Traveled to Florida to spend time with my father over the Christmas/ New Year holidays. Breakers in New Smyrna is “the” place to get “the” cheeseburger in paradise. Not “a” cheeseburger in paradise but “the” cheeseburger in paradise. Located right on the beach, you’re not going to get more atmosphere than this place. There is nothing fancy about this joint, but who wants a fancy beach bar? We arrived at noon on New Years Eve and the place was packed. The seat yourself policy makes it a bit intimidating to those who don’t know any better but the tables turn over pretty fast and we were sitting within a few minutes of arriving. Service is friendly and fast , especially considering the amount of customers looking for food and drinks. We ordered a couple of Bloody Marys and had drinks in our hands before we could decide on lunch. This wasn’t my first visit to Breakers and every tine I go, I say I’m going to try something other than the burgers but like all my past visits, I could not resist what I know is one heck of a good meal. We both got burgers and fries. Dad ordered the Beach burger ( lettuce, tomato, onion) I ordered the NSB (bacon, provolone, grilled onions, green peppers, mushrooms LTM). Both were cooked perfectly and neither burger was finished as the portions are huge.
I give this place 5 stars because it is exactly what it tries to be. A fun, beach hangout with good drinks, good food and generous portions, served by friendly staff. I go back every tine I’m in town and look forward to my next visit already.

I wanted to take my Mom to our fav place for her birthday. It was a Saturday , so traffic was backed up and all the parking lots were full and 20 dollars. Their was parking available in Breakers parking lot and parking is free as long as you eat there. We got great seats ..had drinks and food and was able to take a walk on the beach. Made our day! The grilled shrimp and Mahi are great

My wife and I came for a burger and beer and we were not disappointed! First, we got two seats at the counter looking out at the beach and ocean - beautiful. We both got a burger and loved them. A full half pound each, with fries and cole slaw. The burgers were perfectly cooked, the fries crispy and hot, and the slaw very fresh and crisp. A wide selection of beers on tap and bottled. Ours were ice cold and delicious. Definitely a burger and beer decor and ambiance with business friendly and efficient service. Great joint.

We stopped for a late lunch one afternoon and were really disappointed. I understand that we are collectively giving restaurants a break due to COVID-related staffing issues, but we ate at many restaurants during our two weeks in Hawaii and didn't experience anything like this at any other restaurant. tWe waited 10-15 minutes to be seated, despite having many open tables and arriving late (2:00ish)tt, and it also took forever to get our food after ordering. Our server was friendly, but between the average-quality and quantity of food we received, I would not recommend this place to anyone.

My wife and I went a couple weekends ago for an evening meal. We both had chez burgers and they were excellent. The best part is that they will cook it ANY way you want I prefer mine so rare that a good Vet could bring it back no problem at Breakers two thumbs up jt

We love most of the restaurants in New Smyrna Beach, but Breakers is our “go to” choice. The building sits, literally, right on the beach, and the view is awesome! On a nice day, the windows are opened and the ocean breezes permeate the air. One can be at the bar, the beachside interior porch, or at a table and there is no question that you are at the beach.
The food is always fresh, hot, and delicious, and the drinks are consistently made so you know what you’re going to get every time. The prices are reasonable, and we simply love this place.
The real gem of Breakers is the service. Manager, Jeff Buckingham, runs a tight ship and is not afraid to get his own hands into the mix when it gets really busy. The staff is well-trained and coordinate with one another to ensure prompt, sincerely friendly service. It is simply the best service we’ve ever experienced for a casual, unassuming place. I’d like to give a shout out to the entire team: Managers Jeff, Terry, Pat, Brandon, Mike H, and the rest of the staff, Chris, Gina, Sandy, Dory, Amy, Renee, Faedra, Stephanie, Tasha, Bethany, Cindy, Meredith, Chelsea, Shannon, Jeremy, Brian P, Amber, Courtney, Kayt, Elliott, Caroline, Cy, Lynsey, Bailey, Grace, and Mark. You all are the best. Thank you!

We have been to NSB several times and it's impossible to get to all the places you want to go with only a day or two. This place was highly recommended by some friends and we wanted to give it a shot. We came in and sat at the bar facing the ocean. Bartenders were super friendly and poured some very good cocktails. If you read any reviews or read their website, you know that you have to get a burger of some kind here. Although I didn't go there with a burger in mind, I felt I had to do it. It was probably a top three burger I have had at a restaurant. Very large and very good. I stuck with a plain cheese burger but they have many other more exotic options to chose from. My wife had the peel and eat shrimp and they were cooked perfectly. Large and well seasoned. I would say this is a must go to place if you are looking for a relaxed place to have a bite to eat and a cocktail. We will definitely be back next time and try some of their other dishes.

My extended family visited this restaurant last week and while the food was good, the attitude of the waitresses left something to be desired. To start with, we were split at two tables because of available seating. The first waitress asked us to consolidate at the other table. We told her we couldn't because we'd be spilling into the walkway for patrons. When asked if we could seat at the second table, she snottily replied I am not your waitress. Okay, we consolidated. Our new waitress was fine until check time. When I took a moment to view the bill, she stomped off in disgust. When she came back for the bill, she commented, Wow, thanks in an attitude voice over a 20 percent tip. Won't be back. And the manager needs to give an attitude tune up to his wait staff.

Located right on the Beach, the view of NSB couldn't have been better.
It was just after 12 noon and Breakers was already very busy.
Two of us ordered the Burgers as recommended by our Server, one ordered a Salad with Shrimp and I ordered the Mahi sandwich blackened.
The Burgers were excellent as recommended as was the Salad with Shrimp.
My 1st Blackened Mahi sandwich unfortunately came with a moldy bun but our Server immediately removed it and sent it back to the kitchen.
When my replacement Mahi Sandwich came out it was delivered by a Manager and he explained how unhappy he was with the kitchen staff and apologized.
No issues with my 2nd Mahi Sandwich, it was excellent, seasoned well with a fresh bun an ample amount of Mahi. The cole slaw was very good as well.
Service was good, our Server was attentive and friendly.
All in all everyone enjoyed their meals and I would return to Breakers.

They used to have the best hamburgers into Smyrna beach But that's not the case anymore. I always order my hamburger in the rare or medium rare and Every time I go there to order a hamburger now, it's burnt on the outside, well done on the inside and as dry as shoe leather. I'm done, no more.

Wife and I enjoyed another great lunch here. We had a burger (perfectly cooked) and fries (some of the best we’ve had). Cold beers, great view.
Pandemic note: We ate indoors mid-afternoon (2:30) and waited a few minutes until we could sit kind-of by ourselves, a couple of bar stools vacant on either side of us. We felt safe.

Enjoyed Saturday late lunch. Place was packed the whole time. They are known for their burgers, and they were legit good. Waitress said all seafood is frozen, not fresh. One in party still got the mahi sandwich and it was pretty dry and barely edible. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Great bar area looking out to beach and ocean.

The Breakers continues to be one of the truest pieces of old New Smyrna remaining. And their food, service and atmosphere are just as fantastic as always. Consistency. Refreshing to visit my old hometown to walk past tacky new hotels and corporate crap stores to walk inside Breakers and feel, smell and hear everything that use to make NSB charming.
Trust me, you will find and feel true New Smyrna in this restaurant.
You can’t go wrong with anything on their menu. Delicious and fresh.
The waitstaff continue to be personable and chat with ease with their customers even when packed to the rafters with guests, but never neglecting refills and delivery of hot food.
The view from the open slide windows is spectacular. But you will not be disappointed sitting anywhere in this restaurant. The fresh ocean air swirling through with the scent of hamburgers cooking and salt air is naturally intoxicating.
If you miss The Breakers…you haven’t really been or seen NSB.

I ordered four beers, but the waiter would only give me one at a time, as the other three were outside looking at the beach, even though we’re all in our 50’s and he could see them three yards away. I know rules is rules, but use a bit of common sense, you surely don’t need to ID everyone! The restaurant was full of people with wheelchairs and Zimmer frames, which I’m told is due to the snowbirds in winter, but this is a great place to relax and enjoy the view...it was just a bit rushed. We had our check delivered before we’d finished our meal.

A friend of ours who has lived in our condo complex highly recommended this restaurant on New Smyrna beach. Having eaten a non beef diet for several weeks, I was all for having a good cheese burger. Ordered medium rare along with a side of macaroni salad.
Our meal was brought in a timely manner with fast and courteous service.
I must say that the macaroni salad was average in consistency and flavor. Should have ordered their French fries. The cheese burger was excellent. Done just right and seared just right with the inside juicy and flavorful.
Definitely a restaurant that we will return to when we're at New Smyrna beach.
