Great Visit and Dinner

We wanted fish so drove 35 miles to visit George and Louie's. We had a great dinner, The seafood was perfect and we were constantly checked on to make sure we had what we wanted/needed. Like every restaurant, there will times when things are not right. This is the first place I have been to that Immediately made everything right. The owner and all staff are engaged, smiling and happy to see you. The atmosphere is great and décor is just right. Patio or inside are both great. Will go back again. Thank you George and Louie and of course the staff.

You can always get a great meal here. The owner is generally there taking customer orders or out front visiting to make sure you have what you ordered the way you ordered it. That is pretty good quality control.

Delicious seafood in a lovely setting

What a splendid place for a casual dinner in Thomasville. While the crowds wait down the street, you can walk into this place without a reservation on a Saturday night. Orders are placed at the counter, but food delivered to tables. Outdoor dining under the umbrella table was perfect. We ordered a mahi mahi sandwich and a Greek salad with grilled shrimp. Very pleased with our meals. The staff was lovely, and I would be happy to return again. Recommended. The baklava desserts sounded great, but we stuck with our diets.

FIRST & LAST TIME

We visited on a Thursday for dinner. The place and parking lot were packed. There were 5 adults and 2 children in our party. The wait time to order wasn't terrible but the wait time for our food to arrive was inexcusable. It took over an hour for the adult orders to arrive and then it took another excruciatingly long 15 minutes for the child's order to finally arrive after someone had to ask employees about it twice. Food was fair - nothing special, there are much better seafood restaurants nearby who understand customer service and wait times. My fish was good but the coleslaw was terrible - way too coarse and dry and no flavor at all. My only conclusion about the wait time is that they were putting drive thru orders ahead of those dining inside - that's just my guess. I will never know because I will never return. There are far too many great alternatives to give this place a second try. Also, the prices are ridiculously high. Even if the food had been great, it was still too high.

Another Great Option in Thomasville

What a great gem. Went with my husband and teenage kids. Everyone was able to have a delicious meal from my picky eater to me with lots of dietary restrictions and intolerances. Clean and fresh seafood. Plenty of choices.

Great Family or Couples Restaurant

George and Louie’s has been a family favorite for quite a few years now. We always leave satisfied! Pros • Menu includes a range of entrees and sides, including healthy options • Everything is cooked to order and is fresh • Service is excellent, and the owner is always around to check on customers • Blue cheese dressing is some the best Cons • Menu is a bit pricey since most entrees don’t have a drink and side included • Indoor dining area can be loud sometimes, especially when busy • Parking can fill up quickly

Best Seafood in Town

Whenever I get a hankering for seafood, George & Louie's is the ONLY place to go. The po boys are fantastic! Treat yourself to onion straws and fried green tomatoes! The fried food is flaky, perfect, and so flavorful. The hush puppies are divine! But wait! The burgers are arguably the best in town! Try a greek salad, they are a satisfying meal on their own! You can sit inside or out, hit the drive through or order ahead for pickup. This is one restaurant that does everything right.

Great Service and Food

Our order was taken at the counter by a courteous and helpful employee, and as we looked for a table we were greeted by the founder of the restaurant. After a very pleasant conversation, our food arrived, prepared how we requested. We enjoyed our meals very much, and appreciated the comfortable atmosphere. So glad we made this choice on our visit to Thomasville.

Better than Jonah’s - (sorry) 😬 The grouper sandwich was outstanding and the homemade tarter sauce the best I have even tasted😍. My husband tried the oyster poboy it was also delicious even the bread was really fresh with extra crispy crinkle fries and great a Greek salad. We will definitely be back 💕

We want to like this place. Owner very friendly and customer service is great. Food not so much. Underwhelmed with everything. Expensive given the portion and quality. If food was great, small portions would not be an issue. Greek salad is not traditional or flavorful and Po Boys are poorly executed with Leidenheimer Bread no where in sight. Confused by five star reviews. Visited twice and will not be back,

We did the food tour, one of the funnest experiences, and such pleasure to discover a hidden gem!! The food was fresh, delicious, plenty.... the service was great, friendly, knowledgeable, and very personable. We're are looking forward to coming back!!!

Pleasantly surprised at just how good it is.

Good selection and always very good. If you are there for lunch it will be very crowded, it is a local lunch favorite. You order at the counter and they bring your selection to you. Friendly and courteous staff, the owner will probably stop by an check on you while you are there. I always like to see that in a restaurant.

It’s been a pandemic ago that we last visited. The food was excellent again! I had the grilled grouper sandwich. My bride had her favorite hamburger with a side of fried green tomatoes. Thanks for keeping the food consistent everytime.

Walk in, order at the counter, and seat yourself. Food brought out fresh and hot. Excellent fried green tomatoes and mahi gyros! Personally met George as he greeted and checked on tables- very nice man! Highly recommend!

Great Dining Experience

This was my first time to visit this restaurant. It was such a delight! When we first arrived it was pretty crowded but soon thinned out because it was almost closing time. The owner was present and walking around to all the customers. It added a great personal touch. The grilled shrimp and mahi mahi was delicious. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit!
