We dined here while staying in Cumberland to ride the train. We walked from our hotel which was about 1/2 mile because there is minimal street parking and the public parking area isn't much closer than our hotel. We had reservations and the restaurant was booming. There is a main level, a second level and a third level. We were all the way at the third level, so it was a bit hot and the ambience wasn't great. I had the salmon Abruzzo which I was bit leery of getting as abruzzo is a gorgonzola sauce and I dont like gorgonzola, but it was very mild and the salmon was delicious. It came with one side so I got the garlic pasta, which was a little bland. The hubs had the Chicken Abruzzo, it was a huge portion and he loved his as well. The dessert was also great some of the best spumoni I have had, the hubs had the chocolate torte which was so rich but good. Reasonable prices here too. Our waitress was pretty inattentive so she gave us a free dessert for the lack of service. If we were in cumberland we would come back would request to sit on the main level.

With all of the downtown street construction it was a bit stressful to find parking and not knowing the area was a little bit of a challenge. BUT it all worked out and we found it. We had been traveling all day and were tired. The hostess was cheerful and got us seated right away. We had Chicken parm and a pasta dish with sun dried tomatoes and added some shrimp. All was very yummy. We also each had a glass of wine. Was a bit pricey but we felt it was a great meal. The waiter said they had just started serving pizza and have a big pizza oven. If ever in the area again will go back.

This restaurant is clearly one of the best in Cumberland, MD. The atmosphere is wonderful, the owner Tony will probably come to your table and talk to you while drinking a glass of wine. Menu questions are answered on the spot or they just ask the chef. The food is amazing. If you come to Cumberland on the Great Allegheny Passage and think you may not be dressed well enough, just go anyway. In the warm months you can eat outside.

Otts is usually our go to place in Cumberland. We will be exploring other options next time. The last two times we have gone to the restaurant food and service were disappointing. We were told several items on the specials were not available. Server returns the appetizer we ordered was out, offered a comp and to take the cost off the bill - this didn’t happen. Two entrees arrived missing a main ingredient, no explanation as to why, I’m sure they were out, and the server did not want to say it again. Tried again on another night. Service was slow, when food arrived the server forgot to put one of our entrees in to order and a steak was raw in the center. We were told it would be a 25 minute wait. Offered an appetizer while the rest ate their meals. The missing entree was packed up to go. I don’t mind paying above average prices when the food and service are excellent but we will wait to return and hope that the restaurant resolves the issues that have resulted in two poor experiences.

Excellent dinner and even better service! We were passing thru on our 12th wedding anniversary and picked this for our special dinner. We were not disappointed! Logan recommended the Tomahawk steak they had on special. It was service for 2 and came with roasted fingerling potatoes and roasted asparagus. Yum! I had the espresso martini too. All of the staff was professional and very polite. Tony, the owner, stopped by to check on us also. When he learned it was our anniversary, he brought us 2 glasses of champagne and had a toast with us. It was above and beyond what we expected. The weather was perfect for their outdoor seating and the live band was great...not too loud or obnoxious. Highly recommend this place! Would love to have time to stroll down the few surrounding streets of this charming downtown area! Thank you, Logan and Tony for a special evening!

We stopped in to have food on Saturday and we do recommend making a reservation as they were busy and although we did have to wait a little long on the food it was well worth it all for entrées that we ordered the service was not great and it was slow but when things finally did arrive it was tasty. We had a couple of drinks and although we did have to wait an awful long time them and refills and even another waitress had to bring us them! Our server, hayley I think was just either too busy or needs more help. Our visits are usually always fast or if not fast then very eventful... I’m sad to say this time was not up to par. However the entrees were delicious and the drinks were well made, outdoor patio dining is always an awesome thing to have and experience especially at this restaurant!

I cannot say enough about this choice of restaurants for dinner. We asked a random stranger on the mall where we could have a really nice dinner upon our arrival. He recommended this restaurant as did many others we spoke to throughout the long weekend. The ambiance inside & outside in the courtyard is super. We met the owner earlier in the day and he was helpful with making our dinner reservations that evening. When we arrived, he went out of his way to accommodate our seating preference as well as making sure we had a heater next to us as the evening cooled down. The service was top notch and the food was absolutely delicious. The portions were large and we had leftovers for the following day. We both chose the Abruzzo Chicken - breaded chicken breast over spinach & mushrooms sautéed in balsamic vinegar, topped with Gorgonzola cheese and baked, served with pasta. It was baked perfectly and the combination of ingredients was perfect. If you stop in Cumberland, I highly suggest you dine here and a reservation is a plus on the weekends.

Terrific restaurant that would be successful in New York, paris, or kiev. Service outstanding. Location in cumberland is off the beaten path. Well worth the trip to visit this dining establishment. The table cloths are ironed and clean, layout of the restaurant reminds me of places I visited in Naples and Rome. Food is authentic Italian at reasonable prices. I loved the place. They use local ingredients like figs when in season. Bread is baked fresh, service great

We came down for dinner and it was our first time trying out Ottavianis and may we say it was splendid! Our server Chevy, as she told us to call her since her name was “unique but hard to remember” haha , went above and beyond and gave us the best service we have experienced in years! We never waited for refills on drinks or bread or water and she answered every question on the menu that we had seeing that we haven’t heard of have of them before. Although there were so many yummy options we just went with some salads and simple pastas. She was busy and was running around but she made time for us each and every trip by the table, I heard multiple tables of hers, say nothing but good things and we got to talk to the very sweet host Amanda or amber (I believe). If you are passing through this restaurant is the place to go! From my experience some lovely staff, delicious food, and we will definitely be back for this experience again!!! 10/10

Weve come to Ottavianis before with friends and family and it has always been excellent. The food was amazing, the drinks were cold (when we finally got them) and the atmosphere was awesome. However service was poor. Our server, when she finally got to us , was very rushed and didn’t know what was on the menu or what they were out of and had to keep coming back and saying “sorry” that basically everything we wanted we couldn’t have. She was quite over bearing when she was actually coming to our table and we felt rushed as if we needed to get out as soon as we got there, towards the end she didn’t come back to the table for a very long time even when we actually did need something. I’m not sure if they needed the table or if it was just bad service on her part we haven’t had her before so maybe the new staff just needs some attention but our visit wasn’t the usual relaxing night out as it usually is. We will be coming back again for more food and drinks but will be requesting our favorite waitress from here on out!

Always the real reason to visit Rocky Gap! Our second visit to Ottaviani’s was as wonderful as the first. We sat inside and enjoyed a wonderful leisurely dinner. We started with the calamari. The marinara sauce makes the dish a delight. My wife had the strip steak that was pan seared with just the right crusting to seal in the juices and flavor. I had the chicken parmigiana which was a large portion of two breasts smothered in a cheese sauce again with a wonderful marinara sauce over pasta. Our service by Dylan was spot on. Looking forward to finding another excuse to head west and visit Ottaviani’s!

Great food, lovely outdoor seating, attentive service. One of the ways we evaluate an Italian restaurant is how they prepare their calamari appetizer & theirs was outstanding. So were the main courses. I had a very rich linguine Alfredo & my husband had a salmon special with a delicious lemon sauce. We will be back!!

we were in Cumberland and researched to find a historic restaurant downtown. we made reservations for Saturday evening and on arriving our table had been given to another party. no problem, they had a small table near the entrance, but it was super cold outside and they were constantly taking dinners out to a building next door. hour long wait for dinner and when it came we did not have the correct sides on either dinner. manager did bring the correct sides when we mentioned it to him. my duck was over cooked and husband did not get pasta with his veal parm. it was a real let down as it was quite expensive and just average.

Located in historic Cumberland Md, we were delighted at our find. The food was very good and we had asked to split an entree as we can never finish large portions. They had no problem with that. Chicken park was moist and sauce was delicious. The burnt sugar short cake is beyond belief. Great service manager came by twice to check on us

What a nice find in Cumberland! This restaurant ranks as high as those in Little Italy in Baltimore. The food was delicious with large portions. It’s a bit pricey for this area, but you do get the quality you pay for! Plenty of seating outdoors under a tent, and the restaurant was constantly being cleaned. We felt very safe eating here during Covid, and would eat here again even if we were just passing by on the interstate.
