This place it’s called “la nonna Italian Bakery”, i am Italian and i think that it’s nothing special and it’s clearly not what you expect from an italian bakery. The sandwiches bread it’s called focaccia but it doesn’t taste or even look like real focaccia,they...don’t even warm the sandwiches up,they take them out from the cabinet and you have to eat it cold. ($15 for a cold sandwich!) It’s silly because it’s a place on the road and if i’m going to Auckland with the car i don’t obviously have nothing to warm my sandwich up. Coffee is okay.More

Purchased a loaf of bread being Multigrain with rosemary and olives Got home and a multigrain loaf with sultanas!!! Who eve does that, plus bread was dry and crumbly and at $7 we might as well as thrown the money in the bin as we...actually couldn’t eat it....More

We popped in this Dec. '20 I love my pies and we had a bakery ourselves and always when traveling we'll try them, I have to admit their pies had way to much pastry and not enough meat . Sorry guys you have to do...betterMore

This bakery is well worth a stop. We have stopped often. They do old fashion cinnamon/sugar type donuts with fresh cream that have become a family favourite. The veggie Muffins have lots of veggies and are very tasty. The almond crossants are one of the...best I have had. They also make nice crusty rolls with a choice of fillings, the Tuna one is yum.More

Had a mince and cheese pie each and chocolate croissant and a cinnamon donut. Absolutely gorgeous. Will now only stop here in the future.

If you enjoy a good Kiwi pie, La Nonna is up there with the best. It operates as a cafe as well, without any pretensions; we've stopped there many times and never been disappointed. Very easy parking for campervans. We've also bought items for later...lunch from there, without any issues. In summary - a great place for a pit stop.More

We’ve bought bread here before and found it reasonably good if very expensive. But today’s loaf was stale and hard. Not edible. We didn’t get to try it until miles away or would have taken it back. $6.90 for a not very big loaf is...a bit of a rip off but for stale bread it’s completely unacceptable. That’s the last time we’ll go there.More
