Both my wife and I enjoyed our lunch at Hudsons. My soup of the day, a corn/crab Chowder, was excellent. My wife's burger was done to her order. My Cuban sandwich provided two meals. I'm not real keen on the 18% automatic tip. I usually...reward good service with a larger amount.More

My wife and I enjoyed lunch at Hudson's On The River recently. We sat at the bar and we enjoyed our martinis that were perfectly prepared. The bartender was very personable and attentive to our needs. We shared a delicious bowl of clam chowder. My...wife loved the Asian chicken salad and I enjoyed the shrimp tacos. We will definitely return to Hudson's for lunch or dinner sometime soon.More

Overall great experience. Great location. Atmosphere/property looked well taken care of. Our waitress gave great service. We had Dulce Pineapple Jalapeño Margarita’s which were spot on. Prime rib was great and sashimi was fresh (they were out of Hamachi but the Salmon and Tuna were...great). The only disappointment was the seafood tower for two. Compared to others I’ve had it was just OK. Would have liked the Crab to come in the claws and not in a tin can filled with crab meat.More

What a lovely place! Went for dinner around 7:30pm on a Friday night- got seated right away to a perfect outdoor table! I ordered the Cuban Sandwich- so incredibly tasty! Mom ordered the short rib and it came topped with the most unique onion straws-...so yummy! Shared the Key Lime Pie- a perfectly-portioned and scrumptious dessert! Will be back to catch a sunset dinner for sure!More

My son took me to dinner, seafood tower was not bad, shared a nice and reasonably priced bottle of wine. But his dinner was some uninspiring fish tacos, mine was a dried out and tasteless. "market price" black grouper served on some unidentifiable mess, which...apparently was some kind of parsnip. You could have fooled me. If I had been paying for it, I would've sent it back, but I was a guest. I chewed some of it down and said I was full. I know it's midsummer in Florida, but the place was almost empty, if other guests had the same standard of food I did I can see why. Will NOT be going back.More

Very nice restaurant, beautifully decorated and wonderful views of the river. The service was very good. Our server was attentive, pleasant, and fast. The menu is quite good: ample and interesting choices. The food was excellent. Several of us ordered the maple-glazed pork belly with...yuca fries. Delicious, beatifully presented and the perfect size. The poke bowl was very good and large. The roastbeef sandwich aujus was also excellent. The crab and corn chowder was great with a perfect spicy touch. The tortilla soup was ok but could have used some smoked chipotle peppers, avocado and cream to be more authentic. Overall an excellent experience. We will be back soon.More

What a lovely setting. The menu is very interesting. I had the shrimp and scallop sandwich with yucca fries absolutely delicious. My husband had the shrimp and grits which he really enjoyed. Drinks were really interesting. My husband did not find the drink strong enough...for him. The service was excellent. My one complaint is they have a service charge. I would have given more for a tip but I certainly wouldn’t put it on top of the service chargeMore

Hudson’s is beautiful designed restaurant along the river in Stuart. After my wife had lunch with her girlfriend we decided to go for dinner last night. Season is over and we walked in and we seated right away the place was not busy. After waiting...a server poured water and said that she was not who was going to wait on us but Someone would be with us. Well, 20 minutes later Bri shows up. Food was good but Bri basically ignored us, when the food came out she said she would be back with our ketchup and NEVER CAME BACK. I went to a bus station and got some. She never checked on us , never asked us for another round of drinks. Just poor service! Why? It’s because the 18% tip is included- no incentive to do the job correctly. Then when the she brought the bill she advised us that the 18% was included and we could tip more if we wanted. Pretty ignorant of her, we ALWAYS tip well but she deserves less.More

Disappointed, heard nice things about this place but it did not live up to the hype. While the atmosphere was nice the food was mediocre. Service was again mediocre- our waitress went to check on our beer and never returned. On the way out my...husband used the washroom and said it was like a gas station urinal- glad he went as we were leaving! Will not recommend this place, in fact. I would go across to Sailors Return where we are never disappointed.More

The location is wonderful, you can sit out by the river and relax after getting your belly...full. There is also a bar, which means a well rounded drink menu drink menu.More

Visiting the area with my family and stopped in on a whim. We also liked the name, which is my sons name as well. The space was well designed with a really cool painted murals on the walls. We sat down and we’re greeted right...away. Awesome drinks, Lychee Margarita and a Paloma and kids drinks arrived a minute later no joke. We ordered oysters from and Coconut Shrimp which were delicious. My wife ordered seared Grouper over lobster risotto and I had seared Tuna over spicy kimchi fried rice. Both were outstanding. Kids ordered the usual BS, Chx fingers and fries. Up to this point everything was exceptional and I would even call it a dining experience, where it all comes together nicely, something that seldomly exists in a post Covid world. Anyway, the real stars of the show were desserts which some of the best we have has as a family in quite some time. Highly recommend the deconstructed Coconut Cream pie and the Chocolate Flan. Met the Chef too who was incredibly humble and prepared the meal from apps to dessert.More

This was our first time here, after watching it replace the Pelican Cafe in its riverside spot in Stuart. It's a very attractive place, with very pleasing and spacious outdoor deck areas. The outdoor seating and the view are it's biggest assets. But the negatives...far outweigh the positives. We specifically picked an evening with great weather, as we wanted to sit on the deck. So when we called for a reservation, we asked for outside seating, and were told that would be no problem. When we arrived, the hostess found our reservation. I said "That will be outside, right?" We were told that the reservation was for inside. When we explained that one of the main reasons to come that night was to experience the beautiful night and view, and therefore had asked for outside. The response, as she was pointing to her monitor, was "It says here it's for inside", then just looked at us. We said that was incorrect, and would like to sit outside. It took much deliberation and back-and-forth whispering on two of their parts, but we were finally told they could seat us outside. When we walked out to the deck, easily half the tables were empty, and over the course of our meal no more than 75% of the outdoor tables were occupied. The attitudes of both were less than friendly. When we were greeted with their, I'm sure, standard greeting of "Welcome to Hudson's" there was absolutely no eye contact, with the head kept down looking at her desk. While walking through the interior of the restaurant (very attractive decor, by the way) we both remarked how cold it was inside. The booths and tables were no more than half filled (at 6:30pm). We also both commented how loud the music was. Our server was fairly prompt in greeting us, and in taking our drink orders. There was a little longer-than-normal wait for the drinks, but nothing too bad. We were enjoying the view and the weather. But then she didn't return to take our food orders for a VERY long time - - - to the point that we started looking around for her to try to get her attention. She finally returned and took our order. We ordered one salad to split, as we normally do. It was timely presented, but in one bowl, placed between us, and it was pointed out that we could use our bread plates if we wanted to. I know , this isn't a real big deal. We've been other places where they just bring the salad on one dish, but in nicer restaurants they most always serve it "split". We had plenty of time to finish our salad (mediocre at best). Our entrees arrived. One of us had the snapper, which was found to be good. Tasty sauce that didn't overwhelm it. Flavorful bed of rice. Very nicely presented. The other of us had the seafood risotto. It consisted of three scallops, three shrimp, the risotto that was said to have crab in it. Never found or tasted crab. The scallops and the shrimp were very good, i.e. not over-cooked. But the risotto was extremely bland, with an off-taste I can't describe, to the point of only eating a small portion of it. Our server cleared the dishes and brought our bill, saying she'd take it up whenever we were ready. Well, after awhile we were ready. Then we were more ready. Then we were really ready. Still no server. Waaaaay too long of a wait. On each table is a card in a holder, stating that for all bills (not just for large parties) an 18% gratuity will automatically be added to the bill. And it was. We can't help but think, based on our poor service, that this is a disincentive for efficient and quality service. As we were walking out through the restaurant (about 8:00pm), there were only a few people inside, either at the bar or at a table. And it was even colder than when we first came in. Still loud music, though. Interestingly, in the last few days, in talking with others in our community, and our Hudson's experience comes into the conversation, we've heard that others have had similar experiences, and have said they would not go back. There are too many other restaurants in Stuart with better food and much better service.More

This was our first time at Hudsons On The River but it will not be our last. The restaurant was quite full at the time but there was no noise as mentioned in previous reviews. Our server, Heather, was absolutely excellent. I started off with...the coconut shrimp which was excellent. I then had the Blackened Mahi Mahi which was delicious. I ended the evening with the key lime pie which was served like a cup cake and was very good. We were able to enjoy a beautiful view of the river which made our evening even better. Great wine, great dinners, great service what else could you ask for. I highly recommend.More

Someone told us about this restaurant and we decided to go and I was very impressed. I like the menu choices a lot. We sat outside near the water for happy hour, and I had delicious martinis in a beautiful flowered glass. Joey was our...waiter. He was knowledgeable and good. unfortunately the oysters were way too big for what I was expecting but the rest was delicious. We had the Shishido peppers, the shrimp rolls. My husband had the Cuban sandwich and I had the duck tacos which were excellent. definitely going to go back.More
