Great breakfast, nice athmosphere. Great variaty in choice for breakfast. Service was friendly and helpful in narrowing down the choices for food. Also, good coffee, not unimportant :).
This is a hidden gem in the diamond district/Loop. The building is large and ornate and some of the tables are in the lobby while others are inside with more of a cozy diner vibe. Either way is very pleasant. The food was delicious and...freshly prepared from scratch. I couldn't believe the price for such a touristy area. Great value for a full sit down breakfast in the Loop.More
Recommended by a friend was a little tricky to find first time but good food, plenty of choice and a super friendly team says so much about a place. Located in an iconic building this really is worth visiting. Great old fashioned genuine American hospitality...I remember of old. Thank you……I’ll be back.More
Popular downtown breakfast spot with fast and friendly service in a very casual atmosphere. Food was good, well seasoned and offered variety of choices.
Good food, good service reasonably priced and in a neat building. Loved the ambiance and the staff. It was a short walk from our hotel on Michigan Avenue and well worth it.
Handy spot for breakfast in the Loop (close to L and bus and just around the corner from the park and bean) if you don't want a Starbucks or modern cafe. If anything a little quiet as one of the few businesses that appear to...be left in the building but a wonderfully atmospheric setting. Huge choice for breakfast and food was good with quick service.More
I ordered hash browns with bacon and eggs (sunny side up) and had a muffin. The hot sauce on the table went well with the hash brown. I also ordered an English breakfast tea, and because I'm fussy asked for normal milk (without cream), it...felt like nothing was too much to ask and the service was extremely excellent. The whole meal cost me less than $16 (before tip) which is cheap for Chicago. Overall the food was simple but will cooked, although the bacon a little crispier than I like. For the price (in the loop in Chicago) this was a pretty decent feed.More
I don’t understand the good reviews on this place. The service was Ok, but the food was really, really bad. I ordered avocado toast, it came in a dry toast, without butter in it, a lot of dry arugula, a tiny bit of avocado and...an egg on top. It was so dry and tasteless I couldn’t eat. And the worst part, my knife was completely dirty, it hasn’t been washed. The whole place gave me a really bad vibe.More
Good food in a historic building - we had French toast with eggs and bacon, very tasty. "Outdoor" cafe in an indoor setting. Service was fine, a little slow but we were there after breakfast rush and were in no hurry. Restaurant is located inside...an old Chicago dame - The Pittsfield Building - which was magnificent in its day, but is a fading beauty these days. I really enjoyed viewing the architecture of the building while we had our meal. Would return again next time we're in town.More
Great place, stylish environment, excellent food and friendly service. As simple as this. If you want to start your day in Chicago in style go there and enjoy American food at its best.
We were staying at the Staypineapple hotel close by and came here every morning for breakfast. Great variety on the menu and we went through all different choices every day and were never disappointed. Was always a blend of tourists and locals and all in...all great value for money.More
Classic diner in a great downtown location. Great service. Based in a nice building … look for the sign on the sidewalk else difficult to find
Well this is a hidden gem, on the ground floor of the Pittsfield Building which feels pretty empty. The art deco look is all around (the lifts / elevators are amazing) and, as with so many Chicago skyscrapers, the dimensions huge. The cafe is tucked...away and we enjoyed simple brunch fareMore
This restaurant was in the lobby of a building. Food prices were reasonable. Food itself was unremarkable. Service was quite good and I commend the staff. Bathrooms were atrocious This restaurant charges almost 4% for using your credit card, without notifying you prior to receiving...the bill. They suggest a tip percentage based on the entire bill including tax and card fee, so calculate your own tip amount yourself. While I tip generally 20% on the food and beverage total, these pricing practices are deceptive.More
