Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great food, great music, the locals eat there what more needs to be said. If you are looking for a gastronomic experience, then this is not for you. If you want a flavour of Polynesian seafood, if you want wide smiles, decent portions served with love, then this is the place.

This is a newish cafe on Aitutaki so we visited for lunch on our first day and it didn’t disappoint. We shared delicious ika mata and sashimi served with a teriyaki dipping sauce. Fresh, tasty and well presented. A really nice addition to cafe life on our favourite island.

Saw this little gem on TA. It's a short cycle ride from the Pacific Resort in town. We had the famous Ika Mata and Mouarli's husband had just caught the Yellow Fin Tuna today. We had a huge bowl with Arrowroot and Purple Kumara fries with a bowl of fresh mango. The coconut was also picked from the property. We had a great chat with the owner and she sent us on our way with our water bottles filled and passion fruit from her garden.

Absolutely the best cafe food in Aitutaki. If you want authentic Ika Mata (raw fish in coconut cream), this is the place to go! The fish is also caught fresh locally and used in their menu… as fresh as it gets!

We went to the Mouarii Cafe for both breakfast and lunch and came away satisfied both times. We had their big breakfast with eggs, sausage, bacon, hashbrowned potatoes, their yummy Ika Mata served in a coconut, freshly-caught fish'n'chips (they have a local fisherman on staff who supplies the restaurant, and oh my goodness: the sashimi was divine.
I would highly recommend those visiting the island to dine here at least once. You may also inquire here about fishing charters!

Absolutely fell in love with this cafe on my trip to Aitutaki! Great little spot on the hill with sea views. Instantly felt comfortable with the friendly family service from Tereapii and her staff. The food was absoluelty amazing....best fresh Tuna on the Island without doubt! I made this my "local" spot most days for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Was also great to have a few beers with James during happy hour as he explained all the beautiful things about Aitutaki and how he catches all the fresh fish for the cafe. Can't wait to come back and see you all again and hopefully get to go fishing on Wahoo Charters.

If you like one of the Pacific's signature dishes, marinated raw fish, Ika Mata in the Cook Islands, then this is the place for you. This is one of my favourite dishes, which I have eaten all over the Pacific and this is one of the best, if not the best.
The owner is a keen fisherman and this is where you find the freshest fish. Their fish & chips is also brilliant, so is the tropical fruit smoothie.
Your food will be badly missed, thanks so much, I will be back!

We absolutely loved the fresh yellow fin Tuna sashimi, we came back for more. The hosts of the Mouarii Cafe & Restaurant , James and Tereapii are the most wonderful people. We were fortunate enough that James took us out for the day oh his boat ‘Wahoo’ and gave us a scenic tour of the surrounding islands, lunch and snorkelling in the reef. 100% recommend having a meal here and meeting both James and Tereapii.

This little cafe was a short walk from our accommodation. Lucky us. We had 2 of the best servings of Ika mata I've ever eaten. Made from scratch: tuna caught by the owner's husband, freshly grated coconut and with delicious island fries of casava, taro and plantain on the side - an unforgettable lunch. We sneaked a peek at the meals on other tables, and they looked pretty amazing too. If you are in Aitutaki, make sure you don't miss out.

We ate breakfast and lunch there and were never disappointed. They used to open for dinner but Covid put a stop to that and we hope they open again for dinner soon. One of the better cafes we ate at.
If you want to do a fishing or snorkeling trip, they can arrange this as Tereapii's, the owner's husband does this and it was an amazing day with great food as well on board. He knows where to go for great snorkeling and fishing.

We were recommended this restaurant by one of the staff of the resort we were staying. We had a lovely welcome. The menu was full of delicious food. When the food came it came Big portions. The surface was very quick if we would’ve stayed longer we would come back here again.

It's hard to find a good coffee on the island. When you're waking up in paradise, it's always great to enjoy a fresh brewed coffee in the morning with a perfect view.
Dined there for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the food was delicious.
Highly recommend a visit if you are venturing out of your resort. Overall friendly staff, great food, great coffee, easy to find location and family friendly.

Good tasty food, but similar menu to everywhere else on island. Their fish and island fries were fab though - fresh fresh fresh tuna! Awesome little find in the main town centre.
