We had our perfect farewell dinner at Abisinia last night. The starter champignons fried with lots of knofi, herbs and chili, in oil- was already very delicious (one portion was quite enough for both of us!).
Then we both had the mackerel fillets on crispy potato slices, caramelized onions, sautéed peppers and avocado cream. The sight alone was fantastic and it was actually so, just super good, great tasted and the fish to the point! We loved it!! For dessert I had “Postres a la abuela Rosa”, a quite powerful layer dessert, also served with a lot of love and delicious.

There were three of us eating there.
Luckily there was a place left outside.
The waiter was very nice and friendly. He gave us precise information about the gomera wine that we ordered and enjoyed.
The food was excellent.

Fantastic cuisine! Delicate beef fillet cooked to the point in different variations (for the quality you would have to pay loosely 40€ in Germany), the tuna tender and not dry also in different variations (here I liked the wasabi salsa best). Restrained but attentive service!
We also had a very delicious Gomera wine!

Very delicious and tasty food, from the best in Valle Gran Rey. To repeat without a doubt. Exquisite mushroom cake, sirloin with date sauce and medregal; and granny cake for dessert. Very good atmosphere, quiet restaurant with spectacular service and attention.

Great food that was delicately arranged on a plate. Really elaborate.
In addition, one can drink the locally produced Gomera wine from Chipute, Montana (red) of Rajadero (white).

We ate here two nights running as we found the food to be lovely and the service was excellent. They only have a few tables so it is best to book ahead. I would recommend a visit here if you are staying in VGR.

The quietly spoken waiter (owner?) was very friendly and we enjoyed the draught Dorado Especial with 'bread and salsa' (actually a cream cheese with walnuts? and a mysterious-herb butter?). A plain grilled chicken with Canarian potatoes and garnish to follow, plus a second grilled chicken with mushroom sauce (actually cream and fresh mushrooms - delicious) with a small fried 'scalloped' potato. Oddly both chicken dishes were chopped-up into small chunks (?) - which did slightly spoil an otherwise nice dish. The house white was excellent (8 euros half litre) and the chocolate gateau thingy dessert was nice. We didn't find it much more costly than nearby restaurants and would dine there again.

All the dishes were very good, and the service was excelent. We had both meat and fish dishes, and was very satisfied with all the meals. If they have the local Rajadero wine, I will recommend trying it out - it is an exceptional wine from La Gomera.
