Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Loved the outdoor dining atmosphere amid the trees. Ordered Shrimp Al Ajillo with side of yuca and Elmo’s Vaga Frita with plantains as a side and a mojito. Everything delish and service good.

If you've come to Miami you've got to try Cuban food and this restaurant, tucked inside the entrance of The Dorchester Hotel, is good place to start. Jorge, our friendly server, was really helpful with recommendations which proved to be ideal. The plantain tostada was...the ideal starter, hubby then had the ceviche with yuca and I had the Cuban sandwich. Wasn't keen on the potato sticks but loved the plantain chips and yuca, and the sandwich was dreamy - fragrant and gently spiced. Ceviche was tangy and sweet. Sadly we couldn't fit in dessert but did go for a Cortadita to finish. A very satisfying meal and great serviceMore

Excellent venue and very authentic.Staff were very efficient and the food we ordered was prompt and tasty. We liked the fact it was more private as set back from the street.

Wanted a quiet dinner on south beach and this place hit the spot. Had an "Old Havana" made with anejo rum, very nice cocktail. Cuban sandwiches delicious and the dipping sauce was excellent. Plaintains and pototo sticks both not greasy and not over salted. Was...exactly what we were looking for. Do read the check though as with a lot of Florida places, gratuity is already added in for you.More

Incredibly flavorful food fast and friendly service. The four of us had the sampler platter and 4 different entrées and 2 cocktails each for $240. EVERYTHING WAS EXCELLENT!!! Cute inviting atmosphere and patio dining. Definitely go!!

This place has amazing Cuban food. I loved the ropa vieja, maduritas, yuca, empanadas, and flan. The ropa vieja is a must try for anyone visiting, it is the tastiest item on the menu.

They were out of a laundry list of menu items including chicken and salads. The atmosphere has a cool latin vibe so we stayed and ordered drinks and an overpriced $33 modified appetizer sampler (they were out of some of the ingredients). After an extremely...long wait it arrived in a pitiful presentation and was cold. We were so hungry we ate it, but had total regret about not saying anything. After paying and tipping, as we are walking out we realized the bartender Nicki had already added gratuity for a party of 2 without our knowledge. So we paid a 40% tip! We've worked in the service industry, so sadly we are aware of this deceitful tipping technique. Hoping management takes reviews seriously and addresses this unacceptable practice.More

Do not go here. The food was horrendous. Our party of 5 had different items to taste from and everything was horrible. It was hot and musty inside the restaurant and for the price not worth the experience at all. Worst cuban food i've ever...had.More

We chose this restaurant for a lunch by accident when walking around the area and I must admit that it was a great choice. The surrounding of this restaurant is awesome if you like the nature, flowers and lights. The salad was very tasty and...sandwich as well. We were suprised (in a good way) of a taste of our drink as well.More

This place is really cool! The ambient of the tables outside and the decoration is well done. The staff is super friendly and helpful and the food tastes really good. The spices are moderate and my daughter enjoys it. The portions are a bit small...so prepare to order more than once. I have to visit it again.More

The menu is written with a font that is not easy to read. Prices are a bit high for the quality and location. The staff try to speak Spanish to give it authenticity. They add many changes to your original order. A beer, sandwich, and...juice, easily goes up to &40. Even though on paper it's about half the price.More

I didn't see the steak on the menu when I was there, but it could have been or possibly was added recently. I don't know the prices of the food items.
