I had the roast turkey and my wife the salmon fillet Followed by a very good Christmas pud for me and ice-cream for my wife. Plus 2 glasses of wine. Overall very good although my wife said the presentation of her ice-cream could have been...better! The service was excellent and very efficient.More

Good service but not value for money ,very expensive for small portions ,tough beef over cooked , chicken on the bone was dry over cooked and food was barely warm/ stone cold vegetables ,presentation looked great but wouldn’t go back for a roast dinner,

We just had a beautiful meal at The Old Forge. The service and food was exceptional. We all had the Sunday Roast and all of it was lovely, especially the childrens’ roast which was fantastic quality and value. All Covid safe whilst maintaining a friendly,...relaxing environment.More

In the last month we've been to the Old Forge three times and every time it's just been perfect. The staff are extremely friendly, the food is outstanding, fabulous pub and it's dog friendly. What more could you ask for.

Lovely indoors and lots of space outdoors but portions seem to get smaller every time we go here. You get four or five chips in a portion of chips costing £3.75. Every time we go, we point this out to the staff and clearly, still,...nothing changes. Come on Old Forge, sort this out please.More

Food was good but failed to serve hot. My wifes icecream was a sorbet. Consolation was the half price on mains otherwise pricey. Excellent service though and a pleasant night out.

Table booked to celebrate dad's 80th. Went a day before to discuss that he has hearing difficulties and loses conversations in crowds. Were given a perfect table which meant he could be fully involved in the family celebrations. Food was excellent but service was better...- a few specific dietary requirements were dealt with professionally and with no fuss. All thoroughly enjoyed the experience and can definitely recommend.More

The Old Forge has been one of our favourite venues for both meals and drinks for many years. We ate at the forge the first night after lock down and were impressed at the way they were coping with the health and safety guidelines, this...has continued, and the team are both efficient and sympathetic with the COVID issues. Last night we went to the Old Forge for diner with a friend. We were greeted with friendly smiles on arrival and the team were very attentive throughout. The food was superb and the restaurant had a great atmosphere. Our server (HER NAME WAS AMY) informed us that it was her first week, but she was excellent and made us all feel very relaxed. Overall we had a brilliant experience last night, so well done Amy and the team! Thank you 😊More

Visited in September and our party order amongst others consisted of rack of lamb and pizza. All were faultless and a league above anything ever experienced here before as local frequents. The rack of lamb cooked to absolute perfection and the hand stretched pizza base...and toppings perfect. Commented on the marked improvement and were advised that the group head chef was in the kitchen for the night. Revisit first weekend of October with different freinds and order the same two dishes and a total difference. The lamb was over cooked and the hand stretched pizza was nothing like before and in all honesty was awful. The base more like a frozen shop oven ready bought deep pan and the topping a heavy deposit of both tomato and cheese in the centre that reminded me of when my son made a pizza on a pre bought base when he was five. I wont derail the salad and burger but quality was consistent. Trying to support our locals in the madness but if we are having to wear masks, follow a one way system and be out by ten the quality has to be there if we are spending £200 as a table for each rushed 2.5hr visit.More
