Lovely dinner

Who knew downtown valpo had such Lovely dinner options. Here to explore indiana dunes and valpo is home base. Outdoor seating on a beautiful summer evening. Attentive and helpful staff. The bacon wrapped fig appetizer was delicious. Our entrees were terrific. Great wine and cocktail options. We went last summer and were delighted to return.

Small, unassuming, But Excellent.

Small, simple, but excellently prepared food. Never a bad meal here. Best in Valpo and I’ve lived here for over a decade. Fresh, quality Med menu and excellent value.

Quite Dinner with family

Nice place tucked away in a busy street in downtown Valparaiso. Have been a patron of this restaurant since it opened. Nice authentic food and limited but good selection of wines. Multiple options available for vegetarians and vegans. A little cramped for space specially in winter. However in summer have options to sit outside. Overall 👍🏼👍🏼

Well, it makes you feel like your are someplace other than Indiana! What a great little Cafe. The most delicious, wonderful food! A party in my mouth :) A positive vibe and great service.

Hours of this establishment have changed. They are now open 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and then from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Since we were arriving at 4 p.m., it was closed.

Food has been magnificently consistent - my benchmarch where ever i go for what great mediterranean food should taste like. My only beef is that its small so you have to get their early!

The best food in town

We used to dine in often, but since covid we've had take out from there a few times and we've never been disappointed. The beef and chicken shawarma is awesome. The dolmas are amazing as well.

A treasure!

I was in Valparaiso for the day while my daughter toured the university. Tripadvisor led me to this little gem in downtown. I started with a half order of the Roasted Eggplant Crostini (A bruschetta of eggplant, white beans, basil, and roasted tomatoes topped with crumbled feta and served on a baked crostini). AMAZING!! The flavors were delicious! I finished lunch with the sampler plate (A trio of hummus, tabouli, and baba ganouj served with pita). Though not as extraordinary as the crostini, it was still very good. I'm so glad I found this cozy restaurant and I will look forward to eating here again.

Still One of our Favorites

Our original review was almost two years ago: "Recently bought a home in Valpo and are just getting to know the dining scene in the area. With all the great options in town, we've managed to eat at Meditrina twice already. I don't even want to share our must-have dish, cuz when they run out, they're out. Well...okay. It's their grilled octopus. We've enjoyed this dish in many, many restaurants, both here and abroad. We rate this as some of the best we've ever tasted. The tender texture is the first surprise; the immense flavor (with such a simple preparation) is equally impressive. So far, we've only dined outside (they are pet--friendly and always welcome our little Joey). The service is great and it's obviously frequented by regulars. We will soon be regulars too! And now we ARE regulars. Meditrina's is still our comfortable go-to. Still think the octopus is amazing. And if you're there when the Branzino is on the menu, get that too! Great wines. Our fave server, Natalie, is a gem. She knows her stuff. This place is pretty tiny so get there early

Excellent meal!!!

Excellent meal!!! You can’t go wrong, we did not have any main dishes, follow the waitress advice. We were full with 4 appetizers, portions quite big. We didn’t have desert.

Fun joint, nice food and wine and great people

This place is cool, friendly and a little funky. Stopped for lunch with a friend, and loved it. They are a wine and wine cocktail bar, but go for the food. Had a Kefta (this was a new one for me: hummus with grilled mushrooms, pickled red onion and the meat) with schwarma that was outstanding for about $12 served with pita. It was supposed to be an app, but was plenty for my lunch. In nice weather they have very nice outdoor/sidewalk seating. Free street parking, can be a little tight during peek hours.

Nice joint

Simple space with great food and Turkish coffee. Lentil soup and scallops for me today. Nice little part of town, good ambiance and just happened to be playing my favorite music. Lentils reminded me of Yiayia’s lentil soup.

The deluxe sampler is a great appetizer and the sumac salmon is excellent. Valpo has quite a few really good restaurants - this is one of the best.
