Stopped on the way home to ATL and the service was beyond impeccable. The restaurant was very clean and the food was amazing. The calamari was so fresh, the seafood platter had ana abundance of variety and the crab cakes were ltterally to big to finish. This gem is a must

Saw billboard for this restaurant while on my way to visit a friend in Valdosta. It was dinner time so I asked if they have heard of this place and they eat there regularly for lunch, so I didn’t’ have to twist any arms to go there for dinner. I had crab legs and they were delicious and very fresh. My friend had their usual shrimp boil and the shrimp were huge and they never tried the crab legs until I shared mine now we are both hooked! This will be my go to place every time I visit. Atmosphere is fun and laid back. Wait staff is fantastic and everyone was very friendly. Do yourself a favor and be sure to drop by this place, you will not be disappointed. I need one of these where I live. Oh...the prices are very very reasonable and portions are good.

Writing this as I’m chowing down on some awesome food. We started with the fried green tomatoes which was served with a bacon bleu cheese sauce that was great! We also had the bang bang shrimp which was a generous portion of about 10 shrimp and good sauce that was tasty and not very spicy. My entree was the fried grouper served with two sides, I got some very good cheesy grits and a decent mayo based cole slaw. This is a good vibe kind of place with very good service. If Bubba Jax is curious if the I-75 advertising is worth it, we’ll that’s what brought us in.

Absolutely delicious! Everything is so fresh Service is fast, respectful, friendly, and did I say delicious,😁 Whoever the chef is must be commended. Bubba Jax Crab Shack is just that …. A shack, and small yet wonderful. Would recommend to everyone.

Great all-around experience. Greeted when we walked in the door by a very friendly crew. Server was wonderful and all the staff was friendly. Wide variety of seafood dishes and appetizers-someting for everyone. Terrific environment. The food was awesome and priced very reasonably. Three of us for dinner including our favorite French Canadian manufacturer. We ordered a little of everything and no one left hungry-that's for sure. Of course our Canadian friend had never had alligator tail and he basically ate the entire basket by himself. I have a feeling he's going to force some of his restaurant owner friends to start importing it to Canada so Canadians beware... We travel to Valdosta quarterly and my only disappointment is that apparently they have been open for eight years and I wasn't smart enough to find them before tonight. We will definitely be back and will not hesitate bring groups there regularly. Thank you for great experience

Well portioned, good food!

We stopped on our travels and as usual, Trip Advisor server us well! Our party of 5 each had no complaints and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I had the shrimp salad with bang sauce and it was great and had a plentiful amount of shrimp on it. The fried pickles were thick pickle chips with good ranch. We would definitely go back.

We shared a catfish PoBoy lunch special with french fries and a side order of hush puppies. This definitely lived up to the reviews. The catfish was very lightly breaded, almost just grilled; it was fresh, good flavor, perfectly dressed. The French fries were excellent, crispy, not greasy, and cooked correctly. I normally don't rave about French fries, but lately they have not been very good at many places. The extra side order of hush puppies was so, so good. They had onion, maybe some other seasoning, hot, and flavorful. The entire meal was perfect. We would definitely return when we are in the area.

A destination on our trips

We found Bubba Jax with Yelp on our way back to TN from FL last spring and were blown away by the shrimp. One can buy a pound of shrimp and have them cooked any way. We chose fried. I'm thinking these are the best shrimp I've ever had .. huge, firm, delicious .. you can still taste the salt water. So good we made it a point to time our meals going to and from FL in December to hit Bubba Jax. Best meal we had on either trip.

Don't let the decor fool you

Wasn't sure what to think when we first went in, but the food was tasty. The fried shrimp, onion rings, calamari, and mozz sticks were all excellent. I would not recommend the crab cakes. The wait staff was pleasant. A lot of food for the price.

Great dive!

What a fun and unique experience! While traveling, I love to try "local dives" because they usually have the best food, and Bubba Jax does not disappoint. I had the Fried green tomatoes and Bubba shrimp and loved them both. (BTW their cocktail sauce is perfection) The waitstaff are friendly, attentive, helpful and fun. The decor is yrue "crab shack". If you like "off the beaten path" type places, this is your place!

We love to try local out of the way places when we’re traveling. This is a quirky little seafood stop. We sampled 3 dishes and all were delicious! Fried green tomatoes drizzled with a homemade sweet sauce and crumbled blue cheese, blackened shrimp and grits (don’t skip the bacon) were some of the best I’ve eaten and the lunch portion of shrimp boil with 2 sweet teas. Employees were friendly. Will stop again if we ever come back through.

It's a dive, but...

Bubba's is truly a local dive. Beer is served in bottles. Want a glass? Forget it. You get a Styrofoam cup. Want fancy plates and silverware? Forget it. You get paper plates and cheap metal forks. But, the food is really, really good. I had a pound of perfectly boiled peel and eat shrimp ($14.99) with awesome homemade cocktail sauce. I also ordered a couple sides, which came in Styrofoam cups. My wife had a shrimp dinner which came with hush puppies and two sides ($19.99). Both of us really enjoyed the food. The restrooms are straight out of the 1960s and have seen their better days. Ditto the tables and chairs. Napkins are a roll of paper towels. You get the picture. But, if you want really good seafood at very reasonable prices and want to sample South Georgia lifestyle, Bubba's is a must stop.

FINALLY!! my fill of shrimp

We were headed out of FL after about 5 days of pool and seafood but I just had this hankering for more shrimp. Well, we blew past everything in northern FL and closing in on Valdosta, Yelped up a seafood place on the north side of town .. overshot the first exit and got off on W Hill Ave with a good little trek ahead .. passed Bubba Jax right off the exit and thought "maybe they have good shrimp". Boy do they .. and the menu had this cool option to get a pound of them cooked any way. Fried!! For the first time ever, I got enough, neigh too many fresh, firm, lightly dusted, fried jumbo shrimp. We split that and a side salad with great homemade blue cheese dressing, couldn't finish and left with half a dozen jumbos .. which got consumed a few hrs later in a Buc-ees parking lot. We're headed back to FL in a couple weeks and I hope to hit Bubba Jax going each direction. Btw, the service was good and very friendly.

The grouper had no taste. A tad rubbery The portions were good size but the lack of taste and quality of the fish just diminished the meal. Perhaps frying the fish would have been better, at least the batter might have been tasty

Great service! Food was awesome!

We were traveling through from Missouri to Port Canaveral for a cruise. Saw this little place across from our hotel and decided to check it out. So glad we did! We got oysters, shrimp and crab legs and everything was excellent and the prices were even better. The oysters were plump, and the shrimp and crab legs were seasoned perfectly. The best service as well! The staff was humping it to to a very busy night. They showed a lot of teamwork in turning tables and did it all with a smile and friendly environment! Loved our server! The experience was so awesome that we are stopping again in Valdosta for lunch on the way home just to eat at Bubba Jax.
