My husband and I went to Jonah’s Fish and Grits for our 48th wedding anniversary. Our neighbor recommended it to us and we were very glad she did. The staff were super friendly. Our waitress could not have been more responsive to our needs and the food was some of the best EVER! We started out with some fried oysters then I had the Cyclone shrimp and hubby had the shrimp and grits. We topped it off with a piece of key lime pie. We staggered happily back to our car and promised ourselves a return visit.

Hush puppies were the best I’ve ever tasted! We were brought 4 on the house and then we ordered them as appetizers. Took most away in doggy bag since we had more food to enjoy. My husband had shrimp and grits, which was what we had heard they were known for, and it was delicious. Very very rich so I would suggest sharing. I went healthier... salmon with brussel sprouts. Good but not special. Would have loved to have had creme brûlée for desert but they were already out. Maybe next time! So we went across the street to a candy/bakery store. The cookie there was fantastic! We did have to wait for 40 minutes but the town is so completely charming you can easily enjoy walking around. And there is a winery shop to have a glass of wine before dinner while waiting.

This was our first stop on the food tour and we were able to walk right in and be served immediately while other diners were waiting for tables. The shrimp and grits were so creamy and yummy! I’m not a big veggie fan but the zucchini in it was perfect. Would definitely eat here again.

Bar none, some of the best grits And key lime pie I’ve ever had. We started with the hush puppies which are super good. They do have a little spice but it wasn’t unmanageable considering I can’t handle any spice. My husband ordered the Cajun shrimp and grits and my parents shared the classic shrimp and grits. The Cajun is spicy so beware if you don’t like hot. They all said they were fantastic. I had the grilled shrimp and scallops and it was some of the best cooked scallops I’ve had in a long time. They were flaky and not rubbery. I had fresh spinach and the white cheddar grits as a side. The grits were so good and creamy. I highly recommend them as a side. Then we finished off with dessert: key lime pie. This is equal in quality to my mom’s key lime pie. It was good. Tart without being too tart. I highly recommend this place if you want some real shrimp and grits in GA.

Stopped in for lunch while visiting Thomasville - easy 10/15 minute wait to get a table. This place is a local hangout as well as welcoming tourists! The server was a bit slow getting our order but ... food was out before we finished those delectable hush puppies that are such a rave! The Classic Shrimp&Grits do not disappoint flavorful, generous portion and I enjoyed the vegetables underneath (decided that’s what eases our conscience to it being extremely healthy 😉), the Greek Salad was also generous and fresh.

It's nestled in scenic downtown Thomasville, GA. Very nice atmosphere, a small waiting area outside, and the wait wasn't long. The shrimp and grits I had was hot, the grits were creamy and flavorful, and plenty of shrimp. My wife and daughter shared a shrimp and fry dinner which was plenty for them to share, and very well prepared.

We arrived just before opening at 11:00 with 10 other hungry folks. We were promptly seated but waited 15 minutes before our waitress arrived to take our order and demanded we get the complimentary hush puppies which we said we did not want but she brought anyway. I ordered unsweet tea but she refilled my glass with sweet . When I told her I had ordered unsweet she argued with me, grabbed the glass and walked off returning with a new glass. 50 minutes later, I asked when we could expext our food. She became testy and said when the cook gets to it. After one hour, a different waitress brought our food to us. The food was DELICIOUS. I had the grouper sandwich which was cooked to perfection. Too bad our experience was tainted by a rude, incompetent, mouthy waitress. We will not return.

We drove over to visit Thomasville from Tifton and walked straight into Jonah’s for a bite. We loved the atmosphere and the reason the owner came up with the name. Our waiter was a righteous dude hailing from the west coast as we shared that we lived in Portland, on west coast. We devoured the hush puppy starters, grits and spicy shrimp, and pasta dish which were all mouth watering. We ended with the key lime pie which was a sublime treat as we realized we had hit our limit. The atmosphere is welcoming and yes the southern hospitality is in full display. This was the highlight of our “Rose City” day trip and we spent the rest of the day enjoying the sights of the town. We would drive back through Thomasville from Georgia coast to visit again and think its possible to see Jonah’s one day expand to other South Georgia towns! Overall a great way to start the day in Thomasville!

Great location. Beautiful courtyard for dining. The weather was perfect. All the food was delicious but the shrimp and grits were the best I’ve ever eaten. Hush puppies with honey butter were delicious as well.. does nit serve alcohol.

Met cousins there for lunch. Had a 30 minute wait when the place had only been open 30 minutes. Well worth the wait! Our food was outstanding! We had grouper chowder, crabcake sandwich with fried green tomato and bacon, cheese grits. WOW. We all loved the experience and the service was excellent.

A little bit of a wait, but the food and service was well worth it! The part of town is gorgeous and plenty of little shops. The small portion of shrimp and grits was plenty of food for me and my husband got the cyclone shrimp which was delicious with the perfect kick. It was a perfect dinner and very affordable.

The place was hopping at lunch time and we had a small wait for a table. There's benches outside and they will take your phone number and call you if you want to wander for a bit. We ordered the crab bisque and fried green tomatoes for appetizers, and they were both excellent. They bring out a basket of warm hush puppies with fresh butter that are the bomb!! We could have ate 50 of them. We then ordered the shrimp and grits and a trout special. OMG. We had to take some home because we couldn't finish them. The key lime pie was sublime.

Stopped in while driving the light, and so glad we did. The blackened grouper Tasso was absolutely perfection. I love and eat fish often as we live on the Gulf Coast, but this grouper was sensational. Trying to find another reason to be back that way to stop in again. Hush puppies were also good and my husband very much enjoyed the scallop pesto pasta

The friendly staff are always willing to help vacationers and those coming through town looking for excellent quality food that is hard to find when traveling. Jonah's has a great menu to choose from. A must stop when in town.

This is the place to BE in Thomasville when it comes to seafood. I love the fires green tomatoes and the shrimp and grits; those are the only two things I get when I’m there. My mom loves the salmon. They also give you really good hush puppies as well. The parking is typical of a downtown; you may not be able to find a spot in the front, but they have lots on the off streets. Be prepared to wait for a while if you come during prime time hours (11am-1:30pm) on the weekend. The place is really small as well. Definitely recommend!
