A quirky spot with decor that looks like a cross between GaudĂ and Lord of The Rings. It is worth stopping just for the decor however the food is excellent too. Prepared fresh and suitable for Vegan and Gluten free this is a popular spot. They have limited seating indoors but lots of outdoor seating and they do take away.

This place is well worth a visit just for the quirky and unique decor. There is no other place like it and if you visit on a day that is not too busy, it offers a tranquil, but arty place to have a relaxing cup of coffee. There are options for cozy private tables or tables outside in the courtyard. Young kids will require close supervision as there are multiple potential hazards if there were let loose.
We stopped for morning tea (coffee actually!) and found ourselves really enjoying the crispy pastries on offer. Not often you are served a proper crispy pastry that is not microwave soggy.

Lovely decor and a great fun place for lunch. Burgers and wraps are delicious and reasonably priced.
One can dine intimately within several alcoves, indoors or alfresco.
An enjoyable place worthy of repeated visits.

We had little barky dogs with us, so sat out the back in the shade. It was very busy, so we were content to wait. My husband was brought a burger and my bagel was not forthcoming. Then a very young waitress came out with what looked like our meals. I waved at her and held my number up but she went away and didn't come back with my meal. We then found out that my husband had got a burger meant for someone else. She then gave our meals away. There is a table number system that she didn't seem familiar with. Our order had a number and our table had the same number - how difficult is it? The lady on the desk didn't offer an apology and no refund for my non existent meal was offered - my husband had to demand it! We pass here often, I had to plead with my husband to stop there, as we usually stop at a cafe up the road, where we can take the dogs and is not busy but the food's not great. I doubt if he'll stop at the improperly named Eutopia ever again!

We stopped in here on our way past as we had been recommended by family that it was a “must” if passing through.
We arrived and it was raining constantly and although the place looks unique it was super slippery with the tile flooring throughout and my toddler kept skipping over.
There were only 5 covered spaces where you could sit, everything else was outdoors (and wet), and all seats were taken.
I went to order and the staff sitting behind the counter just looked at me rudely, didn’t even acknowledge my presence. Eventually a nice young lady took my order, two small coffees takeaway, but it then took half an hour for them to even make them (they actually asked me what I was waiting for after my half hour wait). There were lots of other people cramped in the waiting area asking where their coffee was too.
I’m sure if you’re not in a hurry and it’s not raining this place wouldn’t be quite so bad but my experience today has ruined it for me.
I thought there might be more gluten free options but was only one gf brownie so if you’re going here looking for gf options I wouldn’t bother!

Disappointed we couldn’t order breakfast but we ordered other meals, salad was good, BLT was just ok and with our toasted sandwiches one turned up missing the tomato and both were tiny like the end of a ciabatta loaf. Took our friends with us as we had raved about previous meals we had had there, they won’t be back. I was wondering if it had changed hands or kitchen staff.

We've been here many times and the experiences were 5 stars. However, this time the service wasn't up to usual standards. We ordered a savoury scone and a Ham, Cheese, and Onion Toastie. The Toastie was great and was served quickly. However, despite saying quite clearly that we wanted a Savoury Scone, it was never put into our order. This meant we had to order it for the second time. They then brought out a sweet scone instead of the savoury one. Over all not a good experience today which is disappointing as it is usually very good.

Stopped here on the way back to Auckland. Was fairly empty but took 20 mins to get coffee. After 45 mins of waiting for the food went up to be told they were just about to start doing it. Left instead. This is the second experience like this. The person next to us at the counter was complaining for that same thing. Two visits and twice leaving with empty bellies mean no more visits here.

Loved the atmosphere, fun place for my son, managed to "score" our own little quirky cabin. The meals were pleasant. But ...... I know it was a busy day, the day after Boxing Day ... when we ordered we were told there was a wait of 20-25 mins. Our meals took an hour to come out. The place was busy but nowhere near full. I'm sorry but an hour is not acceptable!!!

Stopped for a coffee, passing thru Kaiwaka. Their cabinet food looked so good, tried my first ever date scone, and it was the nicest scone I've ever had. Service was good, coffee was good and facilities were clean and tidy. Quirky building worth stopping at definitely recommend.

Worth a visit! Quirkiest cafe I’ve ever been to. Wouldn’t be out of place in middle earth/Lord of the Rings. The buildings are gorgeous and beautifully made. Would be even cooler if the serving dishes, meals and people’s outfits were also in theme.
Seems really out of place in the area but love the design. It’s east to miss when driving through.
Awesome carrot cake. Worth a stop. Prices are reasonable and serving sizes are large.

IGNORE ALL NEGATIVE REVIEWS. This is the most amazing place on SH1. A complete surprise. On our way to airport we made a stop in a wonderland of lovely quirkyness and beauty. If you love Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones or Fantasy or just like unusual places this is the spot. It is beautiful and magical round every corner. The breakfast we had was superb and the staff were really friendly. We will make a point of going there when we come back to NZ again.

Absolutely appalling effort from manager and owner.
Treated with no respect and a pity pastry to try and compensate for a bland meal with hair in it. Totally unbeatable due to it also being stone cold.
I’m not one to judge a person on how they look but when you are the owner of a cafe I would hope you present yourself better then the owner of Eutopia did.
Her hands were Cleary dirty with dirt nails also - Her hair was not in a hair net and poorly tied up and to make things worse she as the owner was the ONLY one NOT in the dress code which I’m assuming is black which is what all the servers were wearing.
I’m completely upset about this visit not even the amazing smiles, small talk and coffee between the front of house and servers could make up for the mess of what they call a kitchen.

Finally after driving past this place many many times we stopped for lunch. I was not disappointed, fun quirky building/decor, great tasty food and service with a smile. Will certainly stop again!

Lovely food, great area for the kids to run around. The coffee was really good, strong and hot. Service is very friendly, they were very accommodating with our requests!! The mosaics and artwork are incredible, I really can't rate this place highly enough. We will definitely be back.
