At the suggestion of a friend, we went to The Olde Richmond Inn to celebrate our 42nd anniversary. The old home gives the homey atmosphere that you want on a "date"! Our meals were excellent! My husband loved his lasagne and I went with the waitress's suggestion on how to fix my salmon. I get salmon lots of places and the sauce was memorable! You wanted to lift your plate and lick it so as to not waste any! Our waitress heard we were celebrating our anniversary and brought us a complimentary dessert with "Happy Anniversary" written around the edge of the plate with chocolate cake, ice cream and whipped cream in the center. This restaurant helped make the evening extra special!

First time visiting as we traveled through town. Beautiful facility and extensive menu. We were seated on the bar side. It was 3 pm on a Thursday. No other guests that we could see. Staffing was sparse ( common problem for all places right now) with a host, someone who delivered bread and water, and one server. There was an impressive list of lunch “specials” although some were also on the regular menu at the same price so I’m not sure what constitutes a special. It took a long time before someone took our order but they were prompt with bread and water. The lunch chicken piccata ($12.95) was quite good. There were 2 chicken breasts in a nice sauce with a handful of capers and about 2 slices of mushrooms. It came with potato and veggies plus a salad (that got served after I was 2/3 of the way finished with my meal and had asked the host when she walked by.) The hand tossed Italian salad was great. A lot of food for lunch. We also had the beef stroganoff lunch special which was a savory gravy with tender beef on one-half of the plate and noodles on the other half. In place of salad, we ordered French onion soup. I don’t recommend it. For dessert, a fantastic cheesecake with strawberries ($5.50). Overall, unique facility and a decent meal with exceedingly slow service and quite a few annoying flies around our dining table.

We had five people for dinner - great service, all could find great entrees that they liked including one vegetarian choice. Really well prepared food, both that had the walleye said it was outstanding. We had an outside table and felt safe and were very happy we went here.

We're from Dayton,Ohio. I grew up in Richmond, so I have fond memories of this city. We have been to the Olde Richmond Inn a few times. I ordered the 14-oz. sirloin steak which I shared with my wife. I asked for it medium, and what they brought was a good medium-not overdone and not too rare. The tossed salad for me and fruit salad for my wife were good. We advised the server of our anniversary, and he brought an anniversary dessert of two scoops of ice cream a piece of chocolate cake, and mounds of whipped cream all covered with chocolate sauce. Gauge, our server, was very efficient and friendly.I highly recomment Olde Richmond Inn.

Years ago I attended an event at the Inn and really was impressed. Fast forward to a few weeks ago when I was tasked with finding a location for a small gathering. Since a few members of our party have serious food allergies I was careful to try to find a place that could accommodate these issues. I remembered my previous meal so I looked the restaurant up. The Old Richmond Inn’s website indicated that they could work with allergies and a subsequent phone call to the restaurant resulted in a verbal confirmation that they could handle the allergy issues and that there should be no concerns. Relieved to have found a place for everyone in our group I booked our reservation. Sadly, the event itself was a mess and didn’t live up the the promises I had been given. The waitress for our event was clearly not trained in dealing with food allergies and also obviously didn’t take them seriously. Multiple serious issues occurred during our meal. Among the most egregious was when one plate, ordered to be gluten free, had to be sent back because it had been covered with gluten containing garnish. It was returned to the table showing signs that it was clearly the same plate and the garnish had just been scraped off. This left gluten crumbs still on the food. I suppose that management would try to claim that they state on the gluten free menu that cross contamination may occur. My complaint isn’t for off-hand accidental cross contamination but rather about the complete lack of any clear attempt to honor the things we were told before arriving or to take these concerns seriously once our party was seated. A different member of our group was also served a plate clearly containing things to which she was allergic (and which she had been clear to discuss with the waitress at the time of ordering). Her replacement came late in our meal and although she only ate a small amount of it she got sick. As for the remainder of our party the general consensus seemed to be that the food was fair but nothing overly special and probably not worth the price. The service was definitely below what would be expected in such a place and was really pretty poor. Nothing stands out from the meal. It was just average. A game that started to be played among some of the members of the party who ordered steaks was comparing doneness. There was no consistency at all. A medium well steak had more red than a medium rare one for instance. All in all I can’t recommend this restaurant over any of the various chain locations you could find in Richmond. The menu might be more extensive but the quality isn’t better and the service is possibly worse. I think I can safely say that no one in our party ever plans on returning and I know of at least one couple who were excited to find a nicer place they could eat that would cater to one of the spouse’s allergy. The Old Richmond Inn definitely lost out on future business because of the poor experience our group had.

My husband and I went to this restaurant for lunch in August, it was not busy but we had to wait for our server too long. We were her only customer, when I inquired what was the vegetable of the day I was told she didn't know. She offered to find out, "if you really need to know". We both ordered the Chicken Cordon Bleu, we were not aware that there was a choice of potatoes until I heard another server ask a customer. Our dish arrived with the waitresses choice which would not have been mine. The food was ok but not up to the standard I expected.

We took a day trip for the sole purpose of eating lunch here and worth every minute. We had the marvelous Beef Stroganoff with a salad and breadsticks which was a perfect choice. The beef was so tender and flavorful. I also had the raspberry iced tea which far exceeds what any other restaurant offers. I love the atmosphere. The hostess and our server were delightful and courteous.

We saw the reviews about this place and decided to try it. OMG! We drove up to this lovely building that looked like it had been a home at some point. Inside was like walking into the best of the past. Chandeliers, beautiful table settings and lovely music with Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin playing. My husband ordered the prime rib, I got the chicken piccata with lemon sauce and capers. Every single bite, from the crisp house salad with awesome Italian dressing, to the deliciousness of our meal, finished off with Key Lime pie was exquisite! It was undoubtedly the best meal we've had in months, if not years! The manager was delightful, the cooks were amazing... everything just perfect! We now are planning our return trip to include another stop at this wonderful place! Definitely a DO NOT MISS!

My wife and I had an "early supper" at the Olde Richmond Inn after a hiking day at nearby Whitewater State Park. Lovely place to get a tasty, attractive, well-prepared dinner out without having to dress up. The staff were elegant. I had a seafood platter that compared VERY favorably with what you would get at Red Lobster or Ruby Tuesday. Tasted better, portions large enough for plenty to take home, though a little higher priced. They did not charge extra for the bread sticks. The fruit cup was large and delectable, about 7 types of fruit including strawberries. My wife had a very tasty salmon entree. They were able to accommodate her gluten free needs with no problem.

I took my family for a pre-Christmas dinner at the Olde Richmond Inn on Friday December 22nd. The interior of the restaurant is very old fashioned and kept in great condition. We ate in a room with a small gas fireplace. The room was very cozy and the Christmas decorations went well with the age of the room. The staff was busy during the transition from lunch to dinner, but the bartender was willing to leave his post and help take our orders. He was very polite and did a great job taking our order. As more staff arrived we were checked on and waited on by several others, nice to see a team working well together. The food was great. I had the roast duck, baked potato, caeser salad, and sauteed mushrooms. My wife had the prime rib with mashed potatoes, sauteed zucchini, and a tossed salad. She said her meal was cooked well, but the mashed potatoes were slightly under seasoned. My oldest daughter had the grilled salmon with fries, sauteed zucchini, and a caeser salad. She said her salmon was delicious. My youngest daughter had the shrimp alfredo with a caeser salad. She was very happy with her meal as well. All together our meals averaged about $21 per person, which seemed reasonable with the quality of the meal and the portion sizes. I am going to make dinner at the Olde Richmond Inn a Christmas tradition from now on.

I had the delicious Herb Crusted Cod, seasoned potatoes, garlic sugar snap peas, salad and breadsticks for lunch. Everything was perfectly prepared. This is my very favorite go to restaurant for a quiet relaxing lunch. Our server was prompt taking our order and attended our table adequately.

This will take a little bit of finding off interstate as its in the heart of Richmond. There is good parking out front despite the downtown location. The place is luxurious, beautifully decorated. Good to take business clients or romantic dates. We were afraid to go in but found the prices surprisingly reasonable. I ordered a queen size Prime Rib and my wife had sea food Alfredo. The Tab was $51.09 which included a lemonade. My Prime rib was done to perfection, tender and accompanied by highly edible fries. I say that because most restaurant fries now a days are used as "plate Fillers' It also came with a small onion soup that was just right so as not to ruin my appetite.I also got a small salad. My wife's dish was delicious, containing scallops and shrimp but unfortunately some fake crab meat that took away from it being perfect. The service was professional and staff even helped us with directions. The interior was Charmingly decorated. Locals have a gem here and hopefully will continue to support it.

The wife and I ate here with another couple in June, 2021. We had not eaten here in many years. My wife frequents their sister restaurant Galo's and enjoys their food. As the name implies the restaurant is in an old Inn and thus has separate dining areas. A few table were on the sidewalk out front. The décor is dated as expected. Our waiter was friendly but clearly inexperienced. The food was often served by other team members. The food was better than expected. We were concerned that many options would not be available since they were going to be shut down shortly for a week to do remodeling. The crab stuffed mushroom appetizer went over well. My filet was tender, flavorful and properly cooked. One guest ordered the duck that looked just ducky. My wife's orange roughy was enjoyed as well. The only disappointment was the key lime crème Brulee. It was not as tart as hoped. Overall the dinner was very good in a nice atmosphere with a fair price attached.

Stopped in on our way driving thru. Definitely felt like I had stepped back to the 80s. Menu is huge (probably too big). My wife had the salmon and I had the filet au poivre. The salmon was good, but not exceptional. My steak was very good, but the au poivre sauce was probably from a can (or a Knorr brand sauce packet) and was very gelatinous (not authentic or very good). The steak on its own was very good. The sides were also old school and not memorable. I would stop again for a steak, but leave off any sauces.
