Great atmosphere! Very welcoming at the outside bar….very accommodating to your beverage and food.

I asked the wait staff what her favorite was and she mentioned the special looked really good. So I ordered the special Blackend Brazilian Wahoo (fish). Absolutely hands down delicious! Perfect 10! Cooked to perfection along with the veggies. I’m not sure if I was supposed to get bread or a salad but nothing else was served. I had to ask for silverware when it came. No one came around all evening to see if everything was ok or not (I was sitting at the bar). I ordered a bottle of the most expensive Chardonnay to go with it prior to the food ordered. The bartender was very nice, but he opened the bottle, put it in a bucket and then I was left to pour every glass including the first glass by myself. Call me old fashioned but if the server or bartender pours my wine I tip on the full bottle of wine. The bartender did finally check in to see if I wanted anything else and if it was good about . He was very nice, but disappointed he did not serve the wine nor check to ensure everything was ok. Live music was great, too! I would go back again for the food, but will expect min for service follow up

Excellent service and very tasty food

We went for brunch and the food was excellent and Very delicious. The staff was attentive, Always had your drink glasses filled and they went above and beyond for us. We had a party of about 10 and everything was exactly is ordered and perfect I highly recommend The Salty Snapper.

Great food!!

Food was great as well as the service. Kudos to all!! We had their specialty dish that evening and it was absolutely delicious. It was a red snapper with a creamy risotto underneath, garnished beautifully with asparagus tips, sweet potatoes and greens. Yummy!!

We enjoyed the atmosphere. The staff was very attentive with good service. As you would expect, the menu caters to seafood. I ordered the lemon shrimp. I usually like a red sauce, so that may influence my opinion. I expect a lemon sauce to pop. It did not. The shrimp themselves were excellent. My mash potatoes were skinless, which I really like. Good flavor. The fish and chips were good with really high marks for the homemade potato chips. The hushpuppies were a disappointment. I wonder if it was a bad batch first out of the kitchen. They had no flavoring. Just fried balls of corn breading. I would go back and try something different

Perfect Meal and Fun Atmosphere

First visit and it was awesome—entertainment, several bar areas (indoor &outdoor) AND great food and service. We sat at the bar on the inside and both had a Margarita, garlic sauce shrimp with corn on the cob and a salad AND key lime pie! Our bartender/server was knowledgeable and very pleasant. Wish we could go back but we live too far. You will love this place.

Dang. This is my go to place in Valdosta. Missed it tonight. But tuna poke is off the chain and the oysters are great. I like raw but very friendly staff and great drinks. Worth seeking this place out. I had to go go another place tonight for something sub par. Will be back to salty snapper next time I'm here.

I had the shrimp and grits - awesome! Husband had fish tacos - also awesome. Good service sitting out on patio. Great Marc margarita! We stop in Valdosta every year goi g down to FL. Will be making Salty Snapper our regular stop!

Umm - Menu has changed - and NOT for the better IMHO

We've loved Salty for long time, but the menu has changed - and in our opinion - definitely NOT for the better. Please re-tweak this ! Our table of several FISH Taco orders was met with negative reviews. On the plus side - at least the prices were waaaay better than the new Fairway Tavern in town - and drink pricing, too! Please fix menu - as we love the old Salty !

Wow! Definitely the best atmosphere and service I’ve had in a long time! The food was fabulous and plentiful for the price! We came here for brunch and the omelette was huge and very tasty! The French toast breakfast was amazing and delicious! A definite must in Valdosta!

It would be a 5 but my hubbie was not happy when they changed TV station from Waste Mgmt Golf Open to Super Bowl when we were watching the playoff hole (without asking). Food was great and their Marc margaritas was excellent.

They lied!!

We called to see how long a wait was ( we’re in from Chicago traveling to Florida)… we were told there was no wait… not true… long wait… ended up eating at the bar with no ambiance… oysters were good… Buffalo chicken and Baja grilled fish tacos were OK… quite an unusual restaurant, in a good sense. Overall… a B!

A warm welcome and fresh food!

I was traveling solo and wanted a place to stop and rest in between legs of my journey. I referred to Tripadvisor and found this place in Valdosta which didn't disappoint! It was just a couple miles off 75 and had fresh food and a very attentive staff! The only reason it's not 'excellent' is because it's not a five star restaurant but it's really not supposed to be either. It was exactly as advertised and I absolutely would come back! Highly recommend!

Tried this place based on reviews for seafood restaurants. Some of the best shrimp and grits I've had. The key lime pie, however, was not up to the same level.
