the historic district and we sat outside next to the fountain. Visit if you can and order the bread pudding.

Stop here for pleasant outdoor dining on Cumberland's historic Baltimore Street pedestrian mall, or inside for a cozy lunch on a rainy day. Way above average pub food. The roast beef sandwich is excellent. A thick cut of beef topped with plenty of provolone and mushrooms.
