It has been about a year since we traveled from Okeechobee to Stuart for dinner at Basil Basil has been on US-1 near the base of the Roosevelt bridge for many years. Of the six or more outside tables, only one two seat table looked...usable, all other outside tables where being used as a storage area. The interior has seen its better days including the bathroom. The host is a very nice and congenial man who serves as: host, waiter, server, busboy and cashier, all of those which he does very well. One of my guest ordered the Pad Thai with chicken, the other, Pad Woon Sen (clear noodle dinner) with pork. I ordered the same clear noodle dinner but with soft shell crab. My guests were quite pleased with their meals and we were all pleased with the portions. I was absolutely thrilled with my dinner and the perfectly fried soft-shell crabs (I believe at least two) chopped up unto the noodle dinner. The combination of the vegetables, clear noodles and crabs combined with 5-star hot sauce made it an awesome dish. I did add a little more hot sauce. I had a large hot sake with dinner and was quite happy with earthy flavor and potency. Meals for three including beverages and a 30% tip totaled $70.00 We were all very happy with the whole experience and do plan on returning sooner than later. It looks like the majority of the food served is take out or delivery. I believe if they annexed the poorly and unused outside seating area to expand and renovated the interior, it will be a 75% larger interior with more windows open for sunlight. It would make it an inviting place to sit down, eat and share time together. This renovation would definitely increase the sit down traffic.More

Basil Garden is one of those hidden jewels that offer great tasting meals at affordable prices. There are large selections of meals offered at spicy levels from 1 to 5. We usually chose level 3 that give tingling lips and pleasing taste. Meals at lunch...include entrees and, rice, spring roll with soup. Evening meals include rice, spring rolls and salad. Usually, meals are almost r are too much to finish. Meals to go are always the same fare that stay very hot.More

Passed this place on the road and decided to order takeout. Food was received quickly and hot! We had basil sauce with veggies and the cashew chicken - both were large portions and very tasty! Tempura cheesecake was a perfect end to the meal! Staff...was also very friendly and helpful. Would visit again if in the area.More

I order the same lunch special every time I visit. Thai red curry with pork. First off the soup contained rice (my previous visits it was broth). I didn’t like the addition of rice to the broth. The entree came promptly, was cooked to order...but the sauce didn’t have the same panach as previous visits. It wasn’t as sweet. I’ll visit again but will order a less spicy version. All in all, a gem of a family owned business trying to survive Covid.More

Iconic Thai restaurants both in Palm City and in Stuart. We went to the later one located on the southside of the new Roosevelt Bridge. The real question is: why did we wait so long to try this superb place? Service is impeccable. Friendly people...with a smile. We felt like family. Even though this was our first time, we felt like regulars. The restaurant is decorated with a number of Thai photos and sculptures. It is a bit dark, but pleasantly so. The food hit its mark. My wife and I both ordered a bowl of Tom Kha Shrimp soups. I ordered mine spicy—three out of five. The coconut milk as the main broth is outstanding. We liked the mushrooms used with this soup—the largest bowl in the county. I added a dish of Pork Pad Si-Ew. A small crispy spring roll comes with this dish. For those that are not accustomed to Thai, this dish is made with large flat rice noodles, egg and seasonal vegetables—carrots and broccoli. The brown sauce used to make it is superb. Again, one of the best Thai dishes in the area. We have come to LOVE Thai food. It is refreshing, different than Chinese, affordable and pleasantly tasty. We have no problem coming back to Basil Garden again. If you found this review “helpful” in any way, please press “LIKE” to let me know.More

Small simple place that does most of their business as take-out, but has a comfortable seating area. Food was simple and good. One of us had pad thai, one had curry, one had a salad with tofu. Two of us really enjoyed our dinners and...one thought her pad thai was too spicy (?!)More

Dined with a friend recently for lunch. This is a small, quaint restaurant. I ordered the Thai Green Curry & my friend ordered Pad Thai. Both entrees came with a lovely light soup broth & a spring roll freshly prepared. I highly recommend this tiny...gem within walking distance of downtown Stuart.More

There is a section of lunch deals which include soup and a spring roll. You choose a meat/fish and a sauce preparation. The deals include a rice. The place is small. Eat inside or out. Seafood was tasty. Attentive service. If you want larger servings,...do not do specials.More

Had a busy Saturday morning shopping and getting ready for Easter Sunday. We have driven past this place 100s of time and never stopped in. Today we decided to give it a try and I'm glad we did. Service was fast and the soup and...spring roll was a nice surprise. Ordered steamed dumplings. The dumplings were nice the dipping sauce I didn't care for. Both the green curry and the chicken with ginger sauce were very good. We will go backMore

Our first visit to this restaurant was a Wed. evening, we have driven by countless times. Our friends had been there once years ago. Very cute & quaint from the outside, humble interior. Excellent fast service beginning with a round of ice water immediately upon...seating. We ordered fried wontons and shrimps in blankets appetizers with our drinks -- both wonderful with a lovely sauce. All of our entrees were plentiful and delicious! Smiles, oohs & ahhs all around. I ordered the green curry with shrimp, level 2 spice -- delicious and so flavourful & enough to take home. Served with white rice in a cute heart shape 💕. Next time I might try level 3 just for fun. My boyfriend had the pad see ew w/ chicken -- this is the second time he has eaten Thai food -- he loved it, as did I. The food was all fresh, fragrant & so flavourful. The complementary fried banana dessert was a sweet touch. Our server was friendly, attentive, with a sense of humour. All this at a very reasonable price!! This is truly my new favourite restaurant. It is unpretentious and serves up a wonderful meal. As we were eating our meal, a tremendous downpour of rain began outside -- listening to the rain pelt the roof and watching the rain pound the street outside the window made me feel as though I was in Thailand during monsoon 🙂 If you haven't tried this restaurant, I highly recommend it. Of course, they have take-out as well but I recommend dining in.More
