The food was great and the service very friendly. The outside appearance is less than stellar but the inside was very clean. Earlham College student choice. We got the tip on La Mexicana from one of the student admissCollege and believe that this must be a popular "cheap eats" choice for students looking for something other than cafeteria fare.

The best Mexican food in Indiana

The best Mexican food I have ever had. I come here atleast 2-3 times a month because it is seriously one of my favorite places to eat. The inside feels welcoming once you warm up to it and it offers many different kinds of food and drink at the small continence store-like area.

The outside of the building is not at all pretty, but inside is a typical Mexican grocery and mini-restaurant. We tried three different types of tacos, and all were quite good. This is by far the best Mexican food in the city ... El Trebol is not even a competitor. We had the carnitas, taco de lengua, and carne con chorizo, and all were great. The salsas were well prepared, and the service was fine!

We stopped in for lunch after my daughter (an Earlham College student) told me how good it was. Wow--delicious, friendly staff and inexpensive. We split a steak burrito and it was plenty. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The inside was clean, not fancy, with a little grocery business on the side. I would absolutely go back.

Each time we come to Indiana we stop here to eat. Staff is so friendly and the food is AMAZING! This trip we brought along coolers to buy extras for the evening and next day. I highly recommend this place to everyone who loves Mexican food.

Great food and extra great service. Like most reviewers state, the outside looks of the place are deceiving.... inside is not fancy but is neat and clean..... food is authentic and homemade in quality.... and the quality and portion size is a step above excellent! There were 6 of us and everyone agreed it was an exceptional lunch.... and everyone had enough to bring home after eating. Don't miss this if you get a chance to go !

Food smelled wonderful. Huge amount of food that I couldn't finish. The steak burrito was fabulous. Make sure to bring a cooler with ice to pack up the left overs. Reasonable prices and will definitely ride our motorcycles out this way again.

My husband and I went here because of the good reviews. It was definitely an experience. It is a small grocery store and a couple tables with line cooks. You can watch them cook your food which is nice, but if you have never been it's a little confusing about were to order. If we go back, it would probably be a carry out order.

Biggest Burrito in the Midwest!`

I have never seen a bigger burrito in my life! I was taken in by this food item and found the other items quite edible. The place doesn't look very much from the outside, but it's what they serve that counts!
