I'm disappointed with the recipes. This used to be my favorite Chinese restaurant in the Fox Lake area but now it's not good. I wish they'd make egg rolls like the former owners.

This is my go to place for Egg Foo Young. The brown gravy is to die for. They also have a sizzling rice soup I really like. The sisters are friendly, fast and always aim to please.

Appeared to have minimally remodeled inside and was under new ownership. We liked the food before although the restaurant was a little run down. This time they had different menus, colorful take out paper menus. Ordered couple of Mai Tais that tasted like fruit juices...& no alcohol. For appetizer we ordered 3 Egg rolls, because there were 3 of us there. They said they come in 2's and would have to get 2 orders or 4 egg rolls. Never had to do that in a Chinese restaurant before. So we got 2 orders or 4 egg rolls. They were average tasting. Egg drop soup was good. Husband ordered curry chicken. He said was ok. Son had chicken broccoli, which was definitely a different recipe than what they used to have. He was disappointed with it. I had Mongolian beef (not spicy). It looked really good but the sauce was too sweet. Besides dinner, they now have a flat screen tv on the wall that only plays you tube shows... They had a show on that was definitely not appropriate during dinner...stabbings, blood, foaming at mouth, nudity and swearing. Overall the visit was truly a huge disappointment. We won't be back.More

If I could give zero stars I would. Very dirty, bad lighting, outdated, small, and awful food. It is not that hard to make Chinese food. Broccoli was bad as in rotten, spicy food had zero spice, the sauce was flavorless, the cups were dirty,...and the chicken was questionable. I felt like bugs were going to seep out of the walls. Seriously the grossest restaurant I have ever been to. I am unsure how this place is still in business.More

On the advice of several family members, I drove out of the way to eat here while on a recent business trip. While the food was good - I can't say spectacular, just good - the overall feel for the place dropped when I was...continually pestered by the waitstaff asking why I was not ready to order. And then when i did - You Sure you want that? - it takes twenty minutes to cook. Overall: Meh to Meh+More

We love this restaurant! We have not been disappointed with anything we have tried. We only do carry-out but the inside is very inviting.

Have eaten here many times and have ordered food for take out from this restaurant. The food is consistently good. We enjoy Chinese food and this restaurant does a great job. Service is good and the room is always clean. Would not hesitate to eat...there again soon.More

Excellent food and great service. The establishment was clean. It appears take out is very popular for this establishment. We though stayed and eat. Portions were small compared to other Chinese restaurants I've been to in Lake and Cook counties. One small cup of rice...for two adult meals. The waitress did get us another small cup of rice upon requests.More

This small cafe packs a big punch with Chinese food in Fox Lake. Starting with a great Mai Tai, hot n sour soup, and eggroll and hot tea, our dinner was off to a yummy start. Add some dumplings and the Shrimp with Lobster sauce,...and you will be back very soon.More

have eaten here many of times. The food is always great. The soup is good. Like my food with a little different taste and this place is like that. Not super spicy.

We order take out from here several times a month and occasionally dine in. Take out always steaming hot. Best Mongolian beef I have had and great pork fried rice. Have not had a bad dish yet. Dine in service is attentive and friendly and...as quick as take out. You can tell everything is prepared to order. The restaurant is nothing to write home about and the tables are a little wobbly but it is clean and neat. If you've got a hankering for American "Chinese" food this is the place to go.More
