This was our first visit to this location. We dine at the Edwardsville location frequently so was constantly doing comparisons. we arrived around 2 pm and seated immediately. We noticed all of the staff were masked and that tables were spaced and cleaned after each...use. Our servers initials were AM and he did a nice job serving us. He was friendly and professional. Water was on the table almost as we were sitting down. Beverages were brought immediately and glasses kept full. My wife ordered the blackened chicken sandwich which was served with house made chips. The sandwich has lettuce, tomato and an avocado dressing that was excellent. The sandwich was large and the chicken grilled to a juicy fineness. She would order this again. I had a cup of the clam chowder which was much different than the usual cream base. It was not Manhattan style. Soup was loaded with potatoes and clams and a touch of spice. I also had the ahi tuna appetizer which was cooked past rare but was a nice serving over slaw and large chips. Was tasty but would make sure was ordered rare next time Nice lunch, we will have to return for dinner. The restaurant is very open and decorated nicelyMore

Great food and service! Bacon wrapped dates and giant shrimp appetizer were amazing. Salmon and steak entrees were cooked perfect! Mushroom risotto was tasty! Our new favorite place!

For our anniversary we went to 1818 chophouse and were very pleased. Reservations are required and there website gives you an option through yelp. The yelp site showed no tables available, but I called and was able to get in. So I recommend calling vs...yelp. Dinner was amazing, my wife ordered the 14oz delmonico with the blue cheese cream sauce, house mashed potatoes and the bistro salad. She said the salad was light and fluffy with the perfect amount of dressing the steak was perfect and really didn’t need or use the sauce. My meal was just as good I ordered the soup du jour 16 oz prime rib with baked potato. The prime rib was prepared perfect. We also got the goat cheese stuffed bacon wrapped dates that we melt in your mouth good. Our server Sam did an outstanding job of taking care of us without hovering, but always seemed to be there if we needed something. Because it was our anniversary Sam comped our desert of brûlée. We couldn’t have asked for a nicer place to celebrate. We highly recommend 1818 chophouse, we will be going back.More

We ordered carryout the evening of Sept 5, 2020. Part of our order was missing so we had to go back to the restaurant to pick it up (no offer of a discount given for the trouble, sadly). The food was subpar. My daughter's $37...steak was cooked unevenly, parts were completely raw and she couldn't eat it. The $15 octopus appetizer was minuscule...not even enough pieces for 2 people. As much as I hate to say it, the food quality was what you would expect at an Applebee's type of restaurant. We don't plan on visiting again.More

1818 Chophouse has a nice looking entrance with what is probably a very nice patio for a few months a year (I will be back to check it out in the warmer months). The restaurant is modern looking and lively. People and servers are bustling...about but it's big enough so no one feels rushed. We were automatically provided with water, nice touch. We started with the goat cheese brouleé. I could have been done there - it was on point. Then french onion soup - rivaled only by Café O'Lei in Kihei, HI. Wow. Our entree were served just as ordered - my only qualm - the steak did need one of the sauces you can purchase for extra. I asked the server if one was necessary for my filet - he said yes and I didn't listen because ... a $40 steak but in that, I was wrong. Anyway, I would definitely go back and get the sauce next time. My french 75 and the electric blue mascato were perfect libations to accompany our delicious meal.More

Well today we got up and wanted to have something different and we stopped in at 1818 Chophouse. The server Michael was very nice and made some awesome suggestions. The Prime rib sandwich was incredible and was the perfect touch before going on a appliance...shopping spree. The crab cakes were also a very tasty dish. But hold your horse’s because the pancakes were huge and with 3 of them you will not be hungry. Stop by and have brunch at the 1818 chophouse you will not be disappointed.More

I really enjoy this place for special occasion dinners but if you want a very nice lunch at a fair price, this is the place to go! The sandwiches include a side of fruit, house made chips, steak fries, their bistro salad, Cesar salad or...soup of the day. The burger is fantastic with toasted brioche bun, house made pickles and Boursin cheese mousse. The blacked chicken sandwich is also very good with gaucomole, pepper jack, and jalapeño aoli. My daughter was in town so we splurged on an appetizer and Creme brûlée for dessert. I have had their Creme brûlée before and it is perfect. The appetizer was to die for! It was brûléed goat cheese with apricot jam and dried figs served with a generous portion of warm thick slices of grilled buttery bread.More
