Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.

There are two locations in Melbourne, this is the larger one. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, and the staff are very friendly. I've only been here during Sunday lunch, but would like to try the dinner one day as they offer more menu items. The lunch buffet is a great value that lets members in your party try various types of sushi, nigiri, and rolls. There are also "tame" dishes for the less adventurous in your group, such as steak and chicken teriyaki.
If you don't like a certain ingredient (cream cheese for me) you can ask to have it withheld. There are extra sauces to have at your table, but you have to know to ask for them, such as spicy mayo and shrimp. Orders are usually quick to arrive at your table, but sometimes there can be a delay. This is hardly a concern though. Being all you can eat, you can definitely get your money's worth, but don't be a glutton or wasteful. They will charge you extra if too much food is wasted.
Sushi quality is not top tier, but neither is the price. Better quality than what you would get at a Chinese or Taiwanese place that have similar offerings, at least that's my opinion. Covered outdoor seating is available as well.

This place has an interesting approach. All you can eat but instead of buffet style, you write down what you want on a slip, with your seat number and they bring it back for you. There is a lot of variety. The staff was not very up to speed on gluten so it is up to you to be careful. If the server isn't bringing your selection but your table mates are getting theirs, ask. Somehow on our visit ours got lost...

I have now eaten here for both lunch and dinner. I really like that you can "snack" your way to a full belly by way of a virtual buffet. You don't have to choose just a couple of items. The menu offers a good variety as well. I have enjoyed all the items I have tried. Although, the edamame was a bit over salted this last time. I felt lunch was a good deal. But since it's the same menu for dinner, and $6 more per person ($14 for lunch and $22 for dinner), I will probably stick with lunch. They do, however, charge 1/2 price for children under 11.

We used to love the place, no longer we do, past 6 or 7 times we come to the place and wait for our food for over 2 hrs, occasionally getting some sushi often not at all what we ordered. Today my husband and son literally got 4 pieces of sushi each in 2 hrs we were sitting there, that is all you can eat if you can put in 8 hrs there you might get enough to maybe not be too hungry, for a whooping price of almost 50 dollars per person after taxes and service fees of 18% that automatically added to your check. Sadly after coming here pretty regularly in a past few years I am afraid this might be our last time here

I love sushi but love rice paper instead of mori. No problem at SF. I decided to just try a few dishes here and there, and not the "all you can eat"...The miso soup is amazingly good and in a large bowl. Then I tried an appetizer, can't recall the name of it as Susan suggested, it was amazing made of crab and cream cheese. Oh amazing. Then tried a few sushi dishes and again, you cannot go wrong here. I'd recommend doing the $16.95 all you can eat as I spent $15.95 on just picking what I wanted as sides. Food is fantastic, staff are amazing. You just fill out the paper of what you want it comes really quick. This is a great restaurant concept. Next time, I will do the "all you can eat"...Everything I had was super good. I used to go to other sushi places in Melbourne, and none have the standards of this place.

Service is horrible. It's overpriced. The food was wrong, cold, or too forever to get. They require 18% gratuity but our service was rude and ignored us. He did not deserve a good time at all. I will never return. Just go to the Crystal Buffet down the street. Cheaper and the service is always nice there.

Ordered online got there and they didn’t even start our order. It said a pick up
time of 7:34 waited 25 min. Also, ordered a cali roll and there were 4 small pieces. Asked for white sauce and had no clue what it was. No wasabi or soy in our bags.

Horrible service, staff, food. have been here for two hours and only got one order of food so far and had to personally bring up my second order because they hadn’t came to my table for 45 minutes then gave us wrong sushi. Very unsatisfied!

I am not from Florida and was looking for Sushi. The selections were limited, there was an extra charge for drinks, for the only dessert (which was mochi) and they charged an 18% surcharge for 2 people. We didn’t eat a lot food at all. Atmosphere was dark and dingy. The best thing about the restaurant was the robot serving your food, hence the only justification for the 18% surcharge. Not worth the money.

Big boy was the first person to enter the restaurant. 52 minutes. No food…no service. Thankfully, I brought someone with me who can verify my experience. Honestly, If I had not invited company, I would’ve left much sooner; but I wanted him to empathize with what I go through on a regular basis. It’s absolutely mind boggling to me that a place like this exists at all; even more incomprehensible is the fact that there are three locations. Equally perplexing is that there are people in the community who willingly choose to come here to eat.
In good conscience, I cannot classify what is served here as sushi. On the contrary, this is more closely reminiscent of a weird concoction, a strange mashup, an odd blend that leaves us with something resembling the “Golden Corral” of Sushi restaurants. I’d need a xyster, in order to scrape the various bones of contention I harbor for this place. I should also point out that the current owner of this establishment is on probation for inappropriate interactions with his service staff, per the 923.01 probable cause affidavit.
Big boy says, “There is better sushi, better service and better ownership to be had. Stay away…far away.”

The all-you-can-eat sushi is such a great deal, even on weekends! They have such a diverse menu to order from which includes appetizers, sushi, stir fry, dessert, etc and they even have cocktails. I tried the bottomless hot sake today and was not disappointed! We always request Linda as our server and she takes such wonderful care of our group. (:

My wife and I went here for our anniversary to finally learn how to make sushi. We love sushi and anytime we can try a new place we do. The lesson was simple (had a sushi kit for 5 years and never been used) lol. With 3-4 easy steps we were creating and rolling our own sushi. They have shrimp ,several fish, krab, cream cheese and cucumber ready. But you can get other stuff prepared if you like eel, octopus etc. they do add on a surcharge for the person giving the lesson. I think it was only like 11% but I imagine a lot of people don’t tip since it’s self serve so that didn’t bother me at all.

Tried the Sushi Factory for dinner and was pleasantly surprised they All you can eat Sushi was an excellent treat. The service was good and the variety of fish type served was quite good. The deal @ 22.95 pp was a real bargain as opposed to taking it on an Ala carte basis. The restaurant a bit dated but nonetheless if you are a Sushi lover....go for it.

Extremely friendly staff, they are very attentive to you from start to finish. Every table has a name eg. D1 and very seat has a number. On the ordering slip, you write down your choices and within minutes your food arrives. In the UK sushi restaurants offer only “RAW” Sushi. In this North American establishment they offer a long selection of Fried & Raw Sushi 🍣. $13.95 lunch buffet for adults & half price for children.

The inside was ok. The location was clean. There are SO MANY YUMMY selections to choose from for the ALL YOU CAN EAT section!!! The service was confusing, because there were several different people coming to our table, including bringing us another tables order. The bill was a bit higher then expected, but we did walk out very full & satisfied. We will return
